Chapter 11:

Vol 1 Chapter 12: Clara’s Turning Point with the Blood Rose Princess

Blood Rose Princess Just Wants to Live in Peace with Her Little Daughter

Ten years ago, the world had yet to crack. And Clara… was still a young girl with eyes burning with idealism.

She was only 17, but her name was already filling the walls of the taverns and the kingdom’s newspapers: “Clara the Rose Kingdom’s Top Young Detective.” A new star shining brightly in the sky full of foul fog. Her hands had uncovered noble scandals, captured serial killers, imprisoned collective rapists, and made many hardened criminals cower helplessly in the courtroom with irrefutable evidence.

Many worshipped her, children imitated her gait, and the law guards made her a symbol of hope that the law was still alive. But all that was not enough for Clara.

“If justice only touches the surface, then who is the one who digs the deepest wounds?”

That question arose when she began investigating the Blood Rose Case.

The Case That Shook the Kingdom...

When nobles began to be found dead in gruesome circumstances—hanged from city pillars, beheaded, and crucified with blood strewn across the petals of wild red roses—the kingdom was shaken.

Each murder left a message:

“When the law of the kingdom is dead and tyrants are untouched, then I will become the law of blood. Blood for blood. Life for life." — Blood Rose Princess

Some shuddered, some cheered. The common people who had been trampled upon saw someone punishing the tyrants. But not Clara. She saw this as a form of wild revenge, a brutal anarchy that was against the principles of law. Clara vowed: she would reveal the identity of the executioner and bring her to justice.

Little did she know... that this was the beginning of the end of her innocence.

Investigation and Frustration...

For months Clara investigated the bloody trail. But every time she got close, the perpetrator disappeared like mist. Any evidence left at the scene did not lead to the perpetrator, but only strengthened the crimes of the victims. All the victims were nobles, all with long records of extortion, slave trade, corruption, hidden murders, and atrocities covered up by the influence of power.

They deserved to be punished.

But not this way.

“If the law can be overridden by the sword… then what good am I?”

But Clara’s investigation did not stop, until fate led her to that night—a night she would never forget.

First Encounter: In an Abandoned Church...

An old church outside the city, its ruins touched by the moonlight. Clara infiltrated alone, having realized that the killer’s next target would most likely be there tonight.

Sure enough. A corrupt noble was kneeling inside the collapsed altar. His body trembled, his mouth begging for mercy.

And before him, stood a woman with long silver hair, wearing a robe of blood roses. Her gaze was cold, but not fierce. Her hand held a sword, not shaking.

Blood Rose Princess.

Clara, hiding in the shadows, immediately activated an ability she had rarely used before: [Eye of Judgment].

Her eyes changed. She could see the soul of every human being. That noble soul—dark and almost thick, like a lump of old asphalt. But that wasn’t what made Clara freeze.

It was the soul of the woman in front of her.

White.

Shining.

Pure.

Not just like a baby who had yet to know the world. But like a holy entity that had burned away all lust, ambition, and ego. Her purity radiated a light that pierced Clara’s eyes—she could barely bear to look at it.

“That’s… impossible. Impossible…”

In the world that Clara knew, all adults had been tainted. Even her parents, her teachers, her colleagues. All had cloudiness. All. Without exception.

But that woman… no.

Dialogue Without a Sword...

The Blood Rose Princess turned her head slowly. Her gaze was not surprised. She saw Clara.

“Don’t follow me, Detective Clara,” her voice was soft, but clear. “I don’t want to taint your uncracked soul.”

Clara stepped out of hiding, her hands shaking. “Do you realize... what you did... was murder. You took a human life.”

Blood Rose nodded slowly. “I know.”

“Then how could you... how could your soul... be like that...?”

The woman was silent for a long time. Then she answered,

“Because I didn’t do it for myself. Not for revenge. Not for fame. Just to convey one message to the world... that if the law cannot protect the weak, then there will be a hand that holds the law back—even if it means paying with my own blood.”

Clara was speechless. Her eyes still caught that holy radiance. For the first time, the detective who always believed in black-and-white truth... could not decide what was right and what was wrong.

Turning Point...

That night, Clara didn't catch anyone.

She let the executioner go, because for the first time, she saw someone who was holier than the law itself.

After that, the Blood Rose case continued. But Clara never tried to chase after her again.

Since that night, she stopped considering Blood Rose as a criminal.

And secretly... she began to have respect.

And secretly too...since that night, Clara's world began to change. She began to believe, that someone pure could still be born in a rotten world.

And her name was Marry El Rose.

"Justice is not always black and white. Sometimes, justice walks in a red dress, dancing among blood and roses."
