Chapter 0:

Reincarnated

There Is No Way I Can Beat Him! Unless I'm As Strong As Him.

There once was a world filled with fantastic creatures—elves, goblins, dwarves, and more. It was a wondrous place… until the Demon King rose to power, spreading chaos and terror. The land fell into despair, with no hope in sight.

Then, heroes from another world began to arrive, wielding supernatural abilities. Yet even they were not enough to defeat the Demon King. Years passed, and the world remained locked in darkness.

Until one day, a new hero appeared. Unlike the others, he possessed every imaginable power—divine blessings, endless strength, even the ability to return from death itself. No one knew his limits. Within months, he vanquished the Demon King… but it wasn’t enough. Hungry for more, he became a tyrant far worse than the demon he’d slain.

Fear spread as the invincible hero crushed all who opposed him. Those who challenged him vanished without a trace—except for a single survivor, who spoke of a man who could kill in the blink of an eye. Fighting him was futile.

So how do you defeat someone unstoppable? The answer was simple: you couldn’t… unless you were reborn with the exact same powers as him.

---

So, where do we begin the story of this hero? Let’s start with an introduction.
His name is Kasane Rin, an 18-year-old college student. Despite being smart and at the top of his class, he’s also an otaku—though not one of the weird ones. He’s logical when discussing anime and manga with fellow fans, and while he doesn’t have many hobbies, he knows how to keep himself healthy.

One morning, at 8 a.m., Rin was walking to campus. The sun was bright, birds chirped as usual, and he enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. Upon arriving, he headed to his classroom, took a seat in the back (where he was least likely to be disturbed), and pulled out a manga to read while waiting for the teacher.

This was college, after all—unlike high school, people here were more mature and logical. No one would bully him for being a "weeb."

The classroom was spacious, easily accommodating over a hundred students. As it filled up and the teacher arrived, Rin stashed his manga, took out his notebook and textbooks, and prepared to focus.

“Alright, everybody, shut your traps,” the teacher said, picking up a piece of chalk. “Today, we’re starting with physics.”

Rin copied the board’s contents into his notebook, adding his own notes. When the teacher posed a problem, Rin raced to solve it before the answer was revealed. If he got it wrong, he’d jot down the correct solution with an explanation of his mistake.

Everything was going smoothly—students worked diligently, no disruptions in sight. Nothing could ruin the moment. Or at least nothing would usually ruin the moment.

A loud BANG shattered the calm.
A gunshot? Who would do such a thing at a place and time like this?

“Put your hands in the air, Mr. Okuda!” A student at the front stood, gun aimed at the teacher. Some classmates hid under their desks; others raised their fists defensively.

“Don’t try anything stupid, or I’ll shoot!” The gunman’s eyes darted around, ensuring no one would rush him. Satisfied, he turned back to the teacher.

“You! This is all your fault!”

“S-sorry,” the teacher stammered. “But… what exactly did I do?”

“Don’t play dumb! Because of you, I had to drop out of college! Because of you, my life is over!”

“I’m sorry, but if you’re not—”

“Bullshit! As revenge, I’m going to kill you!” He steadied the gun, finger tightening on the trigger.

Rin didn’t know why he did it—he still doesn’t, even when recounting it later. From the back of the room, his body lunged forward before his mind could catch up.

A chair flew across the room, striking the shooter’s back—but it wasn’t enough to stop him. The gunman whirled around, locking eyes with Rin.

Fear flashed in Rin’s eyes, his fist raised to strike—but he was too slow. The shooter lifted the gun and fired.

BANG!

The bullet tore through Rin’s stomach. Agony seared through him, but he pushed forward—only to slip on a textbook, crashing into the shooter.

They tumbled to the floor. The gunman, still armed, fired again.

This time, the bullet struck Rin’s lung. Blood gushed. His vision blurred as he tried to gasp for air.
Is this really the end?

As Rin’s eyes fluttered shut, distant sirens wailed. The police had arrived. Relief washed over him. Even if he died here… he’d saved everyone else. A faint smile touched his lips as the world faded to black.

---

Everything was black. Rin couldn’t see anything nor was he able to feel anything. But then a light appeared. A light coming from up, the source: unknown. But a woman came from the light. She had long white hair, and a white dress. It looked like a wedding dress. She also had wings. Wings like the one from an angle.

“Poor spirit I have created.” She said landing on some floor. “It seems like your life has ended.”

[Huh? Where am I?]

Rin couldn’t speak, but she could hear him.

“Call this the afterworld if you like, but this isn’t the final destination of your soul. This is more of a gate to your next life.”

[My next life?]

“Yes. This world that I am sending you to is a fantasy world. You know, the one that you would read in books. I will send you to that world, and your job will be to defeat a super strong person.”

[Why me?]

“Every soul created by me will be forced to live this second life.”

[Can I not, I just suffered a horrible death.]

“You have no choice.”

Rin sighed. [What kind of person should I defeat? The Demon King?]

She laughed. “The Demon King is already dead. You will have to kill a corrupt hero that got overwhelmed by power and want world domination.”

[What kind of power does this person have?]

“Well… He can control all elements, he can speak every language, he has a hypnosis ability, he can dodge anyone weaker than him, he has instant healing, he can dispel any magical spell, he can also come back from the death, he has a fast production of mana, he has-“ She explained before getting interrupted.

[Hold on, how the hell am I supposed to beat him with all that?!]

“Just keep leveling up and learn new skills until you reach his strength.”

[It is impossible! There is no way I can beat him! Unless I am as strong as him.]

“Alright, wish granted.” She smiled starting to lose patience with Rin. “Enjoy your new world.”

[Wait what?” Rin said. Before he could say anything else, everything around him became bright. And suddenly he was sitting down on the floor in a church. He was even wearing the same clothes from when he died. “Huh?” Rin was confused.

But this is how Rin’s adventure began.
