Chapter 39:
StarSpace 2
“Y’know Voltaze, storming around like that won’t get you anywhere!” exclaimed Styra with extreme anger.
As the group faced their ginormous enemy, all of them chimed in to see what they were dealing with.
“She’s got a point Grumpy Gordo! You can’t just go around havin’ a temper tantrum just because things got bad. What happened to solvin’ your problems instead of startin’ em’ for no reason?!” asked Chelbie.
“It just so happens that all of you are blind to the countless realities you think exist to satiate your desires. All I see now are trapped vessels constantly lying to themselves. There is no other way outside of this pathetic order except absolute omnicide,” said Voltaze.
Most of The Judgment Warriors were becoming irritated with his willingness to manipulate each and every one of them to achieve his goal. However, one of them began to believe that there was a chance to reach him.
“And that’s the issue. You’re asking for a war where you expect peaceful resolution. These are the same goddamn mistakes many leaders across nations from my world have made. If you don’t want to make those same choices, we have to discuss and work it out together to find it,” suggested Flight.
“You say that and ignore the fact that making peace with those Guardians Of The Omniverse is single-handedly the stupidest decision you’ve made. They deserve what was coming to their corrupt authority. Nothing can dissuade me from what they have done.”
Deep down, Styra could understand his perspective. The only thing that was missing was to show it was evident. Even though Emeraldion had told her about Amethion telling him to guard Niantom, she had a feeling that a compromise could be made if he appeared now to help them.
“Wait! What if we can get one guardian we freed to help you without hurting everyone?”
The moment this question was raised, Voltaze’s rage began to boil inside to the point where his impatience also started to crack.
“You freed a guardian?!”
That long pause told them he was beyond pissed, but in the very same instance, it caused him to act strangely as well.
His darker side began to show as he gave a diabolically sinister laugh.
“You made this all too easy for me. Now I know exactly what to do,” he said before unleashing all of his smaller clones against them.
With the battle already unfolding, the four Judgment Warriors teamed up together against his army as they worked together to stop the chaotic situation.
However, this very approach led to Voltaze using each of the replicas to create a darker version of himself that became fully embodied with the power of every Eternal Light he collected. This transformed him into a more uncanny monstrosity whose eyes looked as if they were charging into vividly dangerous vortexes.
Seeing that this was getting out of hand, Styra remembered a certain encounter with the statue of Princess Candiere that was beginning to make sense in this current conflict.
“Eternika, these clones that Voltaze is generating… They are fake like that stone princess we battled…“
The weapon began to formulate a strategy from the previous battles.
And then an interesting idea came to its attention.
“How about we let it rip?” it asked with a stronger sense of confidence than the last time.
Styra smiled, recognizing that what they were about to do would be a combination of combative moves that would be to their advantage.
While Flight, Chelbie, and Kade were scattered around the city fighting Voltaze’s army, Styra closed her eyes to envision outer space until she transformed into Kosmika. When this happened, the weapon and her immediately started targeting the center of each clone’s head from a high view as they teleported in rapid succession
Like a bouncing drill bypassing straight into their husk-ridden corpses, each hit led to another, causing the damaged replicas to transfer every Eternal Light’s power that they had back to Voltaze himself.
One by one, the clones were dissipating into thin air.
That was, until, Voltaze sent what was called a Fractal Whirlwind.
This ability tore through the atmosphere of the planet, infecting the dark clouds with the Eternal Light Of Fractality. As this thing unveiled itself, it turned into what looked like a giant glowing minty green tornado.
It began to move around and tear the fabric of realities that were keeping the world together.
Being nearly within its vicinity, both Styra and Eternika tried to fly out of the way. However, it caused them to crash into a few buildings with how close they were to its destructive force.
More began to form across the world of Revv, taking everything that it could find within its range inside of it, never to be seen again.
Styra, being nearly unconscious from the hit as the fractal energy almost tore a scratch through her body, Flight flew over to them while helping her up gently.
“Don’t worry Styra, I’m here for you.”
During the exchange between one another, she started to see the red blood seeping out as a wound from herself. It also began to flicker into a purplish glow at times while trying to heal the abrasive damage done to her skin.
Putting her hand over it as she limped next to the window of a building, the pain started to build and creep its way into her mind as she struggled to fight a mental vortex that was similar to what Voltaze had seen when he was imprisoned.
“I d-don’t know if I can m-make it, Flight…”
Stumbling towards the ground, she stared at her shaking hand which was becoming numb every second. Her thoughts dwindled, gradually losing a slight grip on the awareness of everything around herself.
She couldn’t abandon her friends again.
Not like this.
After every single situation they had gone through, with Flight having been there to save her since the beginning, she knew it was the right thing to keep pushing against the agony within her heart.
While Flight was helping Styra up towards the sidewalk, Chelbie approached them in the Flamethrottle Fury with an enlightening smile as she glared at her three friends with raw determination.
“Need a ride?”
Flight nodded yes to this offer, causing Chelbie to open a secret compartment within her monster truck that allowed the three of them to enter into the backseat area.
Driving as fast as they could past other futuristic vehicles called Hypheons, these compact yet extremely versatile innovations were built with advanced AI piloting humans inside of them from place to place.
“Kade, can you report your status to us regarding your location?” asked Flight.
“Still trying to fight off more of these clones. They’re heading for your direction,” he replied while driving the MadCyke Motorbike Chelbie gave him.
“Oh hell nah, we’re gonna need to take our own detour! Anyone know how we can even stop this guy? He could destroy the entire planet if we wait too long to do something!” warned Chelbie.
“We have many different options currently. Our best bet right now is for Styra to use The Star Sense so we can repair the Omniverse. She did something akin to it before, she has the potential to fix them again at a larger scale. The only issue is we may need to bring a guardian who is embedded with fractal energy and the power of nine Eternal Lights back to its senses…”
During the frantic drive through the dystopian streets of Hypercity, Chelbie could swear that she saw the familiar face of Lucila Vanderhilt walking past her truck on the sidewalk.
Even then however with those violent flashbacks of them against each other, she couldn’t let that hold her back.
The motivation from within her began to stir as she saw signs pointing towards a more open route.
“Hot on the road today eh? Let’s see if they can handle this high-speed chase on a highway!”
Turning up near the right corner, Chelbie pushed harder on her gas pedal, merging the vehicle through oncoming traffic.
Just as the group were accelerating past the other Hypheons, Voltaze’s clones could be seen flying behind them as they crushed through any obstacles getting in their way.
“We need a way to distract em’ guys. Any ideas at all right about now would be good,” mentioned Chelbie as she was being directed by Eternika who also began to help teleport her around different parts of the expressway to buy time.
Looking back at their hostile enemies swarming behind, Flight opened the secret compartment from the Flamethrottle Fury which allowed him to hang from the outside and shoot his Crimson Chargeon at each one as fast as he could.
Wailing sirens from the Hypercity Patrol’s own aircraft and vehicles could be seen following from outside the highway’s perimeter as they also began to strike bullets at the Flamethrottle Fury without regard for the other casualties that it would create.
“Ya gotta be fuckin’ kidding me! We’re on their side and they want to start tearin’ through my favorite truck like it’s nothing?! Oh, they’re askin’ for it the hard way!” yelled Chelbie as she thought up of another risky move during the pursuit as her eyes were locked towards the next exit.
“Hey guys, hear me out on this. I’m gonna make a huge maneuver. Like flippin’ the truck as quickly as I can. When I do this, and dare I say it Eternika, I want you to teleport me on top of the nearest building within the exit’s vicinity.”
“You sure about this? That’s a lot more damage to private property and we’re already in bad standing out here,” warned Flight.
“Let’s just say it’ll give us more leeway. And don’t worry, I’m not goin’ to start crashin’ through windows and stuff—”
Before the conversation could go any further, a sudden hit from underneath their vehicle launched the truck into the air.
It came from none other than Voltaze himself who immediately used his hand to grip the wheels and bring it crashing down with everyone inside.
Although Eternika luckily managed to get all four of them into a Kra Forcefield beforehand, the speed at which it happened created chaos as Voltaze turned his hand into a cube, punching the group out of its protection using The Eternal Light Of Space.
This disrupted the core of Revv, creating a gravitational force so strong that several distant worlds within its proximity proceeded to drift toward it.
By that point, Kade drove into the hectic battle as Voltaze stood there more menacingly and unhinged than he had been before while decapitated bodies, mechanical debris, smoke, and fire was all that could be seen blocking the way.
Jumping high off of an entrance ramp that led to the highway, Solar Ninja hopped from the motorbike. Swinging out his blade, he struck for the beast’s head. Meanwhile, Voltaze on the opposing side began to block the force of this brightly fierce power with his arm. The energy charging throughout his body powered up, making him more aggressive as he pushed Kade miles down the expressway at high velocity.
With the imminent destruction of time and space itself becoming more and more at risk of happening by the second, Styra put one foot in front of the other while attempting to take a stand the best she could.
In less than the blink of eye, an important realization came to her mind that coincided with what she was going through right now.
Cherry’s own armor was constructed from the Surreality Shard, the same power she now converted into preon stars within her own body thanks to Compass.
Yet, currently, the damaged armored suit that she was wearing could also technically hold it as well.
What was stopping her from doing so?
And then it dawned on Styra as she was touching the ground and thinking of where to find a space-time singularity, she thought up of a daring idea.
One that could potentially change the odds of their situation.
