Chapter 11:
The Devourer of Destiny
He took several deep breaths to relax. Meanwhile, Yuta seemed to be getting impatient. He pointed his palm forward and then a sizable magic circle appeared behind him. It was a high-level magic that Yuta rarely released.
Everyone there was amazed and didn't expect to see the defending champion of the tournament unleash all his power. Inside the gold-colored magic circle appeared a large sword that rattled like a whirling wind.
"Spatial magic?" thought Mahendra. The look on his face that had been anxious now changed to a broad smile.
The sword was no ordinary sword, but a wind sword that had an irregular speed. In just the blink of an eye the magic circle along with the sword that had just been released had now disappeared somewhere. Instead of looking for the direction in which the attack would appear, Mahendra ran towards Yuta without any defense.
"He's not aware of my attack? This boy underestimates me apparently!" Yuta took a step back, but it was too late.
At the same time as the wind sword almost touched the nape of Mahendra's neck, the sharp blade formed from fire magic was already in front of Yuta's eyes. A moment of killing intent was felt by the senior and he had trouble reacting quickly.
"You beat my sword speed?"
"I learned a little of your magical skills, senior. Utilizing the surrounding air to increase magic power."
"You mean you used wind magic that you are not good at?"
Mahendra shook his head and said, "Not me, but you, senior Yuta."
Only then did Yuta realize that Mahendra had deliberately sprinted toward Yuta because he knew the wind sword would attack him sooner or later. Mahendra was taking advantage of the invisible wind sword's weakness that kept generating strong air around it.
"Thank you, Mahendra. Thanks to you I know the weakness of this great magic," Yuta said.
Mahendra smiled and then muttered softly, “I should be the one to thank you, thanks to you the ancient spells reactivated and I began to understand them.”
The loud cheers of joy from all directions drowned out Mahendra's voice. Yuta didn't hear him, but he wasn't curious either.
Today's Magic Fighting Tournament had ended in a draw. Mahendra and Yuta both won and lost. The floating board also wrote the two names in the same row.

In dorm room no.20. With quill and ink, Mahendra, who was alone at the time, was writing down the ancient spell he saw during the previous match onto paper.
꧋ꦲꦶꦣꦸ ꦥ꧀ꦝꦤ꧀ꦩꦠꦶ꧈ (Life and death,)
ꦣꦒꦶꦁꦩꦼꦚ꧀ꦗꦣꦶꦠꦸꦭꦁ꧈ (flesh becomes bone,)

ꦎꦫꦁꦪꦁꦣꦶꦏꦸꦠꦸꦏ꧀꧈ (A cursed person.)
He who felt familiar with each letter now began to understand its meaning. He was silent for a moment due to his surprise, then laughed out loud as if it was funny.
"This is the language of my world! The language of my birthplace!"
He felt deceived after being made to suffer for so long by the ancient spell that kept eroding her life. At least he understood and was able to control it. However, Mahendra still felt that his death was irreversible.
"Why!? Why?! WHY?! WHY ARE YOU GIVING ME THIS CURSE!?" Mahendra shouted, looking up at the sky.
Such a loud cry and laughter startled a male disciple who was about to enter his room. A letter with the Royal mark in his grasp was held for a moment. After taking a breath, he slowly opened the door.
Hearing the creak of the door, Mahendra turned to the source of the sound and asked, "Who?" His tone was firm and still filled with deep anger, as was his sharp gaze.
This made his roommate startled and closed the door again. After a while, the door opened again and he placed a letter under the floor, then closed the door again.
"There is a letter for you. Looks like it's a special invitation."After that go.
A letter containing an invitation to a birthday party that will be held in about two days. There was written the name of such an honorable Princess, The 5th Princess, Princess Melissa personally sent an invitation letter for him. Mahendra was silent for a moment because he was confused.
"As far as I know he promised 4 more years but this is only 2 years. Should I go?"
The day of the birthday party has arrived and Mahendra is not ready to go while the prepared gift have been in his grasp. She felt awkward and decided to ask someone out.
"Senior, Can you accompany me to someone's party?"
"Okay. What kind of party and whose is it?"
"Princess Melissa's birthday party," he said blunty.
The senior who shared the same room was so shocked that he left his mouth gaping for more than two minutes.
