Chapter 1:

The beginnings tend to be rough... right ?

Becoming "The Hero" To Save This Beautiful World

- So to sum it up. We don't know where we are. How we got here. Why were we falling from the sky? What time period this is, although it seems to be medieval times based on the buildings. We do know that we can somewhat understand local language even if it has some odd words. But why are we even here ?!? - said the boy
- Well, we sort of know how we got here and why we are here. I mean, when we were in this weird space, we heard a female voice asking us to "save the world" and "stop the disaster," but to be honest, that's not much to go off. - replied a brown-haired girl
- In conclusion, this is the so-called isekai!!! … is what I would have said, but usually when a character gets transported to another world instead of being "reincarnated," there is some kind of magic summoning used by a wizard or magician. Also usually, they are greeted by the king or the queen, after which they are given an explanation as to what is going on. Later they get their strength and magic tested, and as it always turns out, they're quite strong. Because of that, it takes them about 1 episode of the anime to deal with the problem, and after they get to live an easy, luxurious life with their harem. But in our case… IT IS NOTHING LIKE THIS! I have never heard of a story like this. - The boy paused. Wait. Unless. I did. I hope we won't meet any bowel huntresses here. - he added while shivering from fear
- Don't worry Rin, I am sure we can somehow make sense of this. But first we should take care of our daily necessities, because as it stands now, we have no home, no money and nothing to eat. - Said a blonde-haired girl
- You're right. First we should survive here. Then we can worry about everything later. - finished Rin

As it stood, the trio found themselves in an unknown place, without a person to help or a house to sleep in. And that is how their story began.

After the conversation between them finished, they set out to look through the city they found themselves in to look for a job and a place to sleep. They began by asking all the people they could, but it was to no avail. Soon after, they went towards the market, and Rin bumped into a person concealed by a large cloak with a hood, causing the person to drop the items they were carrying. Rin immediately apologized and started picking up everything as the person momentarily stared in confusion.

- T-Thank you. - A feminine voice said quietly, stuttering over her own words.
- Huh? - said Rin as he looked up - Why thank me? I am the one who wasn't paying attention and caused trouble for you. If anything, you have the right to be mad. Then again, that may be a little rude. - continued Rin as he kept collecting the dropped items.
- A-aaaah. Um… sorry. I-I mean, I'll help you. - as the girl swiftly swooped down and rashly collected her items.

Looking up at her, Rin noticed that the person hiding underneath the cloak is a beautiful girl around his age. Her hair was tucked away so it was hard to see it, her eyes were blue. But there was one more feature that got his attention the most was a barely visible cat ear slightly peeking from under the hood. For a moment he forgot they were now in another world and it seemed odd to him even tho they met plenty of people with animal features already. As they got all the items back into the bag, the girl gently bowed and in an instant disappeared into the crowd.

- Hey, you done cleaning your mess, Rin? - tesingly said the brown haired girl.
- Thanks for your worry, Mitsuki!!! - replied Rin sarcastically.
- Guys, now's not the time and place for arguments, ok? We still have no place to sleep and no way to earn money and at this rate we'll go hungry for days, remember?. - thrown in the blonde girl.
- You're right Suzune. Sorry. - apologized Rin.

As the morning became late afternoon, the trio, already very hungry and a little bit exhausted made their final effort. Eventually they ended up in a restaurant/tavern after a tip from a person saying that the place is short handed. They decided to look for the owner and ask them for any job. But when they entered inside, the loud noise and crowded space overwhelmed them a little.

- Well, this place is … uhm, yeah crowded. - said Rin
- Either way, we've got to find the owner. Remember, her name is Lana. - answered confidently Mitsuki.

Once they found the owner, they met up and asked about the job.

- Ma'am Lana, we're desperately looking for a job. We've tried to find one for an entire day, but without success and we heard you are short-staffed. We really need the money to pay for a place to sleep and food because… well to put it simply we come from very far away, and we have no one that could help us. So we would be happy with any job. - Rin desperately pleaded to the manager of "Good Hrana."
- Yes, Madam, like my friend said we really are in a desperate position. - added Mitsuki
- We promise that we're not lying. We really need money to buy some food and rent a place to sleep. - thrown in Suzuna
- Hmm… - Madam Lana seems to be deep in thought - You guys are saying you come from afar, don't know anyone and have no money. Looking at you, you still seem too young to be away from home. But I am not one to pry into people's secrets. Sometimes it's hard to share some things. I get it. After all, I had kids myself. Although they're grown up already and left home. - Lana stopped for a moment and continued - Ah, there I go rambling again. Well, back to you. I can offer you a job, but unfortunately I have only two free positions. One of them is being a barman or barmaid and taking orders for drinks, the other one is a waitress.
- Hmm, how should we split? - asked Suzune
- I guess you two could take those meanwhile I'll keep on looking for something else. - answered Rin
- HUUUUUUH ?!? You trying to offload all the work on the two of us? - retorted angry Mitsuki
- No, no I mean I think it would be best for you to work in the same place so you can help eachother, also I think these positions would suit you better. - clarified Rin
- Sounds good to me. What about you, Mitsuki? - Suzune looked at Mitsuki with a smile affirming her.
- Alright. But, Rin, you better not go back on your word, 'kay ? - Said Mitsuki eyeing Rin.
- Of course, miss! - enthusiastically and half jokingly answered Rin.
- Oh, by the way, when it comes to a place to sleep, I could rent you two rooms that I have free. They are in a building connected to the tavern. It's also the house I live in. I know you have no money, but I could simply rent them in return for your work at first and once you make some money you would pay me back. - After madam Lana has said that the trio looked stunned at her not expecting such hospitality from a person they just met.
- Uhm, I-I don't know what to say. Madam Lana, that's really kind of you. Are you sure we won't be a bother? - Spoke up Suzune. In answer madam Lana chuckled.
- Of course not. You clearly seem like good kids and you kind of remind me of my own. Oh, and don't worry about food either, you can cook with the stuff that you'll find in my restaurant.
- Thank you so much! - said the trio with massive smiles on their faces.

After the conversation, the girls decided to settle in inside their room and later they talked again with the manager to get some tips on how to do their job. Rin meanwhile, wanting to keep his promise to Mitsuki, went out again to look for a job. Outside it was already evening, so he didn't have much time that day.

After about an hour of walking around he stumbled onto a blacksmithing workshop. There he encountered a young woman not much older than him with a very characteristic fiery orange hair setting things up. He decided to ask if the owner needed some help.
- Hey! Does the owner of this workshop need any help? It seems like there is a lot of stuff to do here. - said Rin
- Hmm? Ahhh Hello! - Rin got cheerfully greeted by the orange-haired girl. - Do I need help ? Hmm - she paused for a moment thinking - You could say. This is my first time operating a workshop alone. So I guess I could use another pair of hands around the shop. - she spoke answering the question. In that moment, Rin looked stunned.
- Oh, I am so sorry, I wasn't expecting that you own this place. W-well you look young and ... ughh. I-I mean I am sorry for assuming things a-and-. - embarrassed, Rin started stumbling over his own words while apologizing to the girl.
- Hehe, no worries there. - she sent him a warm smile - And yes, I look young because I just finished studying blacksmithing. So… about that help you were curious about? - she asked, trying to tease Rin enjoying his reactions.
- Ah. Yes. Right. I was wondering if I could work here. I really need to earn mone-
- YOU'RE HIRED! - she shouted entusiastically
- Huuuuuuuuuuuuh? - Rin was very astonished by the girl's quick decision and by the way she carried herself worrying that she might be too gullible. Still, she hired him on the spot, so he was happy with that. They spent some time discussing the details of his job, and then Rin got ready to go back to his new "home" and tell the girls about his succes. But before he left.
- Name's Faya! - she shouted to Rin - I think I got so caught up on everything that I forgot to introduce myself. - she said and gave a bright smile to Rin.
- Ah, my name is Rin. Nice to meet you. - he replied with a smile as well.

After such an eventful day, the girls and Rin spent a little while discussing what they should do next and headed to sleep.

The next couple of days passed without much happening. The trio continued their work and got more used to the world. Until one day, as they were coming home from a trip in the city, they met a strange young woman looking like a mage.

- So. At last I finally found you. - she spoke in a very tired and a bit irritated voice. - We have a lot to talk about.
