The portal opened slowly.
And Riven was there.
Standing in an inverted chamber —The ceiling below, the floor above.Time moved slowly. He didn’t blink. His magic had turned a deep, frozen blue. Still as ice.
— You came for me, he said, emotionless.
Lyana stepped forward.
— We’re here to bring you back.
He raised his scepter.
— I’m already gone.
The battle erupted.
Riven controlled inverted gravity. He made their attacks fall upward, toward the sky.He pushed the walls toward them.He reversed time in a five-second radius.
But Mira, analyzing the magic waves, managed to desynchronize his rhythm.Theo stabilized the surrounding field using his inner resonance.Lyana shattered the distortions with her shield. And Akaru struck.
His blade connected.
Blood. Real.Riven staggered.
— Why… didn’t you let me go? he whispered.
Then, he vanished into an escape circle.
— He’s still fighting inside, said Theo.
— He’s hurting… but he’s alive, added Akaru.
But Saya said nothing.
