Chapter 2:
Mentor Me Harder
Lena sets up the mat on the living room floor with a sigh.
Out of the corner of her eye, she watches Yui unzip her tiny backpack and yank out a full-sized Crimson body pillow like she’s performing a magic trick.
How the hell did she fit that in there?
She glances at the pillow, at Yui, then back at the pillow. Of course it has me on it.
Yui flops onto the mat, limbs tangled around the pillow like it’s a long-lost lover. She rolls back and forth, humming happily, occasionally nuzzling Lena’s printed face.
“Is that all you packed?” Lena asks.
She stops mid-roll and straddles the pillow, looks up at Lena with wide, shimmering eyes and a perfectly tragic pout.
Lena stares. Don’t make that face. It’s too cute.
“I brought my most cherished possessions,” Yui says sweetly. Her hips bounce on the pillow.
Lena’s eyes close. Nope… Her hips are still bouncing. Another image I can’t erase. She takes a deep breath as her eyes open.
Yui reaches into her backpack again and pulls out a shiny credit card.
She beams up at Lena with pleading eyes.
“I was hoping you’d take me shopping,” she says, voice sugary sweet. “I’ve never been to a big city before… and to do it… with you!” Her voice dips into a breathy moan, pupils morphing into literal pink hearts.
Lena blinks at her. Then turns without a word and disappears into her room.
How am I going to get through this?
A few seconds later, she returns cradling a neatly folded pair of plain white pajamas, holding them out.
Yui’s eyes sparkle. She snatches the pajamas, pressing them against her chest.
I’ll be wearing her clothes. That’s like… indirect cuddling!
She nuzzles the fabric like it’s Lena’s actual body. Then, without shame, starts sniffing them.
“What are you doing?”
Yui looks up slowly, an innocent smile spreading across her face.
“Just… nothing.”
Lena sighs.
“We’ll go shopping next week,” she mutters, then softens her tone. “Go take a bath. I’ll order food.”
She pauses, staring at Yui’s bright blue eyes.
“Is there anything you can’t eat?”
Her grin widens, shaking her head, but her entire body shimmies too.
Lena watches her hips sway before disappearing into the bathroom.
The hot water embraces Yui as she sits arms wrapped around her knees, chin resting on them. Her long hair’s twisted up into two tight buns.
She’s even hotter in real life. All serious and flustered. The awkward way she looks at me is so freaking cute.
Her finger traces slow, lazy hearts on the surface of the water with one fingertip. They dissolve as soon as they form. Her smile fades a little.
She’s not the Crimson I remember.
She looks so sad and lost.
I’ll fix her.
I’ll make her mine.
They sit at the kitchen table, takeout boxes spread between them.
Yui wears only the pajama top, a few buttons left undone, cleavage on display. The hem barely reaching her thighs. Every tiny shift of her body puts her panties on center stage.
She takes a bite. “Ngom,” her eyes flutter. “Mm… it’s so good,” she moans, mouth full.
Lena watches her lips part, tongue caresses the bite, chews slowly, swallows, then languidly licks her glossy lips like this is some kind of seductive foreplay.
This is going to be difficult. I can’t let her down.
“You already passed Academy training?” Lena asks.
Yui drops her chopsticks with a dramatic gasp, stands up, and strikes a full-body pose. One hand on her hip, one arm curled in a flex.
Her chest puffs out, pushing her butt out, panties on full display.
“It was super easy!” Yui chirps.
Lena chews her food slowly, eyes on her.
If she acted like this at the academy, they probably wanted her out, and fast.
Still… she has to be good. Right? They wouldn’t pass her if she wasn’t.
Yui continues eating, a tiny Ngom with each bite.
She looks up, locking eyes with Lena.
“Crimson? Why aren’t you married?”
Lena chokes, coughing violently, pounding her chest, trying to clear her throat. The water sloshes as she grabs her cup and gulps, breathless.
Yui tilts her head, innocent.
She coughs once more, clearing her throat. “My name is Lena. Not Crimson.”
“That doesn’t explain why you aren’t married, Lena.”
Lena pokes at her food like it might offer an escape.
“I… I never had time for that,” she mutters. “We marry the job.”
“That’s so sad,” Yui whispers, voice laced with exaggerated pity.
“It’s our choice,” Lena says quietly, almost to herself. “The job always comes first.”
Yui’s smile fades and her bubbly glow dims for the first time.
“I… I had no idea,” she murmurs, while she stares at her plate.
Lena watches her for a moment, guilt crawling up her spine. She straightens in her chair.
“Yui,” she says, gentler now. “Tell me about yourself.”
Her expression lights up. “I’ve always wanted to be a superhero!” she chirps, leaning forward on her elbows, dangerously close to spilling out of the pajama top. “I love manga, cooking, shopping… especially shopping. And someday I’ll publish my romance manga!”
She cracks the smallest grin, barely there.
“How old are you? Any siblings? Boyfriend?”
“I’m twenty,” Yui says, voice soft. “I have an identical twin sister… and I’m not into boys.”
Lena freezes.
A twin! A lesbian! Twin lesbians!
Her mind conjures all the wrong images of the twins. Down right naughty…things… that twins should never do! Stop it! Calm down, keep it professional.
“A twin, huh?” Her voice cracks. “What’s that like? Why isn’t she a superhero too?”
Yui glances down at her plate.
“She’s married.” Her fingers toy with her chopsticks. “I guess it’s like having a regular sister… but really close.”
Yui grins to herself, cheeks pink. She’s so cute when she’s flustered.
“That must be nice,” Lena says, voice soft. “Having a sibling that close.”
She smiles. “I’d ask about you, but I know everything! You’re five-seven, a hundred twenty-eight pounds. Your birthday is in August, and you’re rich!” Her smile fades. “Hey, why do you live here if you’re loaded?”
For the first time in ages, Lena lets out a small laugh. “I like my apartment, and that’s not everything there is to know about me.”
Challenge accepted. Yui smirks.
Lena takes a breath, steadying herself.
“Yui… I’m your mentor now. That means I’ll do everything I can to prepare you for the job, but you have to take this seriously. And be professional.”
She nods along like a bobblehead, smile unwavering, boobs bouncing with every single nod like her jiggle physics were leveled up.
Lena tries not to stare.
They clean up in silence. Something calm settles between them, weirdly domestic.
Lena switches off the kitchen light and enters the living room. She watches Yui snuggle the body pillow, a light novel already in hand like she’s been waiting all day for this.
With her pajamas in hand she heads for the bathroom.
“Her lips… hot against mine. Tongue sliding between my trembling…” Yui reads aloud with too much enthusiasm.
Lena stops mid-step, one hand on the bathroom doorframe.
“Yui, I swear to God!”
Arms draped along the sides of the tub, Lena stretches out in the water. The heat slowly soothing her aches. Her thoughts? Not so much.
Poor girl. She doesn’t know what she’s getting into.
Her fingers trail over the surface, watching the ripples fade away.
Just like I was. Bright-eyed, hopeful and unprepared.
Is it my job to tell her the truth?
She exhales, leaning her head back against the wall.
Probably not. But if I don’t… she’ll end up like the rest of us. Used up, broken, and dreaming of past glory days.
Lena exits the bathroom, hair damp, dressed in soft shorts and a loose pajama top. She freezes when she catches Yui staring.
Their eyes meet.
“Go to sleep,” Lena says, brushing past. “We’ve got a busy week ahead.”
Yui grins, wicked and sweet.
“Dream of me, Lena.”
She pauses at the light switch.
A slow grin threatens the corner of her mouth.
Click. Darkness.
