Chapter 11:
Kei In Isekai
Satori pulled Kei out of the Adventurers’ Guild. “Man, Hanako is such a damned prude. I talked to one woman.” His speech was slurred.
Kei covered his face with his hand, his gaze turned straight downward. “This is the worst night of my life.”
Satori let out a loud, drunken laugh. He put his hand around Kei’s shoulder. “Relax, my man. There’s plenty of nights and plenty of girls to talk to. Let’s go find another tavern.”
Satori pulled Keisuke ahead. Soon they stormed into a tavern called The Fresh Belt. Satori stormed in; Kei slowly trudged behind him, sighing the entire way. People looked at them as they entered.
Satori pulled Kei closer. “See, man? Look at these girls.”
He pointed to one. “She’s already twirling her hair and giving me the ‘please fuck me’ look.”
Kei groaned. “Hanako’s right. You are the worst.”
Satori laughed even louder. “Good luck, pal. I’m going to find my quarry for the night. If I don’t see you later, don’t wake me up in the morning.”
“Wait, Satori, don’t leave me here!”
He extended his hand, but Satori was already stumbling and swaggering his way over to a table full of women.
Kei let out a long, drawn-out sigh. “Great. Leave me to my own devices.”
Kei approached the bar and sat down on a stool.
“Ale, please.”
Soon, a fresh tankard of ale was presented to him. He slowly sipped it while observing the room around him.
Much like the guild, it was a melting pot of different races. He noticed a woman sitting alone a few stools away.
“Just get up and talk to her. You can do this.”
As he put his foot on the ground, a man sat next to her and put his arm around her. Kei sighed.
“How do these people do it? I wish I could get even an ounce of their courage.”
He observed Satori, surrounded by women laughing and drinking. Kei carefully counted.
“Five? Seriously? Fucking pretty boy.”
He slumped on his barstool.
“No, I won’t give up.”
He straightened his back, squared his shoulders, and kept his chin up. He scanned the room.
“If I can have a conversation with one woman, I’ll consider that a win and head home.”
He observed two women drinking and laughing. He gulped, got up from his seat with tankard in hand, and approached. His face flushed red as he walked over.
“Umm… hi.”
The women glared at him.
“Can we help you?”
Kei fidgeted awkwardly on the spot.
The other woman huffed.
“Hello? Can you speak? What do you want?”
Kei shifted on his feet and quickly walked back to his stool and sat down. His head hit the bar with a gentle thud.
“I’m hopeless. Completely hopeless.”
He observed Satori from a distance for a while.
“How does he do it? Seriously, this is unfair. Why am I so damned weird?”
Kei sat and sipped on his ale. A few hours passed. Satori was paying his bill and leaving with his gaggle of women, blissfully unaware of Keisuke and piss drunk.
Kei let out a sigh.
“I should kill some time. I don’t want to return and hear him in the middle of them.”
Another hour passed. Kei belched as he finished another tankard of ale. He observed a woman in a red dress sitting alone.
He watched her for quite a while. No men seemed to be approaching her. She hadn’t touched her drink; she just smiled and watched as people drank. She looked toward Keisuke, catching his stare.
Kei looked away as crimson spread across his face.
“Oh god, she just caught me staring. She must think I’m a creep.”
He looked back at her, and she waved at him.
“Eh? No way? She waved? Maybe I should go over there?”
Kei stood up. He gently stumbled over to her. She was a regular human woman with long auburn hair and blue eyes. Her breasts were quite large.
“Don’t stare at her tits.”
Finally, Kei stepped in front of her. Her lips crinkled upwards into a soft smile.
“Hey there, cutie.”
Kei’s face flushed crimson red again.
“Uh… um… hi.”
Her smile widened.
“What brings you here? Drinking alone?”
“Uh, yeah. Just drinking alone.”
“Holy crap, I’m talking to her!”
She patted the seat next to her. Kei gulped and sat down.
“I figured you could use some company.”
She touched his face, which was still lightly bruised from the ass-kicking he received two weeks back.
“You get into a fight?”
Kei nodded.
“Uh… yeah, I did.”
She placed her hand on his chest. Kei fidgeted in his seat.
“You’re so cute. I’d hate to see what the other guy looks like.”
She moved her hand along his chest, down towards his stomach, feeling the muscles he’d developed so far.
“Are you a fighter? What’s your name?”
“Uh, it’s Keisuke. What about you?” he stammered out.
“I’m Lila. It’s nice to meet such a cute guy, Keisuke.”
Her hand slid down from his stomach to his thigh. Kei twitched awkwardly.
“You’re so shy. Is this the first time a woman’s flirted with you, Keisuke?”
“Uh…” His voice cracked. “Yeah, pretty much.”
She giggled, then leaned in and whispered into his ear.
“I can take real good care of you if you want, Keisuke. I can show you such a good time, you’ll forget your troubles.”
Kei’s eyes widened. His breathing hitched.
“I shouldn’t do this. No, wait. Maybe if I do this, I’ll stop thinking about Heidi. Where am I supposed to take her, though? Back to that den of debauchery? Hell no! An inn? Yeah, maybe I can rent an inn.”
“Uh… sure. I’d like that.”
She lifted her hand from his thigh to his hand. She gripped it.
“Come on then, Keisuke. Let’s have some fun.”
Kei slowly got to his feet. First, he paid his bar tab, then he led Lila toward an inn he stayed at during his first week in the city.
“Oh god, is this really happening? It’s happening. I can’t believe it. I’m finally going to lose my virginity?"
His stomach flipped. Sweat dripped from his brow as he led her toward the inn. As they stepped in, he pulled some silver out of his pocket. He cleared his throat and said,
“One room, please.”
