Chapter 3:
The Human Girl Entwined with the Doll
Following the holidays, Veronica resumed school. Once she returned, a boy approached to her and inquired, "How are you?" But after that , nobody see him again. Then the teacher mentioned to the whole class that Veronica would sit at the front facing in front of me. Everybody concurred with this decision.
When the class began, there was a new student by the name of Kingston who joined. He sat beside Veronica, and they took the class together. Teacher announced that your test her coming so Veronica invited him to be led by her, stating, "Your test is around the corner, Kingston. You can trust me." Kingston agreed and accepted her offer.
When the last bell sounded, Veronica invited Kingston to visit her home to study. He accepted, and before long he was knocking at her door. Veronica shouted, "Mom, my classmate is here." Her mother peered outside and said oh...mommmmm he is only my classmate
"Sweetheart, he's just your classmate". Because your test is approaching, it's well that he's here to study together with you." They both went upstairs.
Veronica laid her bag on the bed and sat on the floor with her books. She welcomed Kingston to sit next to her, and they began studying together. But Kingston started curling her hair, and this angered her. She verbally attacked him with abusive words and began to shout, but her mother could not hear her.
Veronica then strongly ordered him, "Get out of my room! "Kingston exited the room. As he was exiting, Mama came out of the kitchen, and at that time, Kingston lost his balance and tumbled down the stairs. He crashed his head severely and began bleeding heavily.
Veronica's mother glanced up but noticed Veronica safely in her room. In the meantime, the milkman came by to deliver milk and observed the scene. Scared, he immediately called the police.
When the police came, Veronica's mom said, "He fell down the stairs." When the officer asked Veronica, she responded with a look of innocence, "He just wanted some water, so he went outside." Veronica had her doll clutched in her hands the whole time. The police officer attempted to pat her down, but Veronica did not like him touching her.
Her mom then turned to Veronica and said, "Did you push him?" Veronica steadfastly replied, "No, I would never push him for anything." Her mom kissed her and said, "Okay, sweetheart. Goodnight." "Goodnight, Momi," Veronica softly replied.
Later, it was found that the officer who attempted to touch Veronica was no longer alive as she had murdered him but no one knew that she murdered that officer
At school, when the teacher queried Veronica on what occurred, she replied, "I don't know, Sensei," and remained silently seated, looking at her doll.
The teacher continued to give the lecture.
No one actually knew what occurred in Veronica's home, how Kingston died — only the doll appeared to know.
