Chapter 7:

Good morning, town

Our Town in another world

The sun slowly rose over Ohana city. Morning had come at last. The goblins had all fled, leaving the town mostly intact. Some parts of town didn't even realize anything had happened, and were living their lives as usual. However, nothing would truly be the same from this day forward for the town of Ohana.

...

"Everyone, good morning. I'm Erika Eiko, and today we have a breaking news report, pertaining to the entirety of the city. This may sound like nonsense, but it appears our entire town of Ohana has been transported to another world," a beautiful young female anchor with short auburn hair stated.

Pictures of various locations around town appeared on the board behind Eiko, among them direct after effects of the goblin raid, wounded citizens, and images of the train tracks vanishing into nothing with where the neighboring city should be replaced with unknown wilderness.

"As you can see, this world is full of danger. Reports of goblins attacking people have plagued Ohana these past few hours. And speaking of hours, the clocks are way off. It's supposed to be late night, but the sun's already rising. Everyone must be thrown off.  But we must adapt. If the convenience stores can go 24 hours every day, we can all stay up as long as needed to adapt to this new day cycle. Adaptation is humanity's trait! Adapt, adapt, ADAPT! Chug that coffee and adapt! We can't let this world trip up us and our town! Get up, lazybones! The morning is now, and so's the workday!"

Yet a fair number of residents were fast asleep or getting ready for bed. Including a certain author.

As the sunlight pierced through his window, Maruki groggily opened his eyes as he laid in bed. "What a night. I had a nightmare Eulon Moosk rejected my chess novel. Then things got good and an elf maiden dropped by my window," he mumbled as he rolled over to come face-to-face with Kirikatta, who was wide awake and smiling at him. "Good, dream's still real."

Kirikatta laid there as Maruki went back to sleep, her smile slowly fading as he did. "Um, you gonna sleep all day? You went to sleep at dusk, now you're snoozing in? I wanna torment you, but I gotta do it when you're fucking awake! Ugh, Ike's gonna kill me, and so will elder hairball if I don't finish this soon."

"Ngh, what was that?" Maruki mumbled.

Kirikatta quickly resumed her happy facade, but it turned out to be a false alarm as Maruki began snoring again seconds later.

"What the hell's his deal!? I got shit to do and can't just kill him, I mean I could, but something's nagging me telling me the time's not right! Ugh, I'm hungry!"

Leaping down off the bed, Kirikatta scoped out Maruki's abode, looking for any traces of edible matter.

"Hmm? Why're all the shoes over in that tiny square by the door? Should they not be at the foot of his bed or on his feet when he sleeps? Truly a baffling human," Kirikatta scoffed as she took notice of the shoes before the front door.

The next area she discovered was the bathroom.

"A troth in a room? The humans are animals, but is this a fetish of those living here? I've never seen humans have any basin of water other than a well in the entire vicinity of their colonies."

Finally, she reached the kitchen area, yet opened every drawer and cupboard not containing food.

"He has eating utensils, fine quality ones of silver. Must be nobility. Ah, that must be why there's no food. This is his sleeping quarters, so the kitchen must be further within this stony mansion."

No sooner did she say that did she open the fridge,  greeted with stacks of juice boxes and soda.

"A wine storage? But what are these? They are small, yet have fruit of some sort drawn on it," she mumbled as she grabbed a box of fruit juice.

Her stomach empty and her throat dry, she decided to drink it, slicing the entire top off and chugging down all the contents within.

"This... This is amazing! Perhaps, I'll devour his wine before he awakes," she thought as she reached for another juice box.

...

Rosa slowly opened her eyes to the sound of rushing water and a cool sensation on her head.

"Oh, uppy, uppy! You're a heart throbbing beut!" a giddy voice giggled.

Rosa attempted to move, but quickly felt hands clamp down on her face and lean it back. There above her was the face of the dark elf that had kidnapped her the night prior.

"Mmph- Ngh!? Mmph ngh mmph [Let me go]!"

"Shh, shh. Still washing you."

"MMPH NGH [WASHING ME]!"

Rosa only got more frantic as she began to violently thrash around, kicking up water in her wake.

"Hahaha! You wanna play in the water? You're all tied up still, but I did loosen things a bit. Oh, and you're still clothed."

Rosa slowly leaned her head up and stared down at herself. Down to her shoes, she was completely clothed in the exact same apparel she had been in the night before. The only issue now was that she was soaked.

"It feels good to have a soak, doesn't it, Rosa," Aoi smiled as she sat bound on the shore.

"Mmph, ngh mmph ngh mmph [Wait, why aren't you gagged]!?" Rosa fumed.

"Sorry, what ya say?"

"Probably wondering why your gag's gone," the elf shrugged.

"Did I even have one anyway?"

"Coy, coy. She's just more assimilatin' while you're more resistin'."

"Ngh mmph ngh [Who are you]!?"

"Oh right, you've been snoozin'. Hmm. Winona," the elf smiled as she put her hands on her hips, sending Rosa's head sinking to the bottom of the pond.

"Mmph!"

"Ah, can't swim?"

...

Rosa glared as she shivered on the shore, still fully clothed, still bound, still gagged. Now out of the water, she could see her surroundings more clearly. Before her was a small clear pond surrounded by a rock wall and waterfalls on the far side, forest to the right and left, and a rocky shore before it, which she was resting on. There were trees around her as well, giving her the impression she was in the woods, potentially the very woods she had seen last night. But she couldn't say for sure.

"I can't feel my phone in my pocket. Did it fall out, or was it taken? If I had that, I could hopefully phone for help assuming there's a signal," Rosa thought as she began to struggle.

"She really does look cute all tied up, especially with the gag covering her mouth," Winona smiled.

"I vote the gag stays on," Aoi chimed.

"NGH! Mmph ngh mmph ngh [NO! Get it off me]!"

"OK! We keep it on!"

Rosa exploded with fury and slammed her head down on the ground, desperately rubbing it against it until her gag finally came lose.

"Peh! What the hell's your deal!? We were just walking when shit happened and we couldn't find our way back home."

Winona didn't appear to care as she yawned loudly.

"YOU KIDNAPPED US, YOU CREEP!"

"It's called bride hunting. I like girls, so I hunt em down."

"You... You hunt down brides?"

"Yeah. Wanna see my harem? You'll be joining it soon."

"It's hardcore. This girl's crazy gamer. Trust me," Aoi grinned.

Winona walked over to a nearby tree and playfully knocked on it's trunk. Holding her hand to her ear, she waited for a reply, but nothing ever came.

"They're being shy. Out of the tree, ladies!" Winona grinned as she kicked the trunk with her boot.

Large round objects which appeared to be coconuts at a glance fell out of the tree and into the grass. Rosa rolled her eyes unamused at the skit, until one of the "coconuts" rolled up to her.

Bulged eyes, a toothless screaming mouth, and lack of hair and ears. It was a woman's severed head. Rosa began to hyperventilate with a loud scream soon following.

"And that's why I had you gagged. You're the type that screams easily," Winona maliciously chuckled as she appeared behind Rosa to re-gag her.

"NGH! MMPH!"

"Don't be so freaked out. These are my precious wives. I just had my way with them, see."

"And she wants to hunt us down like them and add to her trophy collection. How gamer is that?" Aoi grinned.

"Oh Aoi, I really love that spunk you got going in ya. Say Rosie, wanna know how Aoi reacted when I introduced my wives?" Winona asked as she dangled Rosa's smartphone from it's key chain.

Tears welled up in Rosa's eyes as Winona forced her to tap her phone and unlock it.

"She said..."

"Gamer," the Aoi in the video grinned, no fear or distress present anywhere, just thrill-seeking excitement.

"I never should have become your walking partner," Rosa thought.
