Chapter 2:

Epilogue

ISEKAI

The banquet hall was a circle and its ceiling a dome of stained glass windows that broke the beams of the two suns currently lingering straight above the palace on the highest points of their respective arcs into thousands of little light-specks of every imaginable color which danced on the forlorn faces of the fifteen wives of the man whose withered body had been placed in the room's center atop an ancient table whose wooden surface had been restored twenty times throughout the many generations of kings and queens that had inherited it but whose legs which had been carved from the teeth of a long extinct subspecies of dragons shone as pristinely as on the day they had been forged by the mythical mastercraftsman Marius Spoonbucket whose wrinkly dwarven face had born no resemblence to the still beautiful features of the dead man atop this tabletop on top of whom rested countless flower bouquets which had been sent with genuine condolence by the royals of neighboring kingdoms and now dotted his body with blossoms blooming in every color of the rainbow so that one could have thought that the thousands of colorful specks dancing on the forlorn faces of the women surrounding him were actually a reflection of these flowers illuminated by whatever remained of the man's ungraspable human spark after his passing but no one thought that because that would have been a silly thing to think.

After taking turns giving him their last kisses which each lasted at least a minute and heavily involved their tongues the women lifted the table and carefully carried it towards the door and down three flights of stairs and over the courtyard where half the kingdom had gathered to express their grief by singing the king's favorite song which was a folksy tune entitled "Triple Baka" the language of origin of which none of them so they could only blindly guess at the celestial significance of its lyrics as the women carried the table through the castle gate and onto the draw-bridge seperating the palace from the neighbouring village where a clever thief was currently breaking into the empty houses of those who had assembled at the plaza and were now watching the women struggle to dump the man's body into the moat below until giving up and sending the youngest among them to fetch a spatula from the royal kitchen after which the plunging of the man's body into the water soon reverberated throughout the castle grounds and over the tree tops and maybe even within the shitty one-room apartment the man had used to call his home back on earth.

Thus ended the era of that guy. The fifteen women who had constituted his harem regrouped as a polycule and took over governing matters in a planetwide first foray into something resembling a democracy. The royal polycule ruled peacefully for many a year until being attacked and dethroned by another guy who had been isekaid in from a world inhabited by bipedal yak-people and soon founded his own harem which after his death transitioned into another democratic polycule which was itself dethroned by another guy from another world...

But that is a story for another day.
