All of the Typical Deaths

Takuto saw a woman equipped with a black full plate armour, without a helmet. And it had a cape, definitely just for cosmetic reasons. Like, why the heck did she need a cape? Her hair was purplish grey and quite long. She reminded him of his lover. However, as she had blood splattered everywhere because of a hole in her torso, Takuto hesitated to check on her. Nope! Nope!

So he turned around and quickly yeeted himself from the crime scene. He sensed his sweat on his temples as he hastened his steps, ignoring the victim as if he didn’t see anything.

“How heartless of you…” GG commented.

“Shut it, GG,” Takuto whispered. “Don’t you see a source of evil over there?!”

“Why don’t you try to help her? At least ask about her last word.”

“I recall there is no CCTV around here. So if I’m the one who found her, don’t you think I’ll be suspicious?”

“You are sus anyway. Like, why did you have a pile of tissues on your trash can?”

“That and this are different matters, GG.” Takuto kept running.

“I thought you were a man of justice.”

“Justice is only necessary in public. You don’t say ‘flat is justice’ in your bedroom before a mirror. I mean, you only say that on social media!”

As Takuto thought he had made enough distance, he began to lower his speed while sometimes looking back. But GG kept yapping like nothing had happened.

“If you bend the rules, even just once, you lack credibility,” she said.

“What are you talking about, woman? And Yukari wouldn’t give a response like that. She would be more tactful.”

“I lost my composure sometimes. And that’s natural.”

Then Takuto stopped, putting his hands on his waist. His breaths became uncontrollable. His mind was chaotic. “Now, which route should we take? Definitely the further one, the roundabout one.”

“You dropped your box of tissues, by the way,” GG remarked.

And so Takuto turned around and ran again. And after a few minutes, he was back at the exact point he had been. However, unlike his expectations, GG opened her mouth again. “Do you want to hear what you left now?”

Grumbling, Takuto turned around again. “What now?”

As she tried to say something, GG made a heart with her fingers. And she winked. And she also lifted one leg. “Your fluttering heart!” she exclaimed. “Didn’t you feel that when you dated the past me the first time?”

Takuto could completely imagine GG would do the heart thing because he created her, although he couldn’t see her gestures. The woman he loved was playful sometimes, although she wouldn’t be that playful. So definitely some weird data made GG act like that. Probably his videos of an idol. A former idol who focused on Adult Video making.

He turned around, now taking breaths steadily. And he recalled some past events with his dead girlfriend, Yukari Mikami.

The first time we dated, huh. Let me recall it.

I see. It was in the net cafe around here. Yeah, a suck choice. But we knew we could feel comfortable there, and we could have some conversation afterwards. We both were damn introverts, after all.

You just walked forward, asking for an empty room. Just like that, you tended to ignore my flirtatious behaviors. But I knew you were attracted. Because there wasn’t any other reason you agreed and showed up here. I didn’t believe that you just didn’t want to afford five thousand yen to stay overnight at a hotel, as we intentionally missed the last train.

“Well, a net cafe is cheap. Just two thousand yen,” you said. I was speechless back then, but still followed you. Nevertheless, I held you in my arms from behind as we settled and started playing games. I was ready to hide my face, just in case there was a camera, as we laughed and seemed happy, although we weren’t involved in any scandal.

The room wasn’t that spacious. But it was okay, as I thought you wouldn’t mind clinging to my body. Although deep down I had a doubt because I supposed we needed to converse first before any physical contact, right? That was what my dating experiences told me. So you wouldn’t rob or stab me after this, right?

And my guess was right. We did not strip that night.

“Did your delusion rewrite the first time you dated my past self?” GG shattered Takuto’s inner world again. Thus, Takuto became grumpy, but he couldn’t lie, so he answered, “Well, just a little. I did not hug her while we played the games. But later, I hesitated to embrace her when we went to sleep. However, she smiled a little, so I did hug her at the end of our date. Sweet.”

“Did you touch my boobs?”

“I couldn’t. I didn’t think it was the right time.”

“Coward.”

Listening to GG’s last response, Takuto just curled up his lips and closed his eyes. “Yukari wouldn’t use any derogatory term like that. Bitch.”

“Sorry, my base data is mixed up. It definitely wasn’t me betraying your expectations.”

Bullshit. At least try to do your job properly, damn it!

All of a sudden, something from behind penetrated Takuto’s body. Not the lower parts, but his back. And not something soft, it was hard and sharp as a big sword. A literal big sword. Therefore, Takuto halted in pain. He let his body slam the ground, and he screamed as loudly as an unbearable noise. “119! 119!” he shouted and shouted, desperately calling for help. But no one answered.

Fortunately, or unfortunately, the perpetrator retracted the sword, so Takuto could turn his body to see who did it. And he was shocked. He saw the dead woman staring at him like he was nothing, although there was clearly a gaping wound on her torso. Nonsense!

However, he felt joy. It was like seeing his dead girlfriend come back. So he tried to reach her face with tearful eyes. “I want to say something I couldn’t say all this time, Yukari.” Takuto’s arm trembled as he tried to keep his hand still. “You probably know what it is.” He knew he was about to die, but he still had his sense of humour. “With all of my savings as a guarantee… I love you. I really, really love you.” Takuto drew more of his remaining energy. He couldn't care less about his bleeding or any foreseeable ambulance. “And I’m sorry. I should have been there beside you, in your last moments. I wish you didn’t feel lonely and hurt.”

“Yukari… Yukari…” As he began to close his eyes, he let his arm fall.

“Can you stop being so dramatic?” GG remarked.

Hearing her remark, Takuto just sighed. “Stop cock blocking me, GG.”

“Isn’t that a vulgar word? Let me give you a warning.”

“No, it’s a dating slang like ghosting, so shut it.”

“Should I delete your questionable multimedia collections?”

“You are going to let someone touch it anyway.”

“Well, you know me well.”

In his last moments, Takuto left a chuckle. He had hope that he would be reincarnated because the woman who stabbed him was seemingly from the MMORPG that he played a lot. Sure, he had a pretty good life. But he died so fast, unfairly. So he clung to that hope before he closed his eyes forever.

Or it was supposed to be peaceful and dramatic like that. Because he realized the night around him became brighter. And he heard a truck horn. Oh, shhit!

The truck crushed his body and repelled the dead woman. He could feel his bones shattered. He could also hear GG scream, although she didn’t have any emotion. Then she was dying in shock. And for some reason, everything became brighter and brighter for him. So there was a blast. BOOM!

There can’t be anything more exciting than an explosion. I see.

And for a brief moment, Takuto saw a mysterious figure in the distance. He thought a shady plot was going on. But then he realized who the figure was.

It was the drunken man he thought of. And now the man had sobered up.
