"In life, there will be many losses, but we must never lose our kindness. If we hold on to it, then maybe we will reach a happy ending."

That's what my mother used to tell me... But things like that only happen in fairy tales, not in real life.

When I was around four years old, I had a caretaker who stayed by my side. He was like a father to me, because my real father never came to me.

My father never seen my face since the day I was born. He was the second biggest company owner.

When we spoke on the phone, he said he was too busy to visit.

But in reality, he had remarried... just four years after my mother died.

Yes... my mother died while giving birth to me.

I was used to play with my caretaker most, but after two years, he left me too.

He said, "I have been hired as an assitant for the owner of biggest company. His last name was Akito, I think... and he has a son too ...Soda, i guess."

"Once you told me you wished I could be your son... So, do you feel the same for that Soda too?" I asked.

"Yes," he said. " I wish he could be my son. I'd definitely be happy."

Hearing that from the person I called father...
it left me a deep hole in my heart.

"So you are leaving me like everyone else does? Great. Go ahead..."
That's all I could say.

After some day I listened something familar

"Soda comeback here i will catch you this time for sure."

When I looked at Soda, he seemed like the kind, perfect child of a loving family.
And at that moment, I thought...

"The caretaker was right. He is better than me."

But after a while, someone spoke to me...
not because of my family, or money, or status...

She talked to me because something only her heart could see:
The sadness in my eyes.

She said, "Hey, why are you sitting here all alone? Why aren't you playing with the others? It looks like you're sad about something."

In that moment... all I could think about was her.

I whispered, "You're so beautiful..."

Of course, she heard me... and she was blushed from ear to ear.

By the time I realized what I had said, It was already too late.

"N-no, no, that's not what I meant! I mean, yes, you're beautiful... I mean... you're kind! I mean... thank you! I stammered.

She laughed softly and said,
"You're really funny. And by the way, you are not beautiful... you're cute."

"C-cute? Me? No way... If I were really cute, my family wouldn't have left me."

Oh really? she said.

Suddenly she huged me.

And of course, my face was turned completely red...

It was my first time anyone hugged me.

She gently whispered,
"You know... I don't have a father or mother. Not even brothers and sister. I only have my butler, who is been raising me."

"So... I understand how you feel."

"Thank you for your words... but could you not leave me now? Everyone's staring at me because you hugged me." I said, my face still burning red.

Then she finally felt all the gazes on us from everyone around.

"Oh, Oh, I Hugged you by mistake... sorry! I am used to hugging my bear soft toy like that... sorry," She said.

"You sleep hugging a bear soft toy?" Everyone said.

Her face turned bright red, and she suddenly collasped.

The teacher rushed over and took her to infimary. I went with them.

After a few moments, she finally woke up.

"Huh? Where am I... ?

I remembered I was with a boy named yuta.

Was that a dream... ?

Oh man, I fell in love with a boy in my dream... how rudiculos..." She whispered.

I felt embrassed again because of what she said.

I couldn't help but feel awkward.

Anyone else in my place would've felt the same.

"Hey, you finally woke up, huh?" I said, my face still red.

"Y-yuta?

What are you doing here?

Why are you here?" She asked.

I pretended like I didn't hear it.

Well... I wished I could pretend.

But instead, I said,

"I just thought of coming with you because you collapsed because of me."

"Really...? Thank you for that. Did you hear what I was whispering?" She asked.

"I didn't hear anything. Was it something I wasn't supposed to hear?" I replied.

"Thank God... you didn't hear anything. Don't worry, it wasn't very important," She said.

At that moment I said.

"Hey I lied, I heard everything you said... and I think I fell in love with you too... After all, you're so cute."

"C-Cute? Me?..." She stammered.

"Yes, and don't make me repeat myself. I'm feeling embarrassed now," I said.

"O-Okay... I forgot to tell you my name, My name is Skuista Akuta. " She replied.

After that, teacher sent her home with her parents home because she was feeling sick.

We continued meeting for four months, but one day, I noticed something strange.

Whenever she was walking from her home, or walking with me on the road, she whispered to someone... like someone is beside her.

But there was no one. She had dark circles under her eyes. So I asked her, and she said:

"Oh, these? These are just from watching anime late at night."

I ignored the odd behavior and kept playing with her.

But then, one day, everything changed.

We were walking out from school.
That day, it was raining heavily.

Like always, she had those dark circles under her eyes, and she was whispering to someone again.

Suddenly, we saw a kid about to get hit by a truck. She was going to warn him to move out of the way.

I was about to yell at him to move away.

But before I could say anything, she ran past me.

she ran to save him from truck.

As she ran, I saw something cruel...
Something that crushed me inside.

Tears were falling from her eyes, blending into heavily rain.

"Hey! Why are you crying... ?" I asked.

She turned her face toward me and smiled gently.

Then she pushed Soda aside...
And the truck hit her instead.

I couldn't understand what had just happened.

People gathered quickly, and then I realized...

She had been hit by truck...
To save soda.

Tears burst from my eyes.
I threw away my umbrella ran toward her, scooping her up into my arms.

I could see the blood on her face and body. She was injured... badly.

"Hey... hey, are you okay?" I asked desperately.

She was barely holding on.

"Life is cruel, right... ? Just when I thought I could live a happy life with you... my dream shattered in pieces. Haha..." She said, smiling gently, blood dripping from her mouth.

And then...
Blood splashed onto my face.

Her body...

Her heart...

Stopped moving.

"Hey... Hey! Don't joke like that! Come on, open your eyes!"

No answer.

She didn't move.

Didn't speak.

Didn't breathe.

And just like that...
The warmth I had just discovered...
was gone.

The rain poured like the sky was crying with me.

I sat there in the rain for one hour, unmoving , holding her tightly in my arms...

Tears from my eyes dried...

Waiting for her uncle to come.

To see her one last time.

Then, my teacher arrived.

"Hey, Hey. She is gone now... You can let go." The teacher said.

"No... Not yet. Not until her uncle will arrive." I replied.

"Her uncle's is not coming." The teacher said quietly.

*"We called him, and he said, 'What? She finally died? Thank god. She was just a burden to us."

"What do you mean? Her uncle isn't like that!" I said, shocked.

"I don't know what she told you... but her uncle was always beat her. That's all." The teacher said.

"What... ? If that's true... then I'll never leave her." I said firmly.

They kept trying to separate us, but no one could pull her from my arms.

I started to crying... loudly.

Then my father arrived.
For the first time since I was born, I saw his face.

The reason he come?

To take me home and make me the next heir to the company...

Because his second wife couldn't bear children.

But some habbit never changed.

He slapped me hard in front of everyone.

Everyone stared, but I still said.

"I'm never gonna to leave her."

He slapped me again. and again...

But I held her tighter.

Then he said.

"You're going to become the next heir, so behave yourself and come with me."

I used that moment.

"Fine. I'll go... with one condition."

"You... You're making a condition?" he said.

"Yes, You will take care of her funeral properly. Honor her like real family member." I said.

"What? That's all? I expected something bigger from you." Father said.

"Huh? That's small to you? Shut your damn freaking mouth! Imagine if your wife had died like this
...what would you do then? I asked.

He raised his hand to slap me but I caught it and said.

"Don't ever try to hit me again. Or you'll lose your only and last hope. Got it?"

After that, he followed my condition and started to do work like I asked him to do.

That same time, I swore I'd grow stronger...

To take revenge on the curse of my life.

In other words... Soda Akito.

Because of him, I lost my caretaker.
Because of him, Iost her.
Because of him, my life ended.

I would get revenge.
No matter what.

Years later...

I Made a plan with a girl who also hated soda.

We teamed up.

But plan failed...
Because of that girl.

When Yui told me to leave, I didn't waste a second.

I ran from her house... through the rain.
Just like that day.

To finally see Soda Akito die.

"He's going to die.

Finally.

After that... I'll commit suicide.

Then I'll be free." I whispered.

But instead of seeing a dead body...

I saw him... smiling.

Talking to a girl.

Looking happy.

Seeing that... I was filled rage.

"Who is this damn girl? I'll make her pay for what she's done..." I whispered.
