Chapter 6:

Misunderstanding

The Devourer of Destiny

An endless expanse of flowers. The fragrance of each petal is carried by the warm breeze. The serene sky exuded eternal peace. The figure of a man dressed all in black stood looking up at the sky with a puzzled expression. He was clueless about his surroundings and the situation.

Walking for a few steps forward. Barefoot, he stepped on the flower field and looked around for something. It was so quiet that it made the heart uneasy, the man then paused for a moment and then resumed walking with the intention of getting out of this place.

Dozens to countless steps. It doesn't feel like moving as if it's just standing in place. The end is completely invisible, like a dead end, but also not. The man then stopped walking again.

"Where is this?"

The man turned around, looked back, then suddenly all the flower fields that looked like a heavenly realm now turned into a hell realm. Surprised by this, he tumbled down. A second later he literally fell out of the flower field and landed on the hard, fiery ground.

Mahendra woke up with a start. His breathing was unsteady and his whole body was shaking. It took some time for him to fully wake up from the nightmare. He sighed for a moment then turned his head to the side and saw several people.

Liliana smiled happily as she watched Mahendra finally wake up. She walked over and muttering to herself.

"A strange person who doesn't wear shoes everywhere. His mannerisms also seem to be hiding a lot of things. I'm sure it's him."

"Hey, where is this?" Mahendra asked in his own language. Liliana was even happier when she realized he didn't understand him.

"You're not saying things I don't understand. I'm glad to meet you, Devourer Destiny." Liliana bowed, saluting him.

Last time Mahendra knew, he had lost his mind due to the effects of his curse. He also vaguely remembered hurting someone. Mahendra's eyes were busy searching for the person he had injured but he couldn't find him at all.

"That's bad." Mahendra stood up awkwardly after hearing the familiar words from Liliana's mouth again.

Devourer Destiny was a term he heard often. Mahendra was sick of it, especially when he had to stare at the skull in front of him. It was a sight he was not used to. He slowly took a step back until his foot hit the edge of the ship.

"Mr. Devourer Destiny, I am Liliana at your service. Whatever you wish to do, I will do it."

Not only Liliana, but all the crew on this ship were also very respectful to him. In a hurry, Mahendra searched for his piece of language paper that was inside his clothes, once he found it he quickly looked up what the woman was talking about.

"I'm not who you're talking about," Mahendra said.

"Sorry?" Liliana didn't seem to understand. Not because their languages were different because Mahendra spoke the language of this world, but because Liliana didn't quite understand what the man was saying.

His red eyes blinked for several times. His pale face looked panicked, with cold sweat running down his back.

"I'm not a Devourer Destiny! I'm just a cursed person! Where are you taking me in the middle of the sea like this?" Mahendra asked looking around.

It seemed as if the entire crew was helpless before him. However, there was one man who bravely raised his legs and arms and walked slowly over to Mahendra. The man's face showed deep anger.

"You've been given a heart, but you don't know yourself. We were blind because we thought you were understanding. I kept quiet before but not this time!"

The man half ran while raising his sword. Liliana screamed for mercy and tried to restrain her crew from acting rashly. However, it was all for naught. The one who dared to act was now right in front of Mahendra's eyes.

Bones that couldn't show the slightest expression were pointing their weapons at him. Mahendra gritted his teeth in anger as he recalled old memories.

"It turns out to have bad intentions!" Mahendra stretched his hand forward, all the ancient spells breaking free again and showing their terrifying power. The man who had intended to attack just now collapsed on the spot.

His body lay rigid, his internal and external wounds rendering him helpless. Let alone that, he couldn't even open his mouth. Faced with such overwhelming power, the man was truly shocked and felt extremely regretful, even though his anger hadn't subsided.

Mahendra turned around. As far as the eye could see there was only the ocean, he couldn't run away from here and his suspicions were growing, making him so angry. Liliana and the others couldn't understand why he was so angry. However, she didn't know what to do other than duck down until her head hit itself.

Surprised by the loud crash, Mahendra immediately turned his head and instantly his aura pressure disappeared. Everyone was freed from the heavy gravity. Likewise, Liliana was finally able to raise her head in an injured condition, and she was even able to smile.

"Thank you for being merciful to us," Liliana said.
"Tell me, where are you taking me?" asked Mahendra.
"Answer sir, I would like to take you to the Western Region. I happen to have business there as well."

Living in another world alone didn't make Mahendra let his guard down because of one or two people. A lot had happened to him over the past few days and made him uneasy.

After standing in the sun for a while, Mahendra began to feel dizzy and the wound on his shoulder reopened. He thought the shoulder wound should have healed but it didn't. Then he fell down, sitting on the edge of the ship while enduring the pain.

"Mr. Devourer Destiny!"

The man's piercing gaze made Liliana stand still and afraid. Her intention to help was not well received, so Liliana took a step back and could only watch as he whimpered in pain.

"Captain, are you sure he's the one?"

"Yes. With his strength just now, he is indeed that person. It's just that I'm afraid that the gods in the Upper Realms are aware of his existence."

"We should indeed hide first."

This pirate group was often called The Sun. They were actually good people and only hijacked evil sea vessels throughout the seas of this world.

"By the way, What about Dio?" Liliana asked about the condition of her crew who was angry at Mahendra.
One of her medical subordinates came out of the room and said, "The wound is very difficult to heal."

It took another day to reach the destination. By that night, almost all of the crew were exhausted. Except for Liliana, who was busy reading the map, Mahendra entered the room where the sick were being treated. The two people lying weak with obvious physical injuries made Mahendra feel a little guilty.

"Did I misunderstand them? But, I did it to protect myself." Mahendra sighed for a moment and then extended his palm toward their wounds and absorbed them into his body. After he absorbed them, the wound on Mahendra's shoulder was healed.
