Chapter 7:

Chapter 7: The Demon of the Cave

Secondary Hero: I was sent to another world and surrounded by superpowered heroes. I’m the weakest hero in the group

Emi’s blining light stunned the cultists, who staggered back in confusion. Alex stayed behind, watching their movements closely—careful not to draw attention but ready to step in if needed.

—“Get the intruder!” one of the cultists shouted as the rest drew crude weapons: daggers, staffs, and chains.

—“Intruder? More like heroine,” Emi said with a grin, as a spear of light appeared in her hand. She spun it effortlessly before charging forward.

From his position, Alex raised his hand toward Emi. Focusing, he activated his ability to empower her. He could feel the flow of energy channeled into her body, making her faster and more precise.

—“Let’s hope this ends quickly…” he murmured while observing the fight.

Emi moved with superhuman grace and speed, dodging the cultists’ weapons with ease. Every strike of her light spear disarmed an attacker, knocking them down without delivering lethal blows.

One of the cultists—taller and bulkier than the rest—drew a black sword that pulsed with dark energy. He charged at Emi with a roar, but she blocked his strike with her spear, creating a burst of light and shadow that lit up the entire cave.

—“Whoa! This one actually knows how to fight,” Emi said, stepping back slightly.

—“Don’t get cocky, Emi,” Alex warned.

While Emi was engaged with the brute, other cultists tried to circle around her. Alex couldn’t stay out of it any longer.

—“Alright, guess I have to do something…” he muttered, summoning a dagger and silently creeping up behind one of the cultists.

With swift, precise movements, Alex disarmed two of them without making a scene. He avoided direct combat, focusing on neutralizing them quickly and quietly.

—“Alex, look out!” Emi suddenly shouted.

Alex turned just in time to see one of the cultists hurling a dark energy sphere at him. Instinctively, he raised his hand—and a small light shield formed in front of him, absorbing the impact.

—“What the hell was that?” Alex asked, surprised by his own reaction.

—“Are you awakening magic? That’s awesome!” Emi called out, grinning even as she kept her opponent at bay.

—“Not exactly a great time to celebrate…” Alex muttered, trying to stay focused.

As Emi finally struck down the cultist leader with a direct blow to the chest, the others began to retreat, clearly shaken.

But then, a deafening roar echoed throughout the cave. The fallen leader began to laugh with a deep, guttural voice.

—“Did you really think it would be that easy?” he growled as his body began to change. His skin darkened, black scales sprouted across his body, and he grew to over five meters tall. Two massive horns jutted from his forehead, and membranous wings unfurled from his back.

—“He’s a demon!” Emi exclaimed, stepping back and readying her spear.

—“Well, that makes things more complicated…” Alex muttered, staring up at the towering creature.

The demon roared, raising a massive hand and unleashing a wave of dark energy that made the entire cave tremble. Emi leapt to the side, narrowly dodging the blast, while Alex summoned another shield to protect himself.

—“We can’t let it escape,” Alex said, already strategizing.

—“I know. You do your thing, and I’ll take care of the rest,” Emi replied with fierce confidence.

Emi charged at the demon, dodging its clawed swipes while firing light blasts to distract it. From the rear, Alex continued empowering her, boosting her speed and reflexes even further.

Enraged by the attacks, the demon opened its mouth and unleashed a black fireball, casting an infernal glow across the cave. With her enhanced agility, Emi flipped into the air, barely avoiding the flames, and hurled her spear straight at the demon’s chest.

The spear struck deep—but it wasn’t enough.

—“Alex! I need more power!” Emi shouted.

Alex closed his eyes, focusing with everything he had. He channeled all his energy into her. A golden aura surrounded Emi, and her spear began to glow with a blinding light.

—“It’s over!” Emi yelled, charging once more. With one swift move, she pierced the demon’s heart, triggering an explosion of light that shook the cave to its core.

The demon let out one final roar before collapsing, its massive body crumbling into black dust.

Breathing heavily, Emi stood victorious, exhausted but satisfied.

—“Well, that was intense,” she said, walking over to Alex, who was leaning against a rock, clearly drained.

—“Next time, I get to choose the adventure,” Alex said, trying to catch his breath.

They stood there for a moment, watching the dust settle in the air. Emi smiled.

—“Told you we make a good team.”

Alex sighed but couldn’t help the small smile that tugged at his lips.
