Chapter 36:
The Hunters Duality
What they saw was a group of three being attacked by an unusually large horse type aether beast that had probably been separated from its group.
As Honō took a closure look at the group being attacked he saw that the group consisted of two men a girl, he took particular attention to a girl with magenta hair wearing a red jacket due to what she was holding, it was an old model of a camera notoriously known for having a bright flash leading to him coming to the conclusion of the horse only being spooked by the light along with the factor of its separation from its own group.
“Don’t attack the horse it’s probably only scared from being separated from it group and the flash on that girl's camera” shouted Honō as he slowly jogged over to the group of three due to his injuries still leaving him unable to fight.
“Good to know” replied Witz before mumbling under her breath. Why’d I have to make it with such a bright flash, so unpractical.
“So, we only need to calm it right?” Asked Selene as she and Witz ran to horse to stop it from attacking the group.
“Yep” answered Witz as she got to the front of the large horse and put out her arms to trying her best to calm the spooked animal.
“Yous all ok anyone hurt?” Asked Honō with urgency as he got a closer look at the group noticing how young they all were. They were only teenagers with nothing to protect themselves with bar a large cheap looking shield being held by who looked like the eldest in the group. The shield looked like it had taken a heavy hit causing a large dent in its centre.
“Luckily none of us is injured” spoke the eldest of the group exhausted from carrying the large shield.
“That’s a relief at least” replied Honō as Xander and Ash who was holding everyone’s bags walked over waving.
While Witz stood with her arms out trying to calm the horse Selene picked up a handful of seven small stones before clenching them in her fist imbuing them with her aether allowing them to glow the same blue aura her rapier had when she uses her aether.
When Selene got closer to the horse, she threw one of the stones at the horse’s front right knee missing it by an inch leading her to throw a second and third stone at each of its front knees barely hitting it them but causing the large horse to fall to the ground with a large terrified neigh.
As the horse fell Witz jumped back with a slight shock as she had not anticipated Selene’s method of “calming” the horse.
The horse now frantically swinging its head and trying to move its back legs started to neigh for help as Selene walked over towards its head. As she walked over, she dropped the remaining stones in her fist and took off her right glove before trying to reach her hand out to the horse's head.
“Hey, be careful Selene, it might bite you” exclaimed Witz as Selene inched her hand closer to the horse's face.
As Selene’s hand came closer to the horse face it’s stopped swinging its head and instead stared at the hand coming towards it as it breathed heavy in panic.
When Selene’s hand made contact with the horse, it began to calm down as her hand began to glow light blue. After the horse was calmed down Selene began pet the horse’s knees which she had severed its soul from, reconnecting its soul to its knees and lower.
After the horse was able to get up it began to stand before galloping away deep into the forest until it was out of their sight.
“So how come yous are in the forest anyway?” Asked Honō curious why the young group of teens would come to such a dangerous place with such a little amount to protect themselves with.
The magenta haired girl with the red jacket chuckled before declaring in confidence as she held up her old camera.
“To be the worlds best journalist”
