My Ticket to Another World

Ah~ Unifor University.

One of the most respected universities in the Northeast, nationally recognized for its academic excellence. A constant highlight in the MEC rankings and a reference in several fields like Law, Health, Engineering, and Communication. With over 40,000 students throughout its history, it’s an institution that turns dreams into reality. Definitely a university that can give me a future, a real chance to become someone in life. One more step towards achieving my biggest goal: getting into college and building a successful career. It’s always been my dream to study there.

Until that day.

The day I finally managed to enroll.

But right now, just when I made it...

I END UP IN THIS HELL!!!

And then the scene shows a girl in the middle of chaos, with many people using abilities and powers straight out of movies, total madness everywhere.

Minutes before, in front of the protagonist’s house

Mom: Anna! Are you taking everything? Clothes, food, your stuff? Nothing missing, right??

Anna (rolling her eyes): It’s all here, Mom, I already said. You don’t need to worry, okay? I’m not that careless.

Mom (insistent): Are you sure? And your phone? Sunscreen for when you go to the beach? Toothbrush?

Anna: Mom!

Her mother sighs deeply.

Mom (emotional): Sorry, honey... It’s just that I’m worried but also so proud. Seeing my baby growing up... I’m going to miss you so much.

She pulls Anna into a tight hug.

Mom: Take care, okay?

Anna smiles, genuinely touched, and hugs her back.

Anna: Don’t worry, Mom. I’ll miss you a lot too.

A bus stops in front of their house.

Anna: The bus is here.

She grabs her suitcase and starts dragging it to the vehicle, waving to her mom.

Anna: Bye, Mom! I’ll call as soon as I get there!

Mom (waving back): Bye, honey! And don’t do anything stupid, okay!? Take care!

Her mom smiles proudly, with a hint of worry.

Anna gets on the bus. Inside, she sees a few passengers sitting. The bus is fairly empty—which, to her, is great: more space.

She stands to put her suitcase in the overhead compartment, struggling a bit. Then...

???: Hey, let me help you with that.

A guy sitting next to her stands up. He has a peculiar look: black hair, one dark eye and the other red. His right hand is completely bandaged.

With ease, he takes Anna’s suitcase and puts it in the compartment.

Anna (relieved): Wow, thank you so much! It was really heavy.

???: No problem. Just doing what anyone would do.

The driver looks back to check.

Driver: Everything alright? I’m about to start driving.

The bus moves. Anna waves goodbye through the window. Her mom waves back until she disappears on the horizon. Anna keeps staring out the window until she’s brought back to reality.

???: Was that your mom?

Anna (smiling): Yeah. That’s her.

Yuri: She seems nice. I bet she’s very proud of you. By the way, I’m Yuri.

Anna: Anna. Thanks for your kind words. I’ve always wanted to get into this university since I was a kid. My dream is to become a doctor.

Yuri (raising an eyebrow): Wait, what? Doctor?

Anna: Yeah! What about you? Why do you want to study at Unifor?

Yuri (confused): Unifor? Anna... I think you’re mixing things up.

Anna (puzzled): What do you mean?

Yuri: This bus is going to Tehoulp School. I’ve never heard of this “Unifor.”

Anna starts sweating nervously.

Anna (nervously): What are you talking about?

That’s when she realizes the vehicle isn’t heading towards the university.

Anna gets up and runs to the driver.

Anna: Sir, please stop the bus! There’s been a mistake!

Driver: Sorry, I can’t stop now. We’re already on the route to the school.

Anna: Sir, you don’t understand! I’m not supposed to be here!

Driver (calmly): You’re Anna, right?

She freezes.

Anna (nervous): Y-yes...?

Driver: Anna Martins Oliveira da Silva?

Anna: Y-yeah, that’s me... How do you know?

Driver (showing a tablet): Your name is here. Full registration, including your records. You’re one of Tehoulp’s students.

Anna: But that doesn’t make sense! I never enrolled in that school!

Driver: Well, that’s not up to me. I was assigned to pick you up. Now sit down, because things are going to get... dangerous.

Anna: But Sir, I’ll say it again, you’re not understanding—

Driver (a bit nervous): You’re the one not understanding!

That’s when Anna realizes... The bus is speeding straight towards a CLIFF.

Anna (panicking): A-A CLIFF?? SIR, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! STOP THE BUS NOW, WE’RE GOING TO FALL!!

Anna goes into shock and can’t move until she feels someone grab her shoulder. It’s Yuri pulling her back.

Yuri (shouting): NO TIME! SIT DOWN, ANNA!

He pushes her back into her seat and buckles her seatbelt before doing the same for himself. The bus plunges. Anna screams in pure terror and closes her eyes... until she notices it stopped falling.

She opens her eyes slowly. The bus is floating in the air. Anna is in shock, wondering if all of this is real.

Then she hears the sound of thrusters powering up. Outside, the bus’s wheels turn downward, emitting energy. Rear thrusters ignite — the bus transforms into a kind of spaceship and blasts off at supersonic speed.

Anna screams again, clutching the seat. A dimensional rift opens, and the bus dives into it.

During the trip, Anna can barely breathe. The force of the speed is insane. It’s like being crushed by all that mass and velocity. Outside, you can see the bus passing through a dimensional tunnel in a beautiful sight. Finally, the bus lands gently. Anna, curled up in her seat, barely lifts her head.

A white-haired guy wearing a top hat passes by laughing:

???: Relax, mashed potato. Want me to wrap you up for the trip? Lol xD

Yuri gets up right after the guy passes and grabs Anna’s suitcase.

Yuri: We’re here, Anna. Let’s go.

He says this while helping her stand up.

Anna (dizzy): We’re here... where?

SCENE: School entrance

Outside, Anna faces the gigantic school. Trees surround the place like a natural wall. But the most surprising thing is the students — using all kinds of powers, from different species, in a total visual chaos.

Yuri (walking away): Well, that’s it. I have some things to take care of, you know. See you around. It was nice meeting you, Anna. Bye.

He waves as he walks off.

Anna walks slowly toward the school entrance, still in shock.

She opens the door. The chaos continues: Students using abilities that defy all logic, like something straight out of a sci-fi movie.

Back to the initial scene.

Anna (nervously laughing): This can’t... this can’t be happening...

Until she faints.
