Our Perfect Isekai World is Spoiled by a Demon Girl?!

Episode 3 - Feeling Wanted.

3.0 - Visitor on Horseback

"There it is, Epona!"

"Neigh!" my lovely steed hollers back, eager as ever. Epona was the obvious name choice; Celtic god of horses and everyone's favourite video game one to boot. It was Epona or Shadowmere, and well, odd as it sounds to say about a mount, she just seemed more like an Epona. Plus, the Shadowmere name is a censored word in escape, haha… I did consider Patrasche too, but that suits a lizard steed more don't you think? Indeed, Epona just fit right.

She trots briskly along the dirt path, in the distance our target, the 'surprise fortress', a castle of old aged stone right out of centuries past - bar for the fact every villager in these parts tells me it simply sprang up overnight!

It's in a nice area, surrounded by miles of rolling meadow, a large mountain range to the south, and a little hill leading up to its weather-beaten walls. I must look absolutely dashing, winding my way up to it! My gorgeous 6'5 frame, gleaming abs, stellar six pack and muscle galore, topped by a perfect head of luscious blond locks. Ah, well, without an audience, who am I to expose my avatar's virtues to? And audiences seem to get smaller by the day lately.

Still! Yes, curse my soul, I am a character menu savant, taking the clunky and creating lifelike masterworks in any game I can get my hands on. And when it came to Escape, the ultimate one-way game, you just know I spent a whole day getting it perfect! Truly, if any see me coming from those old walls ahead, they must be dazzled by my grandeur.

Said tower is no less imposing up close, I must say. I expertly dismount Epona mid-trot and begin my ascent up the last few steps. A fort appearing like this strongly implies a player base. I sure hope so anyway. By Jove, has the southerly leg of my expedition been rather lonesome, bar for dear-faithful horse that is.

Despite its appearance to the contrary - before the stalwart and wide entrance door of dark hardwood and metal rivets - a plain doorbell prompt appears on my system menu when I motion to knock. Nothing else for it!

'Ping, Pong~'
