Chapter 2:

Episode 2 – The History of the Isekai World

Dark World Ruler: I’ll Build My Own Empire

---
Riyo began walking alongside Aeris. As they walked, Aeris lifted her hand into the air and, without saying a word, opened a portal. Riyo was shocked, but when he saw Aeris step inside, he followed her along with Riho.
As they emerged from the portal, Riyo squinted his eyes due to the brightness. He shielded them with his hand, but when he lowered it and looked around, he was stunned by what he saw.
They were in a massive garden with a magnificent palace. Around the palace were stunning trees, waterfalls, rainbows, flowing rivers, and all kinds of birds.Aeris turned to Riyo and said proudly, “Welcome to my home, Riyo.”Riyo didn’t know what to say. He simply bowed his head.
Aeris continued walking and entered the palace. Riyo and Riho followed her. The inside of the palace was just as beautiful: golden decorations, diamond ornaments, transparent glass, neat rooms, and breathtaking ceiling paintings.
Among the artwork, one large mural stood out to Riyo. On the left side, it depicted demons, monsters, orcs, goblins, and other creatures. On the right, there was a large figure of a human, wearing imposing black clothing. Next to him stood a muscular man in red armor. To the far side, a blue-skinned elf held a large staff and wore white robes—Riyo was surprised by the blue skin.
Behind him was another elf, hands clasped in prayer. Aeris and Riho were also in the painting. And at the very top… was the winged girl who had decapitated Riyo.
Seeing her again made Riyo furious. He remembered the moment his head was cut off and his body began to tremble. Aeris noticed and approached him. She cast a calming spell, and Riyo started to relax.
“Come,” she said. “Let me tell you everything inside.”
The large doors in front of them opened. A red carpet led to a majestic throne. Aeris sat down, and Riho signaled for Riyo to take a seat in the chair before her. Riyo sat and took a deep breath. Aeris began speaking:
"Exactly 300 years ago, the Demon King Azmorgoth managed to unite demons and wild creatures under one banner. No one had ever done that before. His goal was to destroy all other races. We call that time the 'Great Invasion.'
He launched his first attack on the Elf Forest—where we are now—thinking the elves were weak. In some ways, he was right. The elves weren’t as strong as the other races, but their unity allowed them to resist for a while.
Princess Luminor of Light and Princess Aurora of Ice fought against the demons. Even so, their power wasn’t enough. They had no choice but to ally with humans. The humans agreed—well, they had to, because once the elves fell, humans would be next.
Valerius-sama, a Dark Prince of the High Humans, revealed his strength and became a hero known throughout the world. He was the one who gave me my name. But even he couldn’t defeat the Demon King—he only managed to seal him away.
And now, according to prophecy, Azmorgoth will awaken again... 300 years later.
That’s why a successor was needed—and he chose you.
The woman who killed you in your world was Draconia-sama, Queen of the Dragons. But interdimensional travel consumes immense energy, so she likely fell into a deep sleep. She won't awaken for at least three more years.
Valerius-sama's only request from you is to defeat the Demon King. His final request from me was to train you.And the last wish he made to the other princes... was to help you.
Now I ask you, Riyo... will you honor Valerius-sama’s request?”
Hearing all this, Riyo felt a surge of energy and stood up.
“Don’t underestimate me! After hearing this story, I’m more determined than ever. I swear—I’ll kill that Demon King with my own hands!”
Aeris looked at him and smiled. She was pleased with his resolve.
