Chapter 3:

The Dragon’s Flame and a Wonderland Named Alice

Lazy boy who become active in another world with his SSS tier- Reverse skill

The dungeon air felt heavier with each step. Though I had company, I couldn’t shake off the uneasiness crawling up my spine. Arthi, who usually barely acknowledged my existence back in college, was now cheerfully walking beside me, asking questions and even laughing at my dry jokes.

Something was off.

“Reverse,” I whispered mentally, “is this really Arthi?”

A soft pulse of energy responded.

“No, Master. The real Arthi is currently imprisoned on the 100th floor. The person beside you… is not human. She is the Dragon Princess—boss of this dungeon—disguised in Arthi’s form. Her level: 1000. Danger imminent.”

My stomach dropped. I was chatting with a literal death sentence in disguise.

Fake Arthi suddenly looked at me. “You seem tense. Everything okay?”

I forced a smile. “Yeah… just hungry.”

Her eyes sparkled. “Oh! Do you have something to eat? I’m starving.”

I remembered something—the Mexican Firestorm Sandwich my mom packed. Legendary. No one dared finish it without crying for mercy. A brilliant, spicy idea began brewing.

“I do,” I said. “But it's insanely spicy.”

She laughed lightly. “I’m a dragon. Heat is my second name.”

I smirked internally and mentally invoked my power:
Reverse ‘low spice level’

The sandwich now glowed ominously. I handed it over.

She bit in confidently.

Seconds later, steam burst from her ears, literal fire poured out her nostrils, and she roared, “W-WATER! WHAT IS THIS HELLISH CREATION!?”

Her disguise melted. Wings exploded out, horns curved atop her head, and scales shimmered on her arms. She was transforming before me.

“YOU DARE FEED A DRAGON—AHHHHH!”

She flapped her wings and soared through the dungeon ceiling in search of water. As her fiery figure vanished above, I chuckled in disbelief. “Reverse: 1, Dragon Princess: 0.”

But I knew she’d return—and this time, angry.

My magic phone buzzed:

Would you like to channel suppressed emotions and unlock new potential using Negative Reverse?

I didn’t hesitate. Every ounce of self-doubt, regret, and frustration flowed through my veins.

I hit Yes.

A surge of violet energy spiraled around me. It wasn’t painful—it was empowering. I felt lighter, clearer… more alive.

Negative Reverse Activated
You have gained:

Level Drain

Regeneration

Time Manipulation

Skill Creation: Beast Tame

Wait—Beast Tame?

I blinked. A new window appeared on my magic phone.

You now possess the ability to form bonds with non-human entities. Use “Reverse Obedience” to pacify hostile creatures. High-level beasts may submit if their emotions are altered.

Perfect timing. The ceiling above cracked again.

She was back.

The dragon landed hard on the stone floor, her crimson eyes glowing with rage and embarrassment. Steam still hissed from her mouth.

“You little mortal! You dare trick me!? No one humiliates the Dragon Princess!”

I raised my hand and whispered:

“Reverse hostility.”

Her body froze mid-charge.

Emotional response altered: Anger → Curiosity.

She blinked in confusion, staring at me. “What… did you just do?”

I stepped closer, slowly, confidently. “I didn’t trick you. I wanted to protect myself. But I also saw something behind your act… loneliness.”

Her breath hitched. I used Level Drain lightly to sync with her aura, allowing her emotions to flow into me. There was sadness, isolation… and a longing for connection.

I touched her shoulder and whispered,

“Reverse predator instinct.”

Her wings folded, and her glare softened.

She lowered her head. “You’re… not like the others.”

“I’m Dev,” I said softly. “What’s your name?”

She looked surprised. “Name? No one’s asked me that in centuries…”

I smiled. “Then I’ll give you one. From now on, you’ll be called Alice. Like the girl who wandered through a strange world in search of meaning.”

Her golden eyes widened. Then, to my complete shock, she blushed.

“Alice… I like that name.”

She stepped forward and gently pressed her forehead to mine. A warmth spread through my chest, and a system message popped up:

Dragon Princess Alice has submitted to your Tame Skill.
Bond Level: 1 → 50
Affection Status: Infatuated

“W-What just happened?” I stammered.

“I… I don’t know,” she whispered, pulling back. “But something about you feels right. You looked into my soul instead of fearing my strength.”

I chuckled awkwardly. “Well, I did feed you the spiciest sandwich ever made.”

She laughed—a real, melodic laugh. “I’ll follow you, Dev. As your guardian… or whatever role you want me to play.”

“Let’s escape this dungeon together,” I said, extending my hand. “And save my real classmates.”

She nodded and placed her clawed hand in mine. “Let’s make this world your Wonderland, Dev.”

With a dragon ally, a new name, and powers unlike any other, I was no longer the shy, lazy student I once was.

I was someone even a dragon could believe in.
