Chapter 1:
Chronicles of Arda: Imperial Saviour
I closed my eyes and tensed up. It felt like my very existence was being dissolved and reconstructed as I travelled. I saw memories of many people, alternate timelines, and then the world I was to help. It looked much like my own, but with more land mass and water. Maybe it was bigger?
POOF!
I landed with a thud throughout it all, but it did not hurt. I arose to witness architecture far grander than anything I could've ever hoped to have seen or imagined. The walls did not look like something man could create, it looked seamless, with a sort of wood I have never seen in all my years mixed with what looked like solidified moonlight… There were no torches or chandeliers, but rather, the air shimmered in a perpetual twilight cast from, what looked like, various crystalline geodes. The floor was quite literally a singular, seemingly vast expanse of obsidian. A singular velvet and gold carpet with a plaid-like pattern stretched within the middle of the floor, and led to a large throne.
“You've finally arrived”
I looked around to see a towering figure, a man, no, he looked like a man but no mere man could ever achieve such incredible physique. He was inescapably tall and muscular, but with such finesse that I wouldn't be able to describe it even if I gained the infinite Jargon of my world. His voice boomed as he spoke, but not one of an uneducated man, quite well the opposite. He spoke with such intellectual prowess that it would be almost a sin to not immediately consider this man the leader of this place. He spoke again.
“For two hundred and sixty-five years, I have waited, toiled, prayed, and finally, our last hope has arrived.”
“I was told that I needed to save this world, an Erton Imperium Silus Secundus? What kind of name is that?”
“The name bestowed to our realm by the God Erton and my parents; Emperor Silua and Empress Usasha. Our homeland is one of many fates and tales, but the greatest and most tragic of all might be right around the corner if we do not persist and rid this world of its evils.”
“Alright… that clears some things up I think, but what do you mean Secundus? Would that not imply that this is a second of sorts?”
“You wouldn't be entirely wrong… I, Lord Regent Tulote Rildon von Caesar am leader of this second founding is as a result of tragedy, I suppose it would not hurt to catch you up this place's history. “
This world was created by the first great Calamity Erton, an all-knowing, all powerful God gifted with the power of creation. He created for himself, children, all four of whom possessed fragments of himself, after this he formed himself into this planet and instructed his creations to be its supreme rulers. We know not the names of these beings, but we do know that they created life as it is… or was. For centuries the land was peaceful, flourishing, and lively. It was during this time that my parents, Silua and Usasha, were born. For most of their childhood they lived and enjoyed this peace, but then disaster struck.
The second Calamity, Dietha, was the polar opposite of Erton. She hated life and could not bear to see the fact that life was thriving and living in harmony. She planted seeds of deceit and mistrust among all the races, the humans, elves, half-humans, and dwarfs. War broke out shortly thereafter between all four races, and it seemed the end for the world as they knew it. But Erton would not sit idly by. He picked the purest of vessels, children, and bestowed upon them his power. However, it was not without cost, of all those he gifted his power to, only Silua and Usasha could handle it.
Those other children didn't even last a day.
Silua a half human and dwarf, 12, and Usasha an elf 14, began to repel the dark seeds of hate first within the elves. With their divine power and gifts from Erton, they created Terra, the very essence needed to perform magic within this world. Silus created Gladius Nobellus, a sword formed from the essence of stars that could react before the user even knew what it wanted to do. For Usasha, she created the Tree of Life, of Knowledge, of Good, and of Purity. Their powers awed the elves into such a cathartic state that they all broke down and cried. They then swore their allegiance to the two, and marched North to the Variable Range of Neoth to confront the half-humans.
The half-humans were those who fused with animals and took on their respective characteristics while retaining the look of a human. They are particularly attracted to nature, even more so than the elves, and hence the Variable Range of Neoth with its condensed strict climate zones made the perfect home. It took Silus and Usasha 20 years of brutal fighting until the Half-Humans realized what had happened. By then there were not many of them left.
It was at the end of that battle, that Silus and Usasha had four children, Aquarius, Tulote Rildon von Caesar, Tigress'el Thompson and Niath. Love had long blossomed between the two, and they had engaged themselves in vows of marriage, but put off the wedding till the war was at its end.
Aquarius is an elf after his mother's likeness, his blue short-cut hair and lean physique with his characteristic smile and charisma made him loved by his allies and both respected and feared by his foes. His prowess was the sea, and he was an unstoppable force when given a navy. He was appointed Supreme Admiral.
Tulote Rildon von Caesar is a man of breathtaking physique. His abnormal height for a human, seemingly the only wildcard. His long chestnut brown hair inherited from his father, his asymmetrical face and overall good attitude made him a pleasant man to adore. Tulote's prowess was not with the seas but rather, as a diplomatic leader, preferring to use diplomacy rather than force where possible, but if it came to it, his might as a strategist was second to none. He was an advisor to his father and Lord War Master.
The two daughters came a bit later, with one being created by both Silus and Usasha out of necessity.
Tigress'el Thompson is a masterful warrior, her half-human likeness allowed for her to take on the characteristic of any beast, natural or mythical. She was proficient in all weapon classes and was feared by everyone for her outlandish nature and feral look. She had the stripes of a tiger and Pure blonde hair that was always messy. But despite all of this, she was undeniably the favourite of both Silus and Usasha. She took up the mantle of leadership for the dwindling half-humans and become Warrior Princess.
Lastly, there is a daughter that many have not seen, so much so, that she is relegated to myth. That is Niath, not much is known of her in imperial record except that she was a master spy and brought up to know the path of the shadows.
After all was said and done, the children created, the dwarfs were the last left. With the combined powers of all four of their children, and themselves, they crushed the Dwarf uprising and uprooted all traces of Dietha in the kingdom for good.
Thus ended the Great Unification Wars
Silas and Usasha formed the Imperium shortly thereafter, a united empire of Humans, Half-Humans, Elves and Dwarfs, and for 200 years there was peace, and trade.
Economies flourished and many forgot what war felt like. Silas and Usasha got married at the Imperial Palace's Courtyard, the event was gran douse and the whole kingdom turned up to witness their saviours married, and the birth of a love between Gods, for they were considered that.
However, no good thing lasts forever. The war was exceedingly taxing on the Half-Humans, and their population continued to dwindle. Tigress did everything in her power to stop or at least slow it down, but by then, the last of her people had been gone.
She begged her parents to use their powers of creation to revive her people, but they declined, stating that their powers were not as strong as Erton's and could not create and sustain life.
Dietha, now weak and her power almost drained due to the lack of suffering and pain inherent in the kingdom, sought Tigress as her catalyst to restore her power. Tigress tried resisting her urges but snapped when Dietha told her how Terra, her mother's creation, had caused a chemical reaction within her kind which stopped them from repopulating. Tigress, blind in her need to resurrect her people turned to rage, and allowed Dietha to consume her becoming her vessel.
The Darkest hours were upon the Imperium.
The Tigress Heresy was at hand.
