Chapter 16:
When I bought That Suspect Baroque Closet and Lamp, I Didn't Expect to Be a Mundane Wizard for the Demon Prince of Another World
Genie, Lady Bluesteed and Jan wasted no time in spreading the word of Kairo's trial wins as a favorable sign from their god Kretos.
Lyon had Jan provide an official update of Kairo's successes and his nature to other nobles and visors in his throne room.
"My conclusion, Sire. Kairo-wizard is a pragmatic man with no ill intentions. And his magic poses no threat."
"Sire, that magic spell he cast on our countess was cosmic power. Should we ignore this fact?" Another visor bravely countered Jan's point.
Lyon sat sternly before his court, and shared his agreement with Jan.
"The boy won by the rules our ancestors set. If he was truly a threat, our people would've suffered." His aura swelled with power when he added, "Another cosmic mage is on our side. This palace now has three of the only four in our continent. This is God's favor."
Many nods went around, agreeing with Lyon and shutting down the naysayer. Lyon strongly suggested people call the alien, Kairo-wizard from now on.
Genie frequented his favorite eatery, where he gathered people around him, who eagerly ate up his gossip. Many were convinced about Kairo being sent by Kretos to help his brother win the civil war.
The people's initial apprehension for Kairo had altered.
Many girls were excited to meet the wizard in person, expressing his demon good looks as a blessing from the gods.
Genie kept spinning this good-word gossip to ensure the fearmongering was overshadowed with popularity.
Lady Bluesteed spread her favorable opinion of Kairo to her best friend Lady Candice, as they shared a bench near the carriage buildings.
They were buzzing about the trials and ogling over still shots of Kairo in Moon-turn Maiden, a regular woman's journal for all juicy rumors and fashion trends.
The action images were captioned, "The average alien heartthrob. Is he truly not a demon?" Each shot of Kairo was labeled to reinforce his image as typical, average and mundane.
His appealing looks significantly reduced his threat rating.
This was all happening while Kairo was still recovering from a coma.
