Chapter 1:
The Invincibility of a God
She made a God of Destruction like him change.
He closed his eyes, the light from the Moon God's moon reminded him of the past.
He was just an emotionless God of Destruction, thousands of worlds were continuously destroyed by him, countless lives were trampled by him, until there was a girl who was brave enough to want him to cooperate with her.
Izumo was her name, she was originally a girl living in a normal world with a younger brother and a happy family, it could have been a happy story until the nightmare came, a god who was bored with his world decided to destroy this planet and create another planet. Her family died after his purge, she hugged her younger brother and cried, a member of a resistance group against the gods they invited her into their organization.
The anger over her family's death made her decide to join the organization. One fine day, Akzuha met her after he destroyed another world, she used a special equipment to subdue him like a beast.
The God of Destruction at that time did not care about her. He was too used to humans and other creatures trying to oppose him, then dying meaninglessly. But Izumo was different.
She did not just want revenge. She wanted to change fate.
With a special weapon, she bound him in a slave contract. Something that no one had ever done before.
For the first time in his life, the God of Destruction was forced to obey a human.
At first, he only saw her as a joke. A small ant trying to control a dragon. But as time passed, something changed.
She didn't want him to kill, didn't want him to use his power for personal gain. Instead, she wanted him to protect the weak.
"You don't want to destroy everything." she said that fateful day. "You just never had anyone to give you a reason to do the right thing, you're just a child who doesn't know what to do."
Those simple yet powerful words made him doubt himself for the first time. And then, gradually, he began to change. He no longer destroyed worlds at will. He began to observe, listen, and even protect those worlds. But this change could not be accepted by the other gods. One of the organization betrayed his own comrades and in the final battle, they lost. Thousands of people were killed and now... only one person remained.
"Hurry up and bring him to the platform!" An Angel shouted and two other Angels led him to the lion platform, below were thousands of residents of the Heavenly Realm who were constantly shouting and cursing at him. A light tore through space and Amonga appeared, he slowly landed "Do you have anything else to say, God of Destruction!"
Hearing him say that, he thought deeply, remembering when he was still in the organization...
He was sitting on a wall rock, watching the waves continuously crash against the cliff, the sunlight slowly setting down and creating a peaceful image, someone who has always been in war like him has never seen such a beautiful scene.
"Why are you here?" Izumo was walking from behind him, she sat down next to him "are you enjoying the scenery?" She asked him but there was only a silent sound.
Izumo didn't say anything more, just sat silently next to him, letting the sea breeze blow by. She had gradually gotten used to his taciturnity.
After a while, he spoke, his voice carrying a hint of distance.
"I used to think... everything in this world was meaningless. Worlds, lives, civilizations... All of them were just things for me to destroy." He picked up a leaf.
Izumo tilted his head to look at him. "Then why are you here now, watching the sunset?"
The god was silent for a moment, then his lips curled up slightly, a barely perceptible smile.
"I don't know, every time I see something peaceful, the mind that constantly screams destruction inside me becomes strangely peaceful."
Izumo looked at him, her eyes a bit complicated.
"Do you regret what you've done?"
This time, he didn't answer right away. He looked down at his hand, the hand that had destroyed countless worlds.
"...I don't think someone like me has the right to regret, Izumo."
Izumo sighed, resting his chin on his knees. "You're such a stubborn person."
A cold wind blew, carrying the salty taste of the sea. Izumo shivered slightly, but she didn't leave.
"Listen, you stupid god, if one day you had the chance to start over, what would you do?"
Akzuha was a little surprised by this question. He turned to look at her, but Izumo only silently looked towards the setting sun.
Start over?
A god of destruction like him... would he have that chance?
Izumo placed her hand on his face and was trying to force a smile, he asked in confusion "what are you... doing?"
"I'm trying to make you laugh, I've never seen you laugh before"
The god was slightly taken aback by Izumo's actions. This girl... was actually trying to make him laugh?
He had never paid attention to that. For a God, emotions were meaningless. Laughing, crying, anger, everything was meaningless to a God.
But when he looked at Izumo's face, which was trying to force a smile, he felt a strange feeling.
"Strange..." He muttered.
Izumo frowned. "What's strange?"
He gently touched her hand that was still on his face. "You. Do you really think someone like me can smile?"
Izumo dropped his hand, crossing his arms. "What else? Do you want to keep that cold face for the rest of your life?"
He was silent for a moment, then closed his eyes. "Maybe... if I had another life, I would try."
Izumo was a little stunned by this answer.
She had expected him to refute or mock her. But for the first time, he actually thought about something other than destruction.
She laughed. "A god like you can dream? That's good."
A moment of silence passed.
Then anb spoke softly.
"...If I could start over, I would live the way I want."
Izumo looked at him, her eyes softening.
She didn't know if that day would ever come, but if it did, she hoped Akzuha would find her way.
Back to reality.
The God of Destruction finished his thought and he looked before him and then he was...
"Ku...Kuhahahahahaha!!!"
His laughter echoed throughout the execution plaza, causing all the angels and celestials to freeze.
Amonga narrowed her eyes, her voice dropping. "What are you laughing at, traitor?"
But he didn't stop. He just kept laughing, as if this was the funniest thing he had ever witnessed. The chains on his body shook from his hysterical laughter.
"You... really think you can end me like this?" He raised his head, his eyes were blindfolded but still carried a terrible pressure. "That's funny, you bastards!"
The angels frowned, some of them looked very angry and it seemed like they were about to charge at him.
Amonga did not seem surprised, he just curled his lips coldly. "Do you think you have any way back? The weapon that will kill you is the Divine Sword of Destruction, created from the power of the supreme gods."
"Oh? Is that so?" He stopped laughing, but the smirk did not fade. "How exciting, old man."
An angel holding a glowing sword stepped forward, the blade reflecting the halo of the heavens. He raised the sword, his voice filled with majesty.
"God of Destruction, you have committed a great crime of treason, betraying the heavens, killing gods, and breaking the laws of countless different worlds! In the name of the Heavenly Father God Amonga, I sentence you to death!"
Izumo, it seems I really have a chance to start over.
The blade fell.
Whoosh!
Blood splattered into the sky.
And... the God of Destruction was dead.
He fell into a deep ocean. The conversation echoed in his ears.
"So... if your family were still alive... what would you do?" He asked Izumo.
Izumo looked at the waves and said "If my family were still alive... I would become a farmer."
He wasn't too surprised and asked "Why... why..."
Izumo smiled lightly, her eyes following the waves that were crashing against the rocks.
"Do you know, God of Destruction, when I was young, my father was a farmer. He always said that farming was the truest way to understand life. Planting a tree, taking care of it, watching it grow day by day... It was a wonderful feeling."
She closed her eyes, as if reminiscing. "When I was young, I always followed my father to the fields, helping him water and sow the seeds. Those days were the happiest of my life."
He listened silently. A god of destruction like him had never thought of planting trees or farming. To him, life was fragile, born to be destroyed. But Izumo's words painted a different picture, a world where people created life instead of destroying it.
He shrugged. "I don't understand. You've held weapons, you've fought against gods, and yet you want to become a farmer?"
Izumo laughed. "It's because I've lost everything that I yearn for a normal life, that's what I really want more than anything." She turned to look at him, her eyes filled with sincerity. "What about you? If one day you could start over... what would you do?"
He didn't answer right away. He pondered over the question, and now he had an answer.
"I want to explore this world."
"What?" She asked and he just shook his head. "I'm like a child, I always Destroyed things because that's what I had to do, I used to wonder if what I did was right or wrong, I was never told what was right or wrong, but after meeting you, my heart was opened."
"If I had a new life, I would spend all the time I could live, no matter what form it took, I would still explore that world and all the other worlds, so that I could understand and feel the things that I could never understand."
A light appeared before that dark abyss.
"This is... the beginning..."
The light ended and now all he could hear was the sound of urging.
"Hold on, the baby's coming!"
A voice filled with tension and haste echoed around him. The sounds of screams, splashing water, and rapid breathing all formed a chaotic harmony.
The God of Destruction felt his body being squeezed, being pushed out of a dark and damp place. A flash of pain spread throughout his entire body, and then-
"Oe oe!!!"
He cried.
Not from pain. Not from fear. But from... the natural reflexes of a newborn baby.
"Wait..." He suddenly realized something.
Did I just cry?
A pair of gentle hands took him in, wrapping him in a soft cloth. A warm feeling spread throughout his body, a far cry from the coldness of the dark abyss just now.
"Congratulations, it's a healthy baby boy!"
A midwife's voice rang out. Then, he was placed in the arms of a woman. She looked tired but her eyes were filled with love. Beads of sweat still formed on her forehead, but she still smiled gently.
"My child..." The woman whispered, hugging him tightly.
He looked up at that face. A strange feeling welled up in his heart. This was... his mother?
He had truly been reborn.
He was no longer a god of destruction, but now he was simply a human.
