Prologue

I didn’t come here to be a hero.

I came here for cash.

Just another player trying to score a paycheck in Onlife, the most immersive VR game ever made. I thought I was just logging in to grind, maybe exploit a few glitches, and log out richer than I came in.

What none of us knew was that Onlife was never just a game.

We were forced into it, thrown into a real fantasy world with real danger. No respawns. No safety nets. Just magic, monsters, wars, and a dark mage trying to take over the world.

And somehow, I’m the one who can fight back.

Not because I’m brave. Not because I’m powerful.

But because I’m broken in ways the game and real life couldn’t control.

My name is Jack Gygaverne.

And I’m a Glitchwalker.
