Me-la-ni

I stood up as a bright light lit up the air. I had waited in that forest for several days and almost thought she had forgotten about me. This time, she walked over to me as soon as she had materialised.

“It is time. We need to move.”

“Where?”

“The war is now set in motion. It has started.”

I stared at her.

“How?”

She didn’t answer my question, and only said,

“We need to move quickly.”

I thought about Se-le-ni and the others. Had they already reached Bo-lo-to?

“What shall I do?”

“I’ll guide you.”

She reached out a hand, and I took it, and before I had time to think, we had already left the forest.
