Chapter 0:

Prologue

Summit Of Stars: Journey To The Top Of Another World

Some people consider climbing mountains fun, some also consider it a challenge, and some think it is a way of life.

Mount Everest, on an icy freezing wind was blowing very hard from the top of the mountain, and two people were seen trying to reach the top. They walked very slowly, but they were not afraid of the wind that hit them. Mount Everest is covered in very white and holy snow, and despite unfavorable weather, they continue to advance to achieve their goals.

They wear bright red jackets to protect themselves from Mount Everest's cold. The burden on their backs, which looks very heavy, also doesn't discourage them. Only with the light from the spotlights on their heads and the beautiful moonlight did they continue to try to reach the top in the darkness of the night. But before they reach the top, they have to pass through Camp 4 first.

“Hey brother, soon we will reach camp four, and we will rest for a while before continuing the journey.”

Sonam is a sherpa; he has often climbed with Satoru. In comparison, Satoru is a mountain climber who is not very famous. Their bond is very strong. They respect each other and consider each other as brothers. Sonam was in the lead for this climb.

“Okay, brother”

From the darkness, they could see the tents in Camp Four. Lights could be seen from one of the tents, the tent was a highlighter yellow color, which stood out at night. Then they continued walking in the cold of the night until they finally arrived at Camp Four.

“There's no one here at all, brother, please check the tent over there. I will prepare the rope for the Hillary Step.”

In the stillness of the cold night on Mount Everest, they still had a lot of energy to reach the top. Satoru first went into the tent and prepared the things needed to reach the top, while Sonam walked towards the tent, where you could see the lights were on from the outside. The tent was close to where Satoru was. They looked confused because the other group of climbers should have finished their climb and rested at Camp Four before descending to base camp.

“Brother! Come here quickly! There was someone in this tent, he looked so weak and very cold.”

In the silence of a night that was so cold and calm, Sonam's screams could be heard very clearly. Listening to the screams, Satoru hurriedly walked towards the tent where Sonam found someone who was struggling to survive in the cold of Mount Everest at night.

“Hey! Are you okay? Sonam! Please bring the oxygen!”

Sonam quickly took the oxygen cylinder that was outside the tent, and he quickly gave the oxygen to the person. Then, after Sonam handled the person, Satoru also rushed to take some extra-thick jackets from the tent and gave them to the person. Satoru and Sonam stayed by the man's side until he finally felt better and could tell what had happened to him.

“So, what happened? Why are you the only one here? Where is everyone else?”

“They are all still at the top. Because I couldn't climb to the top anymore, they told me to go down first, and I arrived here alone.”

“Please stay here for a while and rest until your energy recovers.”

Someone answered Satoru's question slowly but very clearly. His voice sounded a little hoarse, and he was also heard coughing several times. With help from Satoru and Sonam, he slowly began to be able to rest comfortably. After listening to the person's answer, Satoru and Sonam rushed back to their tent and prepared all the equipment and additional oxygen cylinders.

“Brother, I'm sorry. It looks like our journey will take much longer. I can't let anyone get left up there. We will try to save them. I hope some of them can still survive.”

“Brother, you don't need to worry. We must not leave anyone behind, and we will help anyone who needs our help. That's one of our ways of life as climbers.”

After they prepared all the equipment, they started their journey to save several climbers who were still left at the top. Before they headed to the top, they told someone who was in the previous tent that they would try to save anyone who was still standing at the top. After that, they began their journey, assisted by the light in their heads, tracing the path to the top in the icy darkness of Mount Everest.

A few moments after they walked to the top, they saw a light that didn't seem too bright. Slowly, they started to approach. It turned out that the light came from one of the climbers' helmets. Immediately, they began to speed up their step, approaching the climber.

“Hey, we'll take you home, don't worry.”

The two climbers looked very weak and without energy. They used the last oxygen cylinder. Their jackets are bright yellow, which protects them from the cold winds that blow on Mount Everest. In a fragile tone, one of them said, "There are still a few more people upstairs." Hearing this, Satoru and Sonam looked at each other. They knew very well that this was very dangerous, but deep in their hearts, they wanted to save whoever could be saved.

“Bro! I will go. Take them both to Camp Four first. This is an order!”

The sun began to show itself, warm rays began to illuminate some of the mountain peaks, but the wind began to blow hard. Satoru firmly told Sonam that he would pick up the other climbers still at the top. Hearing Satoru's firmness, Sonam had no intention of preventing Satoru. Sonam and the other two climbers started walking towards Camp Four. Sonam carried one of them, and the other was embraced by him, strolled. A few moments later, Sonam and the other 2 climbers were no longer visible within Satoru's line of sight.

The wind was blowing very hard from the top, but Satoru, with a slightly tired look, continued to walk without any fear. He already understood what risks he would face. A few moments later, Satoru had arrived at Hilary's steps and saw a yellow jacket from a distance. After he approached the jacket, he realized it was another climber. But half of the climber's body was already buried by snow. A large backpack was seen next to the climber. Satoru tried to turn the climber's body around to see the situation. It's a shame that the climber is no longer alive. Satoru felt very disappointed because he couldn't save the climber. With disappointment, Satoru decided to return to Camp Four and immediately help Sonam.

Shortly after, Satoru was about to walk down to Camp Four. From the direction of Camp Four, you could see a collection of clouds that were very dense and also blowing quickly in the direction Satoru was heading. At that moment, he realized that he couldn't avoid the storm if he continued walking towards Camp Four. It was as if the clouds kept pushing Satoru to go to the top. Satoru finally turned around and rushed towards the top and sought shelter from the storm.

The faster the collection of clouds moved towards the direction Satoru was. Satoru walked faster toward the top. As soon as he arrived at the Hilary Steps, he felt his heart beating faster. The adrenaline inside him began to stir. When he found shelter on the rocks of the mountain, he felt restless. His eyes continued to stare at the peak of Mount Everest, which looked so beautiful and majestic as if the mountain was whispering and seducing him. The look in his eyes was no longer the look of someone afraid of death. He saw the clouds getting closer and closer, and he consciously left the shelter and rushed to the top of Mount Everest. The peak was right before his eyes. All the passion and ambition to get to the top finally flared up. He couldn't resist it and kept walking towards the peak with very high adrenaline.

At the top of Mount Everest. The clouds began to reach the top while Satoru was already there, with his heart continuing to beat quickly. He began to try to calm himself down by slowly taking a sitting position right at the top of Mount Everest. Quickly, the group of clouds reached the peak, as well as very strong storm winds started to reach the peak. Satoru sat down and surrendered. He felt very happy to be able to live this life. In the depths of his heart, he still really wanted to live and climb the peak even longer. "I am very much satisfied with my current life but if I were given the chance to live again, I want to climb the mountain more" Satoru, with his enthusiasm still burning, seemed to be starting to lose consciousness due to being hit by an Icy storm until finally he lay on the top of Everest forever.
