Chapter 1:

Chapter 1: -- "And Then She Moved In" -- (Season 1 Episode 1)

CRASHcrush - Vol. 1

Riku Aozora, a 15-year-old boy, lives with his dad. One day, his father is leaving town because of a new job he just got hired for. Before he leaves, he hands a letter from the mail to Riku. Riku’s father then heads out, leaving Riku alone to read the message.

The message is from his childhood friend, Mika Hanabira — a clumsy, weird, not-so-normal but funny girl. He hasn’t seen her since third grade, when they were split up because of her mother’s job, which forced them to move to another city.

Riku sighs and opens the mail to read Mika's letter.

“Dear Riku, Remember me? You probably don’t. I’m that walking disaster with the pigtails who broke your window. I’m coming back! Surprise! Also… I’m moving in! Your dad already knows.
See you soon, roommate! – Mika 🌸”

“She even drew a flower,” Riku muttered. “God, this is gonna be a nightmare.”

What Riku didn’t know was that Mika Hanabira — the clumsy, chaotic, impossible-to-ignore girl from his childhood — had been hiding a huge crush on him since the third grade. Not that she’d told anyone… except maybe her mom.
What she also didn’t know was that the crush would only grow stronger after reuniting with Riku.

After reading the letter, Riku sat on the couch sipping the coffee he’d just brewed. Suddenly—

CRASH!!!

An object came flying through the massive glass window in the living room, shattering it. Riku screamed in terror and anger as the glass broke. Then, someone stepped through the shattered window — it was Mika. Her first mistake had already happened within negative one second.

Mika stood there, looking down, feeling guilty.

“H-Hi, Riku. How are you?” Mika said in a shy, soft voice.

“MIKA??? YOU DID THIS?!” Riku yelled at the top of his lungs, frustrated and pissed. “WHAT THE HELL?? YOU BROKE MY WINDOW!”

“I-I’m sorry, Riku… I didn’t mean to…” Mika replied softly, staring at the floor.

“Didn’t mean to? Seriously? You shattered the whole damn window, Mika! It’s like your clumsiness leveled up since we were kids.”

Mika looked down, guilt and embarrassment written all over her face. “Sorry, Riku.”

“Yeah, sure. 'Sorry.' Like you’re not gonna break anything else in this house. Ugh… you haven’t changed at all! You’re still the same stupid clumsy girl that broke my window when we were ten. I bet you still trip on your own feet too?”

“Y-Yes. I still do. But it’s normal!” Mika said, annoyed, knowing Riku was trying to tease her.

“Heh, I knew it. You seriously haven’t changed at all. Still a clumsy, stupid girl who can’t walk down the street without tripping on air.” He shook his head, clearly not looking forward to living with his childhood friend.

Mika giggled, knowing Riku was just being a grumpy guy. “And you’re still the funny grumpy guy from when we were ten… hahaha!”

Riku blushed slightly but hid it with an annoyed scoff. “I’m not a ‘funny grumpy guy.’ I’m just being realistic. You are a walking hazard. I can’t believe my dad allowed you to live here… you’re going to be a pain in the ass, I swear to god…” he muttered.

Mika’s thoughts began to swirl as she stared at Riku…
He was even cuter than she remembered.

Oh my god… just look at him… he’s even more handsome than when we were kids. I didn’t know he would grow up to be even hotter. Just look at his hair, eyes, mouth, everything… everything about him is perfect!

Mika continued to stare at Riku like a love-struck fool.

Riku notices Mika just staring and blushing. He tilted his head, clearly confused, and snapped his fingers in front of her face.

“Yo, Mika. Earth to Mika. Anyone in there, or are you planning to stare at the wall all day?”

“Oh yes yes im here… sorry… I was just thinking… about how our life would be now that we live together… hehe…”

“Oh yeah, it’s just gonna be perfect living with you. You’re gonna be tripping, breaking things, embarrassing me… oh boy, how exciting!”

“Oh come on Riku… just admit it’ll be fun being with your childhood best friend… plus summer vacation ends in a few days… we’ll be going to highschool together… EEEPPP!!!”

“Ugh, right. ‘Fun’... more like a constant headache…”

Riku then realizes Mika just squealed like a baby squirrel. She always did this when they were kids.

“Wait, did you just say ‘Eeep’ out loud? Seriously? You still do that squealing thing??”

Mika blushed in embarrassment but admitted it anyway.
“Y-Yeah… I still squeak and squeal…”

Riku let out a loud, amused laugh.
“Hahaha! Oh wow, I forgot about your little ‘squeaking’ thing. Seriously, you’re gonna be sixteen in a few months, but you still make sounds like when you were five? God, you’re so… you!”

He grinned, clearly amused. Despite his earlier irritation, he couldn’t help but find her childish habits a little endearing… not that he’d ever say that out loud.

“Yeah… I am…” Mika murmured, cheeks still warm.

His laugh is so cute and adorable… he’s so hot… I’ve got to make him realize that I’m hot and beautiful too… I have to make him fall for me!

“So, uhm… where am I gonna sleep?” she asked, changing the subject quickly.

Riku crossed his arms, thinking for a moment.
“Right, forgot about the sleeping situation. Well, I guess you can take the guest room. It’s next to mine. I hope you don’t snore loud or kick your sheets while you sleep… or talk in your sleep… or toss and turn… or… ugh, you don’t do any of those things, do you? Please tell me you sleep normally and quietly…”

“Uhm… well I sleep normal… I don’t snore or toss, but… I do have something to confess…”

He raised an eyebrow, now curious.
“A confession? Seriously? Now what — you sleepwalk or something? You don’t talk in your sleep… do you? Please say you don’t… I can’t handle that.”

“If I happen to drink something right before bed, there’s a high chance that I can… have… an accident… you know…”

Mika looked down at the floor, her cheeks burning a deep shade of red as she confessed her biggest secret — she still occasionally wet the bed.

Riku’s jaw dropped.
“You… YOU STILL PEE THE BED?? Seriously?? You’re almost sixteen and you still can’t control your bladder when you sleep? My god, you’ve got to be kidding me… Ugh, I swear, you’re like a toddler in a teenage body. How am I supposed to live in the same house as someone who pees themselves at night??”

“It only happens if I drink any beverages before I go to sleep…” she muttered.

Riku facepalmed.
“Oh great, so now I have to make sure you don’t drink water before bed. What’s next, do I have to check your diaper and give you a pacifier too? God, you’re like a human disaster waiting to happen…”

He rubbed his temples, the headache already setting in.

He’s so irritating and grumpy… but that’s exactly what draws me to him, Mika thought. He’s adorable, and somehow, his bad attitude just makes him even more attractive… and cuter… and… hotter…

“Uhm… shouldn’t we start to clean up the glass I accidentally shattered?” she asked hesitantly.

“Ugh, yeah, I guess we should clean up this mess you made. Seriously, Mika, you can’t go one minute without causing some kind of disaster, can you? At least try not to break anything else in the process.”

Riku shook his head and grabbed a broom and dustpan, starting to sweep up the broken glass. He mumbled to himself, still clearly annoyed.
“God, it’s gonna take forever to clean up all this glass…”

They both began cleaning the shattered glass. Meanwhile, Mika couldn’t help but steal glances at Riku — his face, his posture, everything about him was attractive. She just couldn’t stop.

He’s so hot… I’m gonna make him fall in love with me… just watch… I already have an idea… it’s called… IN LOVE WITH MIKA AND BECOME HER BOYFRIEND INFECTION… OR SOMETHING! Here goes nothing!

“Hey Riku…”

He glanced at her while sweeping, looking thoroughly unenthusiastic.
“Yeah? What is it now? If you’re gonna say ‘sorry’ again, save it. I’ve heard it a thousand times already…”

Mika brushed her blonde pigtails and stood up, suddenly all bubbly and girly, striking what she believed to be her “hottest” pose.

Romantic music swelled in her imagination. Sparkles floated across the screen. The camera zoomed in dramatically.

Riku stared… completely unmoved. Dead silence.

He stopped sweeping, blinking at her in utter confusion.
“Um, Mika… what the hell are you doing? Why are you posing like that?” He paused. “Seriously?” He facepalmed.

“How do I look… Riku?” she asked with a giggle, still holding her pose and trying to appear as cute as possible.

He groaned.
“Ugh, seriously? You look ridiculous. You’re not being cute. You just look like you’re trying way too hard…”

He crossed his arms, gave her an unimpressed glance, then went back to sweeping.

Shoot! It didn’t work… time for plan B! she thought in a panic.

“I mean like, how do I look? I just… I met this guy on a dating app and I—”

WHAT AM I SAYING??? I’M RUINING MY CHANCES WITH RIKU!!!

Riku froze. His irritation was now mixed with something new — a tinge of jealousy.
“Wait, hold on… a dating app? You’re meeting up with some random guy from the internet? Are you serious?” He paused, trying to process. “And you’re asking me… how you look? … Why???”

“Uhh… no, I’m not dating anyone… I just…”

Great, just casually turning this into a full-blown disaster… she thought. But wait — what if I pretend I ate way too much and now I really gotta go… number two? Ha! Brilliant! Absolute powered genius! Mika, you sneaky little mastermind!

“Riku, where’s your bathroom? I ate some spicy noodles and it’s messing my stomach up! I really need to go…”

He sighed and set the broom down.
“It’s down the hall, first door on the left. Try not to make a mess in there too, like you do with literally everything else…”

Mika sprinted to the bathroom and locked the door behind her. Riku resumed sweeping, completely unfazed.

You’re making a fool out of yourself… Mika thought as she stood in front of the bathroom mirror. Get yourself together or Riku’s only going to think of you as some love-struck idiot… deep breath…

Still sweeping glass, Riku sighed and shook his head as he heard the lock click.
“God, this girl is a walking disaster…” he muttered. He leaned on the broom handle, glancing toward the bathroom door. “Please don’t break anything in there…”

You can do this, Mika… no messing up this time, she told herself. All you need to do is get Riku to stare and fall for you… simple, right?

Mika stepped out of the bathroom and walked toward him. Riku looked up, slightly worried about her supposed stomachache.

“You alright? You said you had stomach problems…”

“Stomach ordeal? What are you— OH. Oh… yeah. My stomach. Acting up. Heh… I ate spicy noodles and it gave me the runs… hahaha… ha…”

She laughed awkwardly. Riku stared at her. Something was off, but he shrugged and went back to sweeping.

“Uh-huh, sure… spicy noodles…” he muttered, raising an eyebrow again. He watched her carefully for a moment, sensing something wasn’t right.

“Yeah… spicy noodles… so uhh… how’s the sweeping going?” she asked quickly, trying to deflect.

He gave her a long, exasperated glare.
“Well, it would be going a lot better if I didn’t have a human wrecking ball as a house guest. Seriously, Mika, you broke the damn window literally the second you stepped into the house.”

“Sorry… but how do we cover the giant shattered glass wall? It’s like everybody can just walk through while we’re sleeping…”

Riku sighed, leaning on the broom again.
“Oh, great. Now I have to worry about potential burglars breaking in through the window because you shattered the damn glass. Thanks a lot, Mika.”

He rubbed his temples, clearly stressed.

“We’ll call a carpenter tomorrow, first thing. Until then, I guess I’ll have to find something to cover the window… God, why is everything you do so chaotic, Mika?”

“Sorry, Riku… let me help you find something to cover the shattered glass wall! I’m good at finding things!”

He shrugged.
“I guess that’s about the only thing you’re sorta good at… Fine, sure, help me. But don’t get distracted and end up causing another disaster.”

Mika walked over to a shelf filled with Riku’s rare collectible items — cans, action figures, toys, pens, and even massive teddy bears, all perfectly arranged.

“Hey Riku… how about we use these giant teddy bears to cover the wall?”

He looked over — and froze in horror.

The shelf was ruined. Teddy bears and rare items were scattered across the floor.

“WHAT IN THE WORLD?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!”

He ran over, heart sinking.

“These aren’t just teddy bears! These are my rare collectibles! Do you know how hard it was to get them all in mint condition?!”

“Ooh, you collect items? How fun!”

“Yes, I collect items… rare, expensive, and very well-organized items. Items that I’ve worked hard to keep in perfect condition… that you just knocked over!”

Mika looked down in guilt.
“Sorry, Riku…”

He continued picking up teddy bears, clearly still irritated.
“Sorry? That’s it? Just sorry? You just destroyed my perfectly organized collection, Mika. Do you even realize how much time and effort I put into this? Not to mention the cost…”

“I’M REALLY SORRY, RIKU!” she wailed, suddenly clinging to him and shaking him like a rag doll. “I KNOW I’M THE WORST EVER! I UNDERSTAND YOU’RE MAD BUT I WANT YOU TO KNOW THAT I’M SORRY! I KNOW I CAN BE A PAIN IN THE BUTT LIKE I ALWAYS WAS SINCE WE WERE TEN YEARS OLD!!!”

His patience broke.
“God damn it, Mika! Stop shaking me! I get it, you’re sorry! But you’re also a walking disaster and a constant pain in the ass! You couldn’t go five seconds without causing something to go wrong!”

“I’m sorry, Riku… can I help—”

“No! NO! JUST… JUST NO!!!”

Riku cut her off, fed up with her apologies and never-ending clumsiness.

“You just messed up my entire collection, so no way in hell am I letting you touch anything else. All you’ll do is wreck it again and make a bigger mess than before!”

“What about the shattered glass wall? How are we gonna cover it up?” Mika asked softly.

“I’ll handle the glass wall. You just sit there and DON’T. TOUCH. ANYTHING. Can you do that for me, Mika? Just sit there and don’t cause any more disasters for five damn minutes?”

“Yeah well, it’s getting late anyway… and I am tired… I’ll just go to sleep, Riku. Goodnighty nighty night!”

He rolled his eyes, relieved she was finally giving it a rest.
“Good. Go to bed, Mika. Maybe I’ll finally get some damn peace and quiet…”

He muttered under his breath, still fuming over the broken glass and his ruined collectibles.

Mika walked toward the guest room, unpacked her bags, slipped into her pajamas, and lay on the bed. But all she could think about… was Riku.

Riku… you’re so hot… and handsome… I can’t believe you didn’t fall for my IN LOVE WITH MIKA AND BECOME HER BOYFRIEND INFECTION! Ugh… how can I sleep when all I can think of is that handsome face of yours? I gotta try… I gotta try… just keep thinking about sheep jumping over the fence… 1 sheep, 2 sheep, 3 sheep, 4—Riku? Why are you jumping on the fence? What’s going on? Get away, Riku, I’m trying to sleep! Let me count my sheep! Ahhh. There we go. 5 sheep, 6 sheep, 7 sheep…

Meanwhile, Riku headed for the garage to find some cardboard. He sighed heavily as he walked.

“Seriously, can’t trust her with anything… why’d she have to mess up my damn collectibles? Those were my pride and joy, and now they’re a mess thanks to her… Goddamn clumsy girl…”

He grabbed a cardboard box and carried it toward the shattered window.

“God, this is gonna be a temporary fix for now… can’t wait until the carpenter comes tomorrow… sigh… and of course, Mika’s already asleep…”

He taped the cardboard over the window. It wasn’t perfect, but it’d have to do. He stepped back to inspect his handiwork.

“There… that should hold until tomorrow… I hope…”

The next morning:

Riku sat on the couch sipping his coffee, enjoying the rare peace and quiet. He tried to relax, though Mika’s chaos still lingered in the back of his mind. He pushed the thought aside… at least for now.

But then—footsteps shuffled down the hall.

“AHEM! Riku…”

Mika stood in the living room in her pajamas, bubbly and girly, trying her best to get his attention.

Riku didn’t even look up from the TV.

“Seriously, Mika? What are you trying to do? You look like you’re posing for a photo shoot or something. And why are you still in your pajamas? It’s already past morning. Do you even realize that?”

“Oh, uhm… right… I forgot to change, I guess…”

“Oh, right. You ‘forgot’ to change. Of course you did. Why am I not surprised? You’re so damn clumsy and forgetful, you can’t even remember to get dressed.”

He took another sip of his coffee and gave her a disapproving look.

Dammit… it didn’t work… AGAIN… NEVERMIND… Mika thought in frustration. He can’t find out I’m trying to make him fall for me… think, Mika… come up with a good excuse… oh this one’s good!

“O-Oh, uhm… I’m standing weird because… uh… I have to pee really badly… like… really bad… but I’m holding it in… heh…”

Pee so badly? REALLY? How stupid can you be, Mika?

Riku rolled his eyes and shook his head.

“Really? You’re standing like that because you have to pee? You look like you’re posing for a modeling audition or something. And why are you holding it in? The bathroom’s right there. Go before you have an accident, for crying out loud.”

“Y-Yeah… I’ll do that…”

He sighed in relief as she left the room, finally enjoying a brief moment of peace.

“Finally… some peace and quiet again…”

He continued sipping his coffee, his focus finally returning to his show.

Mika leaned against her bedroom door, sighing to herself.

Why is it so hard to get him to like me back? Why is he being so stubborn? But that’s what I love about him. That’s what makes him hot. His stubborn, annoyed expressions all the time. Oh, Riku. You hot boy…

Meanwhile, Riku kept watching TV, blissfully unaware of Mika’s dreamy thoughts.

Mika opened her closet, determined.

I need the perfect outfit. These will look so good on me. Yay! I can’t wait to see Riku’s reaction to these beautiful clothes!

She slipped into a skirt and shirt combo, then stepped out into the living room, bubbly and girly once again.

“H-How’s my clothes, Riku? How do I look?”

He glanced up.

“Yeah, nice clothes. They’re fine. At least you’re not wearing your pajamas anymore. That’s an improvement.”

“Yay…” Mika said softly as she turned around to get some water from the kitchen.

But Riku’s eyes widened. He noticed something. Her skirt… was see-through.

“GAAAH! MIKA, YOUR SKIRT’S SEE-THROUGH!!! WHY ARE YOU JUST STANDING THERE?!?”

Mika spun around, covering her butt as her face turned crimson. She realized — in horror — she’d accidentally worn the transparent skirt she usually wore around the house.

CRAP! I CHOSE THE WRONG SKIRT!!!

“I DIDN’T KNOW! I CHOSE THE WRONG SKIRT! ALSO WHY WERE YOU STARING AT MY BUTT, HUH???”

Riku blushed bright red, flustered and panicked.

“Wh-what do you mean ‘why was I staring’? I didn’t mean to! You turned around and—bam!—there it was! I didn’t know it was see-through! I wasn’t staring on purpose, I swear!”

“BUT YOU SAW MY BUTT! I CAN’T BELIEVE THIS!!!”

“I know, okay?! But it was an accident! I didn’t mean to look! You just turned around and—bam! There it was! Honest!”

“I’m walking back to my room to change! DON’T LOOK!”

Riku quickly spun around, facing the wall.
“I won’t look, I swear! I’ll keep my eyes averted!”

Mika backed into her room, eyes locked on him the whole time. Once inside, she slammed the door shut.

God… that was the most embarrassing thing that’s ever happened to me. Riku saw my butt. My bare ass. This is a disaster!

Back in the living room, Riku was still red-faced, trying to focus on the TV.

God, how could I let that happen? Why did her skirt have to be see-through… ugh… stop thinking about it… just focus on the TV, dammit…

Mika walked back into the living room with a new skirt, her cheeks still red and her expression clearly annoyed.

“Hey…” she mumbled.

Riku turned his head to face her, still feeling the heat in his own cheeks. He cleared his throat, trying to sound composed.

“Hey… you, uh… changed your skirt, I see. Thank god. That other one was… well…”

He trailed off, trying not to let his mind revisit what he'd accidentally seen.

“You don’t have to remind me,” Mika muttered, glaring at him.

“Right, right, sorry… But at least you’re not walking around with your butt hanging out anymore.”

He tried to maintain a neutral tone, though the smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth betrayed him.

“Yeah yeah… whatever…” Mika groaned. “Anyways, is the carpenter coming to fix the window I broke yesterday?”

Riku nodded, thankful for the subject change.
“Yeah, he’s supposed to be coming today. Hopefully, he’ll fix it without any issues. And hopefully, you’ll refrain from causing any other disasters while he’s here.”

Mika gave him a small, nervous glance.
“Well… I was hoping we could go shopping?”

He raised an eyebrow.
“Shopping? Seriously? After the whole window thing and the… outfit incident earlier… you want to go shopping? Don’t you think you’ve caused enough chaos for one day?”

Mika tilted her head and gave him the dreaded puppy dog eyes.
“Pretty please…”

Riku sighed. Those damn eyes were impossible to resist.

“Ugh… fine. We can go shopping. But you have to promise me that you’ll behave yourself and not cause any mischief, okay? No breaking anything, no more wardrobe malfunctions, and no clumsy accidents. Can you do that?”

He silently prayed she wouldn’t screw it up… or embarrass him in public.

“YAY! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! I promise I won’t screw up! Thank you! You’re the best, Riku!”

She hugged him tightly, clinging to him like a child. She had always been like that since they were kids.

He sighed.
“Yeah, yeah… just don’t get too clingy, alright? We’re just going shopping, not going on a honeymoon. No need to act like a little koala all day.”

He gently pushed her off him.

“Hey! Don’t push me!” she pouted. “Anyway, you don’t have to worry about a thing, Riku. Let’s go shopping!”

Riku sighed again as he stood up from the couch and grabbed his wallet and phone.

“Alright, fine. Let’s go. But don’t you dare try to drag me into the girly stores, got it? I’m only doing this because you won’t stop bugging me if I say no.”

“I promise I won’t! Any store is fine for me!” she chirped, barely hiding her excitement.

They both grabbed their coats and left the house, walking toward the city. Eventually, they arrived at Seiyu — a popular grocery store that also sold clothing. Riku liked it because it was affordable and practical.

He let out an annoyed sigh as they stepped inside.
“Alright. We’re in the store now. Try to act as normal as you can and don’t make me look bad, alright?”

Mika nodded silently, already darting off to browse for clothes, cute items, and snacks.

Oh my god, oh my god… I can’t believe I’m shopping with Riku! she thought excitedly. After years of not seeing each other, we’re not only living together, but now we’re shopping?! I’m shopping with a handsome boy… who just happens to be my crush!

Meanwhile, Riku browsed the clothing racks.

“Alright, let’s see… what’s worth getting here… maybe some new shirts or something…”

Mika stood just behind him, admiring him like a lovesick puppy.

So cute… mmm.

He picked up a few shirts, examining each one.

“Hmm… not bad, not bad… Oh, this one’s cool… Nope, too ugly… Ooh, I like this one…”

His voice is so charming. So beautiful. So. Handsome!

He held one shirt up, nodded in approval, and added it to his basket.

“This one’s a keeper. Alright, I think I’ve got enough for now. What about you, Mika? Have you found anything yet, or are you just here to stare at me like a creep?”

He turned around — and caught her staring at him dreamily.

“Huh, what?” she snapped out of it. “Oh, sorry! I was just thinking about what to get, hehe… I think maybe I’ll get some of my favorit—”

Her eyes widened as she spotted a shelf nearby.

“RIKUUUUU! THEY HAVE THE MILKY CUPCAKES! THE LEGENDARY FLUFFY MILKY MOIST MAGIC CUPCAKES EVER!!! EEEPPP!!!”

Riku flinched as her voice echoed through the store, drawing glares from nearby shoppers. He facepalmed.

“Shhhhh!!! Calm down, would you?! Seriously, you’re making a scene! And are you really screaming over a cupcake?”

But Mika didn’t care. She bounced excitedly.

“CAN WE GET IT??? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASSSSEEEEEEEE?!”

He sighed, resigned.

“Fine, fine. We’ll get some goddamn cupcakes. Just stop yelling, for the love of God! People are going to think we’re insane…”

“YAY! You’re the best, Riku!”

He rolled his eyes.
“Yeah, yeah… just don’t get overly excited. It’s just a damn cupcake.”

He grabbed several packs of Milky Cupcakes and placed them in the basket.

Then—disaster.

Mika, spinning around with excitement, wasn’t watching where she was going. She bumped into a shelf. The entire thing collapsed.

Everything fell.

Shocked gasps echoed through the store.

Riku turned — and his face drained.

Mika looked back at him, sheepish.

“Oopsie doopsie…”

“ARE YOU SERIOUS RIGHT NOW?! CAN YOU NOT GO FIVE GODDAMN MINUTES WITHOUT CAUSING A DISASTER?!”

“I-I didn’t m-mean to…”

A store worker approached them, calm but firm.

“Sir, ma’am. I’m gonna have to ask you to leave.”

Riku rubbed his temples, utterly mortified.
“Yeah, yeah, we’re leaving… Sorry about the mess…”

He grabbed Mika by the arm and guided her toward the exit, furious.

“Wait, b-but… the legendary fluffy milky moist magic cupcakes… what about them?” she whimpered.

“Forget the damn cupcakes! We don’t need them! We just need to get out of here before the situation gets worse!”

“I want da cupcakeeeeeee…”

“For the last time, we’re not getting the damn cupcakes! You’ve caused enough trouble already. And stop acting like a goddamn child. You’re not five anymore!”

Mika crossed her arms, pouting.
“I’m sorry, Riku. Sorry I embarrassed you…”

“Yeah, you should be sorry. You’ve been a walking disaster all day. First the window, then your outfit incident, and now this… Honestly? We’re done for the day. No more shopping. I’ve had enough of your disasters for one day. Thank you so much for ruining it, Mika!”

“B-But—”

“NO. Just… just no. Let’s just head home. I think we’ve had enough excitement for the day…”

Mika sighed, annoyed and embarrassed, but nodded. The two of them walked home in silence. Riku glanced at her out of the corner of his eye, still feeling a mix of exhaustion, embarrassment, and frustration.

He said nothing.

He just sighed and kept walking — praying for a little peace and quiet… at least for a few minutes.
