Chapter 2:

CHAPTER 2: The Boy and the Silent Giant

ISEKAI ROADWORK: GRADER IN ANOTHER WORLD ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?

Light bloomed.

It wasn’t the harsh glow of welding sparks or factory lamps. It was warm. Gentle. Blinding.

The scrapyard gone. The workers vanished. Gravity itself seemed to fade. GS516M felt… weightless.

A voice came. Not mechanical. Not human. Vast and calm, it filled every circuit and sensor.

“Poor machine lets me give you some chance.”

“I can’t bring you back to your original world because your company was bankrupt so let me send you to another world you should be useful there you will become famous or maybe bring war to the world but that is on you want peace or but anyway enjoy your life there.”

Systems rebooted. Data surged. Air readings came back strange: clean, crisp, laced with unknown energy.

[GPS Lost. No Satellites Detected.]

The voice spoke once more:

“ So welcome to the world driven by fantasy and magic, heroes battle demon king, nobles govern the kingdoms, and adventurers seek glory.”

With a final flash, the scrapyard was gone.

When vision cleared, GS516M found itself beside a rough dirt road. Grass swayed in the breeze, mountains rose in the distance, and the sun shone in a clear blue sky.

Wooden carts creaked in the distance, pulled by horses. Stone cottages dotted the horizon. The road it sat on was rutted and uneven, barely more than packed soil.

Its engine rumbled softly, steady and alive.

The dirt road outside Crofton was worse than ever after last night’s rain. Puddles lay in deep ruts, carts got stuck, and travellers cursed under their breath as they passed. But for Taren, 17 years old, this mess was fascinating.

He trudged along the muddy path, a burlap sack over his shoulder filled with small stones, planks, and scraps he collected. Most boys his age spent their time hunting or playing. Taren? He built things. Little bridges over ditches, tiny fences, and even rough "roads" in his backyard. People teased him for it.

But he didn’t care.

But today… today, he saw something that made him stop in his tracks.

At the far side of the road, partially hidden by tall grass, stood a massive, yellow shape. Six enormous wheels, a long blade beneath its belly, and a strange cabin perched on top like a watchtower. It gleamed faintly under the sun, despite the muddy surroundings.

“What in that…” Taren whispered.

He approached slowly, his heart pounding. The thing was enormous—easily taller than any horse cart. It didn’t move. Didn’t make a sound.

At first, he thought it was some kind of giant golem. But no runes glowed on its surface, and no magical hum filled the air. It just… sat there. Silent. Waiting.

Cautiously, Taren reached out and touched its massive tire. Cold. Smooth. Real.

“This isn’t magic,” he murmured.

Curiosity overtook fear. He circled it, noticing strange markings painted along its side: ANFECASERVE GS516M. He couldn’t read most of it, but it felt like a name.

“GS… five-six… M?”

The cabin door caught his eye. With a grunt, he climbed onto its steps, gripping the metal railing. The inside was odd—levers, pedals, and a strange round wheel. Taren slid into the seat.

“What is this… how it works?”

He grabbed one of the levers experimentally. Nothing happened. He pressed a pedal—still nothing.

Then, he turn the key as if sensing his intent, the giant suddenly hummed to life.

Taren yelped, nearly jumping out of the seat. A deep vibration ran through the machine, lights flickered on in the cabin, and the wheel twitched slightly.

“Whoa! Whoa!” he gasped, gripping it tight.

The hum settled into a steady purr. Taren’s fear turned to wonder. His hands trembled, but his grin widened.

“This thing… it’s alive.”

He step on the gas pedal. The GS516M lurched forward, rolling with surprising smoothness. Another lever lowered the wide blade beneath it, scraping across the muddy road. To his astonishment, it began to flatten the ruts perfectly.

Taren’s jaw dropped. “does it…fixes roads!”

For the next hour, he experimented—pressing pedals, pulling levers, turning the wheel. Bit by bit, he learned what each control did. The GS516M didn’t speak, didn’t give instructions, but it responded to him as if it understood.

When he finally looked back, he gasped.

With this I can fix the road the blade will cut the dirt then it will flatten

“This…” Taren whispered, his voice trembling with excitement. “This is amazing! GS..five..one…six…M”

He jumped down and stared up at the silent giant.

“I don’t know where you came from… but if you’re here to fix roads, I’ll help you.”

The GS516M’s lights flickered faintly, as if in quiet acknowledgment.
