Chapter 3: A Sudden Change

[Warning! The system will now start to reboot]

" Molina! " Eve was startled when her head became quiet and the only sound that greeted her was Jonathan's angry voice.

She looks up to the man and then to the other people around. Eve still doesn't understand what was going on with the system and the present situation with Diana.

She was so focused on what was happened internally that she looked like she stopped breathing.

Jonathan didn't know what games Molina was playing with them but he had enough.

" If you're here just to cause even more trouble then I suggest you turn around and leave this place " Jonathan, with his blonde hair and blue eyes, looked at her like she was the most unpleasant being he has ever seen.

Eve remembers what she was doing, she doesn't reply, the announcement still in his mind.

Her character's tasks were nullified?

Doesn't this mean.....

Eve wanted to confirm her suspicion and while she was thinking hard with herself, Diana and Jonathan were slightly wondering what was going on in her head. Molina never thinks when she was emotional, they usually see her blow up a fuse and scream whenever she could.

Now she was quiet, thinking, and processing something.

When Molina straightens her back again and calmly looks at the receptionist, everyone around was surprised.

" My custom-made order. Let me know if it's ready " her shift in her expression and aura slightly scared the lady employees, they immediately moved without hesitation and grabbed what she came for.

They came out quickly with a simple-looking large caramel-colored box, with light green laces and ribbons.

Eve waited for the system and the sound of any warning to pop out but nothing like that happened.

She had her back straightened and her eyes calm as if she didn't look crazy two minutes ago, there was no arrogance nor cold aura around her.

Molina saw the lady approached her and apologized for the delay. The master tailor also stepped forward to give his greetings and his apologies, there was still wariness in the old man's eyes.

With a slight hesitation, Molina casually waves her hand in a nonchalant yet defeated manner.

"I'm sorry for causing a disturbance in your management, this was, unfortunately, my fault, I'd like to apologies for such scene I've let you witness...."

Eve tries out these words and seeing nothing has happened, she continues after she placed her card on the table.

"Here's my payment "

The ladies immediately takes the card, when she was finished she returned it to the young miss and Molina tried again. Testing the waters one last time.

"I am deeply sorry for my rude actions, I hope you two can forgive me " Molina looked peaceful as if she wasn't that arrogant rich young miss who looked out of place with the warm lights of the room but right now as if she was some kind of goddess of warmth and peace. As if they were hypnotized by the calm and sudden warmth, the reception ladies forgive her and apologize again for the delay.

"Thank you for your forgiveness, well then " she then looks back at the master tailor before nodding her head. "Goodbye"

Without giving a damn about Jonathan and Diana, Molina grabs the box wrapped in ribbons and walks away as differently as she enters.

It was graceful, a calm expression on her face, her face void of any emotion and hints of her thoughts. She exits the place peacefully and left the people in a dazed state.

The master tailor couldn't believe what he just witnessed, he has almost forgotten his two clients were ignored by the young miss and the employees.

He coughs and redirects their gaze to himself.

"It seems the young miss Sylvia is different from the rumors," the master Tailor said, trying to ease the atmosphere.

Diana looked down and her expression could not be seen and Jonathan was still looking at the doorway, where the woman left confidently and gracefully with ease and without any care in the world.

"Such woman is trying so hard to act graceful, shameful "

He thought to himself and looks at the innocent Diana.

"Unlike her, this sweetheart of mine is special and kind "

As she returned to her apartment, Eve tried to come in contact with strangers in the most unusual way of how Molina would do.

She entered the condominium building with her box and greeted the security personnel that was guarding the door, which resulted in these people looking so surprised that it looked like they were gonna have a heart attack.

She then greets the receptionist with a kind smile and the man and woman who usually bows and greet their usual patrons, stopped and looks at Molina's happy smile and light catwalk heading their way.

" How are you both doing? " she stops in front of the desk and asked with a smile. The two personnel behind the desk, almost couldn't speak up.

" Never been better M-Miss Sylvia, it seems like-- like something good happened? " the male receptionist had gathered the courage to reply, Molina never cared about small talks and didn't even look at these small-time employees every time she enters the building.

But Eve was different.

Without the harsh shackles of the system, she was free to do as she please. It had been probably decades or millennia since she had been sent to absorbed another personality. She doesn't need to act according to the system's command.

"Good? yes, something good did happen " Molina's smile was so rare that it made two people's hearts slightly race.

"Is there any notice sent for me? any outside calls from my telephone line? "

Since security was tight in this condominium building, Molina had decided on it without a second thought and fortunately, she lived in peace without worrying about her family or relatives coming to see her.

The parcels were strict and need to go first to the security department to be inspected. Then they will inform the receptionist, of course, their computer system will save such information to help these employees.

Sensing that Molina was being friendly for the first time, the two employees lower their guard and spoke in a friendly yet formal manner.

"I'm afraid there were no incoming calls and parcels that needed your attention, do you need anything else, Miss Sylvia? " The male employee continues and Sylvia suddenly remembered something.

"Well I do need your help about something " Sylvia smiles and the two had once again, felt their heart shook.

After instructing the two employees to call her for a driver for hire, she then bid them farewell and left for the elevator. Leaving the people around in daze and wondering if the sun was finally going to rise in the west.

Eve had finally concluded that the system, at the moment, will not issue punishment for acting in her own accord.

Not knowing when the rebooting will end, she hurriedly purchased a high spec laptop and phone and got it shipped as early as two hours since the devices were ordered within the city and which was easily delivered, and with that, she wanted to get started with doing herself and Molina a favor.

Molina works under her father's company as a regular white-collar worker in the office, she wasn't given much work and sometimes the system would order her to mess up and make Molina's a laughing stock in her workplace.

Her existence is basically making Diana shine and she, herself, digs her own grave.

Eve wanted to take back a lot of embarrassing moments in this current world, the time she made a fool of herself was enough to make her want to jump out of the window. She shakes her head remembering how she was acting like a clown to satisfied the system.

Two hours later and just another 3 hours before the company party started, Eve receives her package and confirmation of the requested driver.

She then proceeds to open her laptop and phone, the smell of the brand new devices made her heart excited.

"There's nothing sexier than a brand new looking, high spec and fast processing device. "

It's not the best tech unlike how her original world had AR, Nerve Gear, and advanced AI support, but in this time and world, this is enough.

She touched the power buttons and connected the devices to the building's fast Wi-fi.

As a genius hacker in her original and past lives, she wanted to use her skills in order to save the bodies she possessed.

Sometimes the world she lived in had advanced technologies and a bright world full of artificial intelligence that made her mind begging to learn, her hands to touch, and for her eyes to see, yet because of the system, she can't do as she pleased.

Eve busied herself gaining information around and even tried entering stock market exchanges, with a few clicks of the mouse and her high-speed typing, she eventually gathered a lot of things she needed.

Molina wasn't poor as she would be given money from her father, to Molina, it was enough for her to receive any amount as long as it was from her father, but to Eve, she was logical and knew that Molina shouldn't continue to delude herself about her family and her future.

If she keeps forcing herself to gain the approval of her parents who see her as nothing but an eyesore and a mistake, it would result in her disappointment.

Eve already knows the ending of her life if this continues.

"That's why Molina Sylvia, I promise you... " Eve infiltrates the trading business systems around the world without a sweat as she types and her eyes glued to the screen.

" I promise you, this time, that you will live on a happier and fulfilled life. "

She paused her fingers then smile.

As if Molina answered her, a sense of warmth and relief enters her body before it disappeared.

Eve smiled to herself before returning to busied herself for another hour, she had gathered and achieved more from the stock market and information from the trading industry had been exposed for her.

Without any security problems, she enters all major companies' website and their system, scrolling and searching through the files and the system like it was just a walk in a park.

She was just sitting on her couch with her laptop on her lap and one hand resting on her side, she looks down at the many confidential files and scanned documents. She thought of the next events that would happen in Molina's life.

After the company party where Molina had been isolated and was the center of negative gossip, her mentality had plummeted and her hatred towards Diana had grown when the blond woman had ignored her and even innocently partake such gossip.

Acting as if she didn't know it would hurt the older step-sibling, Molina then makes a huge commotion by defending herself and lay down her pain and feelings only to be shut down by her father.

Jealous and angry, Molina felt suffocated with the harsh reality of facing the truth, Diana isn't even her Father's biological daughter but had treated her with more care and gentleness.

The result of years of painful memories and unfairness, the anger and the feeling of loss, everything made Molina broken and she had no one to understand her nor listen to her. the following events then were how she became unstable and acted too cruelly and unconcerned anymore.

In the end, it leads to her death. If only one person sat down and patiently listen to her story, maybe things wouldn't end so unfortunately for such a person who just needed a friend.

Thinking about it, broke her heart but she had to accept that Molina isn't here anymore to change her path or change her life and be happy. Only Eve was left to do it and she will do it, whatever it takes.

After two hours of happily infiltrating the web, Eve had been in a good mood and started preparing herself for the company party. She walks towards the bathroom and caught her reflection in the mirror before she stops and gave herself a beautiful smile.

"From today and onwards, I am you Molina but different, so I won't stand receiving such treatment anymore. With my presence here and without the restrictions, I will live a life full of happiness for the both of us "

This is my beginning and your second chance.
