Chapter 13:

Joint training 2

Shadow Exister (volume 1)

It was the last day of the joint training, and all the nations from the same continent had gathered. No one was absent. For the final session, the allied forces would train in the air.

Each member of the allied forces was equipped with an artifact that allowed them to float in the air. These artifacts were part of their preparations for investigating the magical disaster. They would wear these when they met the cause of the catastrophe.

Arga and Arjuna were going to showcase their strongest magic during this final training, while also evaluating the progress of the joint training.

Arga began preparing his spell circle.

A beautiful spell circle formed beneath his feet.

The magical circle was a vibrant blue, like lapis lazuli, with circles and triangles containing two stars.

"Lan karmo rupo dadi pusoko wujud rogo," Arga chanted.

Arga transformed into a gigantic figure, his body towering like two stacked mountains with four massive arms.

This was one of Arga’s majestic-class relic magic, his strongest spell.

Had the allied forces never participated in the joint training, they would have been trembling in fear by now. But having undergone the intense sessions, there was no sign of fear.

Their faces were prepared for what was to come. They knew that fear would be their death.

Arjuna also prepared his spell circle.

A magical circle formed beneath his feet.

The design was stunning: ruby red, with a circle and triangle containing three stars.

"Sukmo rekso lan rupo kan asmo," Arjuna chanted.

His body transformed into that of a golden eagle, with a human upper body and a pair of human hands.

This was one of Arjuna’s majestic-class relic spells, a spell of tremendous power.

The allied forces quickly prepared their own spell circles.

They began chanting spells for attack.

Arga swung his right hand at the allied forces.

With the protective magic from their group, the allied forces managed to block Arga’s enormous hand.

Arjuna flapped his wings, and a few feathers detached, turning into arrows that shot toward the allied forces.

"Protection!" one of the allied soldiers shouted.

Quickly, they formed a protective spell circle and chanted, stopping the arrows before they could hit anyone.

Arjuna rushed toward the allied forces.

They knew that most of them believed that attacking would lead to their defeat.

With incredible flexibility, they adjusted their formation.

Most of the allied forces prepared their spell circles and chants for protection.

One soldier from the allied forces used magic to ward off the wind.

Arjuna appeared before him.

"Now!" another soldier of the allied forces shouted.

The entire allied force prepared their spell circles and attack chants.

Arga struck with the lower part of his right hand.

"Protection!" another soldier shouted.

Most of the allied forces prepared defensive spells, successfully deflecting Arga’s attack.

"Majestic-class magic, attack!" another soldier called.

Several of them prepared their majestic-class spells for offense.

Arjuna flew backward.

Flapping his wings again, some of his feathers turned into arrows.

The arrows soared and circled the allied forces.

"Deflect them!" a soldier from the allied forces called out.

Most of the soldiers quickly prepared their spell circles and chants to deflect Arjuna’s arrows.

And they succeeded.

Arjuna prepared another spell circle.

This time, the circle formed beneath his feet.

A complex and beautiful circle in emerald green.

"Togo rekso kan asmo nganti sukmo," Arjuna chanted.

A blue light enveloped Arjuna.

Arga raised all four of his arms.

The wind howled violently.

Once again, the allied formation faltered.

But within minutes, they had regained their position.

Their new formation was more solid and organized than ever before.

Even the intense winds from Arga couldn’t break their line.

"This is just joint training, but imagine you’ll die here!" Arga shouted.

Without mercy—

Arjuna prepared yet another spell circle.

An intricate design formed above his head, glowing as blue as lapis lazuli.

"Lan roso sukmo dino panjer rogo kan wiseso," Arjuna chanted.

From the empty air, thousands of astral soldiers materialized.

The astral army charged toward the allied forces.

"Protect!" a soldier from the allied forces yelled.

They knew they couldn’t defeat the astral soldiers with physical attacks. A few soldiers prepared their spell circles and chants, ready to face Arjuna’s astral army.

Arjuna rushed toward the allied forces.

"Scatter formation!" another soldier called.

The allied soldiers split into a formation resembling a blooming rose.

They knew this was just training, but the training provided by Arga and Arjuna was harsh. It was as intense as a battlefield.

To an ordinary person, it might have seemed like an unreasonable exercise. But to knights, it was the exact kind of training they needed.

This rigorous training was also something Arjuna had prepared in case something unexpected happened. From Prince Dein’s report, it seemed that the magical disaster was being controlled by someone. If the allied forces encountered the mastermind behind the disaster, they could easily be killed, which is why Arjuna had prepared such a difficult training regimen.

If the mastermind of the magical disaster were just one person, this training might indeed be excessive. But to prevent the worst-case scenario—if there were more than one mastermind—it was precisely the kind of preparation needed.

Some of the allied forces began preparing their majestic-class spells.

Spell circles of various colors and patterns formed beneath their feet.

They simultaneously chanted their spells.

Various magical attacks were aimed at Arjuna.

"Don’t forget protection!" a soldier from the allied forces shouted.

They suddenly remembered something—Arjuna had summoned thousands of astral soldiers.

At this moment, their defenses were weakening.

Several began chanting protective spells.

One soldier made a mistake while chanting.

"What are you doing, you fool?" another soldier barked.

The astral soldiers charged toward the mischanter.

One soldier pushed the mischanter away.

The astral soldiers’ attack missed.

"Focus, everyone!" an allied soldier commanded.

"We’re in training, keep your focus!" the soldier who had pushed the mischanter said.

The mischanter could only nod, aware of his mistake. He didn’t want to cause further disruption to the formation.

He quickly prepared a new spell circle.

A deep blue ocean circle with a complex design appeared above him.

He chanted quickly, and the formation was restored.

The soldier who had helped him refocus returned to his task.

He prepared a protective spell circle beneath his feet, with a complex emerald green design.

One of the astral soldiers appeared behind him.

With calm precision, he kicked the astral soldier backward.
