Chapter 24:

Genie Sips Tea at Lucky Dork

When I bought That Suspect Baroque Closet and Lamp, I Didn't Expect to Be a Mundane Wizard for the Demon Prince of Another World

Not long after Kairo had begun his solo training, Genie made a flamboyant entrance to Lucky Dork Manne.

Excited murmurs and interest gathered around him, when he cast one of his unique spirit-link spells to transform the mural wall to a display screen. The spell acted like a spiritual prism, bouncing off his spiritual consciousness link with Kairo to show his mage training.

The owner sat him at the best table near the window, and tea on the house.

Business was booming with crowded tables of patrons eagerly watching the show, while savoring their lunches.

"Genie." Lady Bluesteed occupied the spare chair at his table. "Why are you broadcasting Kairo-wizard's mage training?!"

Genie sighed, expecting her disappointment. "My brother's request."

She frowned, fretting for Kairo. "Becoming a mage is a sacred choice before the gods. This shouldn't be allowed."

"Oh? Are you worried your challenge will be publicized too?" Genie teased her, which had her puffing her cheeks with a pout.

"This is no joke, Genie." She huffed as she grabbed the tea cup Genie placed before her, and sipped to clear her anger on the matter.

"My brother's call. Besides, I trust our wizard, and he's not alone, I'm with him."

Lady Bluesteed sighed, at least she could be reassured Kairo was supported. "Okay, well just don't publicize my challenge."

"Good luck. I feel confident you'll pass, but contact me if you need help."

She nodded, then rose to take her leave.

As much as Genie tried to play it off as harmless broadcasting, even he was uncomfortable with the spectacle his brother was making of Kairo.

"For the glory of the continent, I guess."

He continued to sip his tea and support Kairo to the best of his ability.

As Kairo neared the river, a strong magic in the region was attempting to block his spirit link. A deep migraine was forming, the more he followed Kairo. But, he finished his tea and kept pushing his spirit-link to continue his support.

"He's trusting me to make him pass." Genie called the waiter for more sweet tea when his pot ran dry.
