Chapter 15:
Handcuffs and Bloodstains
The winds chimed gently, the sun was bright... Although it was still cold, but Tae was more focused on the scene in front of him.
Rurik Dyavol Sokolov. The Khladnokrovny Sokolov. Was now in cuffs. The HQ would have something to say about that... After all, they weren't expecting him to make it out alive.
Oh they definitely would have a lot of questions. They always do.
"You were good Dong-hwan." Rurik said, standing in front him, hands being held by the police and wrists cuffed. It was a sight to behold, really. At least that's what Tae thought.
"Glad you think so. What was your favourite Khladnokrovny?" Asked Tae stepping closer, he could see the police holding Rurik, clearly tensing up, holding him straighter, tighter.
"You missed Alexiei's dimples Belka~" Said Rurik staggering forward, ignoring the hold of the two officers, who were probably more than glad he did.
Tae's eyes widened, probably for a fraction of seconds. "You knew hm?" He asked, not sure how he was supposed to get dimples. Although he did have one on his chin, it was covered with makeup the entire time though.
And that was probably the only part Rurik did not enjoyed of this game.
The little girl dressed up as a fairy, whose name Tae found out had been Dahlia after seeing the tag on her apron, also stood in front of what looked like a Bar. Why was she working? She's far too young—. But before Tae could finish his thoughts, he felt arms enveloping his neck, tight enough to bruise and probably cut off his air supply.
Rurik.
He leaned closer, his nose brushing over Tae's cheekbones, lips hovering above his ears, it could've or would've been an intimate moment if they weren't enemies. If they weren't a police and his arrested criminal. If Rurik wasn't choking Tae. If they didn't hate eachother.
"We'll meet again. And when that happens, my dear Belka, I won't let you go." Promised Rurik in his smooth, but low voice before being dragged away by other officers inside the car. Rurik never breaks his promises. But there was something about that promise that made Tae look forward to their next meeting if there would be any.
Back to the girl. Tae turned around, everyone from before was still present. Except for the girl. She must've gone back inside the bar, and Tae needed to investigate this matter.
"Mr. Dong-hwan." Said an officer, Kim Seo-jae. Min-jae's brother. "You are to report to the HQ director immediately."
"Mr. Kim, I can't. You have to—" Tae was cut off.
"Sorry sir, those are the orders from the Head Quarters." Mr. Seo-jae said firmly. His grip on Tae's shoulder tightening. Oh how Rurik would've despised that.
Damn this.
