Chapter 1:

Chapter 02 – A New Life

I Reincarnated with My Childhood Friend as Magical Girls

When I opened my eyes, I saw my new parents. My father was a muscular Caucasian man with black hair and violet eyes, dressed in hospital clothes. He looked at me and said,
“You’re a very beautiful baby, but what shall we name you? What do you think, dear?”

The woman lying in the hospital bed smiled at me and asked my father if she could hold me. He handed me to her, and I saw she had long pink hair and eyes, a slender but curvy figure. Holding me, she said,
“I’m sure you’ll grow into a great woman. I have high hopes for you.”

They decided to name me Taiyaki Rose.

After a few weeks in the hospital, they took me home—a modest two-story house, pretty and as white as snow.

They introduced me to my grandparents, a kind elderly couple who smiled happily when they saw me.

But I still wondered where Cleer was, if she had reincarnated at the same time as me, and where in this world she might be. That would have to wait for another time.

For now, I pretended to be a baby, though I refused to drink from my mother’s breast. I knew she was taking advantage of my situation, and mentally I was an adult, even if my body was that of a baby. I couldn’t exploit that.

During my first years as a child, until I was six, I stayed mostly at home and in kindergarten. I tried to be calm and not do anything strange.

I had a friend named Tatsuki, who seemed to like me. He told me that when we grew up, we’d get married. I gave him a “what?” face. Knowing I was mentally an adult, I ignored him, avoiding giving false hope and telling him I wasn’t interested. I wasn’t going to take advantage of a child who was too young to understand those things. It felt wrong, even if I was a girl in this world.

Tatsuki and I played and spent time together as friends. He joked around and I just laughed. It was all very childish, so I didn’t take it seriously.

Everything changed when I turned twelve.

While walking home, a cat looked at me and said,
“Would you like to become a magical girl?”

I remembered my mission and said yes. She cast a spell, surrounding me with a pink aura.

Before I knew it, a mirror appeared—created by the cat—and I saw myself wearing a special outfit: a violet dress with short black pointed sleeves, a light dark shirt, elegant stockings, and black heeled boots.

When the transformation ended, I said in a feminine voice,
“What kind of clothes are these? Why did you give me this outfit? Who are you, and what’s your name?”

The cat introduced herself:
“Hello, Franco. I’m Miku Dango no Kohi, your guide on the mission given by the goddess you share with your friend Cleer.”

Hearing Cleer’s name, I asked where she was in this world.

Miku answered,
“Franco—well, I should call you Taiyaki Rose Muika now—I hope you’re ready to fight the Demon Queen’s army.

“The Demon Queen’s name is Towa no Shi, or Eternal Death. She looks like a succubus with white hair, red eyes with black pupils, a voluptuous body, bat wings, a tail tipped with a heart-shaped point, and a black dress with a heart at the center. Her breasts are nearly exposed, and she has a wicked smile.”

The cat told me that alongside my friend Cleer—who now goes by Mizu no Ice—I would have to defeat her.

She showed me Cleer’s appearance: blue hair, pale skin, a slim but somewhat muscular body. She wore black clothes—shirt, pants, and shoes.

Cleer was still as beautiful as in our previous life. According to my calculations, mentally we’re both thirty years old, but physically we’re twelve-year-old girls.

I asked the cat where we lived. She said it was in this city, called Sakura City, named after its many cherry blossom trees that decorated the landscape.

This city was technologically advanced compared to the world we came from. Not even the most developed cities there compared to this one. If this city was like this, I couldn’t imagine what the best cities looked like.

Miku said,
“For your first mission, you’ll need to defeat an ogre demon sent by the Demon Queen. It will attack the park, so we must head there.”

I replied,
“Alright, let’s go to the park and stop that demon.”

We ran to the city’s central park. As I ran, I thought about how I would reunite with Cleer now that we were both girls. Although mentally a boy, it felt strange to act like a girl—but also comfortable. I even wanted to stay a girl because it felt soft, comfortable, and happy, as if something inside me had finally awakened.

It felt like paradise, living happily.

When we arrived at the park, I waited for the demon to appear. Nothing yet. I looked around.

Suddenly, I saw a tall man with a hat. But on closer inspection, I noticed he had a tail with a heart-shaped tip and bat wings.

He noticed me looking and said,
“Hey girl, do I have something on my face? Wait… are you one of those magical girls who fight us? Fine, I’ll kill you quickly and painlessly. Hope you’re ready to die.”

I took my stance to prepare for his attack. The cat told me to use the element I was assigned: dark magic.

Then, what felt like ten minutes passed in slow motion. I began learning the basics of magic and formed an idea to defeat the demon.

Feeling ready, everything returned to normal speed.

The ogre demon attacked, swinging his arms to hit me, but I dodged with some difficulty, though not too hard. He was a brute who only attacked with raw force.

Thanks to my training in my previous life, I could anticipate his moves and dodge before he struck.

I had a plan to kill him: cut off his head.

After a few minutes of dodging, the demon said,
“Are you just going to dodge my attacks? Why don’t you fight back, little girl?”

I focused and with great effort created a katana made of dark magic energy. I took my stance, ran, jumped, and slashed repeatedly until I finally cut off his head.

The demon, headless but still alive, said,
“How did I lose to a twelve-year-old girl? This is humiliating.”

I replied,
“I don’t care, loser.”

I concentrated energy in my finger, aimed, and said,
“Say hi to your queen for me.”

I shot a beam of dark energy like a pistol bullet, controlling it as if I was playing a video game fighting character.

After disintegrating the demon’s head, the body turned to dust.

It was over. I de-transformed and asked the cat,
“Where do I go now to defeat the Demon Queen?”

She told me many things: this was the most advanced city and part of a special kingdom with sixteen cities—this one and fifteen smaller, less modern ones.

The rest of the world was vast, filled with magical creatures, monsters, goblins, fairies, dragons, and more.

The Demon Queen’s kingdom was protected by a magical barrier created by humanity to keep out high-ranking demons and above.

Girls were trained to be magical girls to protect the kingdom of Itsuka no Sushi.

For now, I had to go to the Magical Girls’ guild to meet my friend Cleer, now known as mizu no ice.

But this was just the beginning of my journey.
