Chapter 3:

Everything Will Be Fine

The Office Worker Who Got Isekai’d to Slay Heroes

Ash was captured by five royal angel fishes. He was being taken away while his army was still battling in the city. After a few minutes, the whole Light City was defeated and captured by the army that Ash had gathered. John was looking for his leader Ash but couldn’t find him. He was running around and searching , that’s when he saw Lisa’s lifeless body on the ground.

He was sad for a split second but then moved on to give out orders.
John knew he must return Ash, but it was impossible, he was probably already too far away.
John ordered for the majority of the army to return to ORKA Castle, while he kept some highly skilled warriors there, mostly Lizard Heads.
Lizard Heads were exactly as the name suggests, creatures with the body of a human and different types of lizard-shaped heads.
The leader of the Lizards was Charlie. Charlie was a massive Komodo Dragon Lizard Head. He carried a giant dark sword and wore armor that was more silver than dark.
John also kept a small dragon-dinosaur-looking creature in this just-captured city. His name was Ogi, and he was great at recon.

All captured beast mages, dwarves, fairies, dragons, and creatures were to stay here as well. John assigned Charlie to train them and convince them to fight for their side.
This small city was starting to become another stronghold for the Dark Fishes' forces, and that was part of Ash's idea. The only problem was that Ash was not here.

Meanwhile, in the Light Castle, Rose was given a guard to help her, and she was directed by Princess Diane to the city near the one that had just been captured.
Diane had amazing informants and already knew about the attack.
With the attack happening, she ordered Rose to prove herself or be killed.
"Go there and make a plan. I want you to prove to me what you've got."

Rose was still lost and confused.
A guardian angel from the special royal force taught her how to release her wings.
Rose’s wings were different from other angels, hers were small and pink.
The royal angel and she left the castle and were on the way to the city near the new stronghold of the Dark Forces.

While struggling to fly, Rose saw five royal angels just passing by her and her guardian at the speed of light. They kind of looked weird to her, almost like they were carrying something.

She and her guardian just continued to their destination.
Rose was trying to figure out how to flap her wings simultaneously so she wouldn’t go in circles in the sky. She was getting better and better.
Through her head was going: If I prove myself now, I can become something here.

In my world, I was barely anything. I had a BS job, no family, no nothing.
I had a few girlfriends with whom I’d sometimes go out to party, and later, if some of them got really drunk, I could maybe convince them to kiss me or do something more.
But yeah, they’re probably not missing me.
Before the lifeguard job, I had a trash-picking job that I got through connections because of a political party.
The lifeguard job was an upgrade to that, but it still wasn’t amazing.
I would have never saved anyone.

Here I got the opportunity to prove myself and start over.
I will prove myself here, and I will stay in this world. I don’t want to return ever.
I promise that I will stay in this world and prove myself.

Before Diane stood a man, a dark forces man, broken. He was lost, sad, and confused.
Even in this broken state, he still looked intimidating. His body was without a scratch, and he was massive compared to everyone in the castle.
Diane was small compared to him, but her presence now was overshadowing him.
She commanded him, “Speak. Who and what are you?”

No answer.

She commanded again, “I will not repeat myself. Speak!”

Ash looked at her and said, “You look nice. I am...”

Diane interrupted him. “I didn’t ask you how I look,” and slapped him with her wing. “I asked who and what you are.”
Then she came closer. She kissed him, and then slapped him with her small palm. “Was that also nice?”

Ash was beyond confused now.
For a second, he thought about fighting her and everyone in here. But that kiss and slap confused him more than anything.

“I could tell what you were thinking, but don’t,” Diane said.

Ash started speaking. “I am not from this world.”

“I know. What else?”

Confused, Ash continued, “ORK and the Dark Forces give me orders to bring darkness to this world… and I will do it.”

“Aha, I get it now. Okay. Good luck with that.
Guards throw him in the jail chamber and lock him nice and tight.”

Ash smiled and said, “This was a mistake… me being here. But thank you, Diane, for wishing me luck and giving me new strength.”

With her arm, she gestured for the guards to take him away.
She was not amused or impressed.

Ash was thrown in jail and shackled to the wall.

He was there, in this bright light cell. It was nothing like the jails in his old world, or at least he thought so, because he’d never really been in jail in his old world.

He didn’t know what time it was or how much time had passed, but after a while, two female angels came into his cell to feed him and torture him.

They tortured him for days. Some days they even used him for pleasure.
Diane heard about this and decided to torture him and use him as well.

Ash didn’t even know what was happening anymore.
He was thinking about home. About deadlines for work. His team was probably beyond angry now.
He didn’t let anyone know he was missing. I’m probably fired now, right?
I want to go home. Even though I had a bad job and hard life… I want home.

Days went by, and in one moment, a male angel entered his jail chamber.

With this change, Ash came out of his thoughts. He had no strength, but he tried to direct his focus on this weak-looking man with wings.

This angel fish was angry and started unshackling Ash.

“The girl I liked cheated on me with you! And now we will fight for her.
I will kill you here and now. After that, she will know that I, Max, am the one!”

Ash was now unshackled, but he could barely stand up. He tried to speak, to say he wasn’t at fault.

But Max started attacking him with his fists.
His weak fists were hitting Ash’s pale face.

Now that Ash was standing, he slowly started gaining his strength back and in an instant, he snapped off Max’s head.
Ash had been tortured for so long and fed so little… he just took a bite out of Max and drank a little bit of his blood to get closer to his real self.

He collected his thoughts for a few seconds, then started running around, making a mess and killing many of the Light Fish forces.
He was discovering new abilities and ways to kill some things he had learned from being tortured...

He tried out a new spell that would burn eyes, but when he used it, the spell had a much better effect than he expected.
He was making his way through the castle, in the direction he thought he could escape.

After killing more than 300 angels, beasts, and creatures, he was finally out of the jail part of the castle.
He realized… this was only the jail chambers...

He was now in the main part of the castle. The first wall he saw he just went straight through it and broke through many more in an instant to get out.

The royal angels were ready. They had been alarmed even earlier but thought the regular soldiers would deal with it.

The five royal angels were again in front of him.
Ash was outside the castle, looking at them with sad eyes and a face drenched in sorrow.
His mind couldn’t even process all the killing he had just done.
But his heart... dark and full of sadness.

The royal angels, magnificent and scary, bright and strong, threw him a little wooden stick.
They didn’t want to fight a man who was unarmed. But this wooden stick was hardly a weapon.

Ash picked up the wooden stick and took a fighting stance.

He said, “Sorry,” to the royal guards.

Rose finally arrived near the city from which she was supposed to make a plan to recapture the lost territory.
But to her surprise, this city was also captured by the Dark Forces.

From a distance, she and her guard watched as most of the population of the city was killed.
A creature with the head of a bull was destroying the city completely, they thought, while John stood there covered in blood.

In Rose’s mind, there was only one thought now:
Everything Will Be Fine, I can beat this creature and prove myself. It’s only one monster, I can do it. Everything Will Be Fine.
I will beat him and prove myself. I know I can.
Everything Will Be Fine.

Rose asked her guard to give her a weapon.
He conjured a sharp light spear with magic and gave it to her. He also conjured one for himself.

Rose told him, “We attack that creature now.”

“Let’s go! Le Attack, Le attack, attack!” she screamed.
