Chapter 12:
I've become a Ghost summoner class(?)
Chapter 14 – The Ghost Egg(???)
The four night wolves dropped dead in front of Roy.
Velcous’ eyes widened. “Master! What happened to you?!”
Roy just stood still, looking confused. “…It feels like it’s been fifty years since…”
Velcous tilted his head. “What are you talking about, Master?”
Roy turned to him and gave a small smile. “Long time no see, Velcous.”
Velcous frowned. “Did something happen during your headache?”
Roy thought for a moment, then stared at Velcous. Velcous, you can read my mind, right?
“Yes, Master.”
Do you know Blood King?
“Blood King? Who is that? I have no memory of that name.”
You and I share the same memories, right?
“Yes, Master.”
So… you can’t read the memories of other beings?
“I can, but only if I eliminate them first. That way, their memories become mine.”
Alright, thanks for the info. I’ll tell you something later… after I kill those 129 monsters around us.
In the shadows, glowing eyes stared back—129 night goblins, watching Roy.
Velcous was shocked by Roy’s thoughts. “Master… you’re different right now. No normal human can detect the exact number of monsters. You feel stronger after that dagger skill.”
Roy pointed his dagger at the dead wolf. Without opening his skill menu, he activated Ancient Ghost Summon (Unique), using 3 souls. Now, only 3 were left.
Velcous was speechless. “You used a skill without even opening your window?”
It’s my instincts. After living fifty years as Blood King Exolus, I learned how skills really work.
“That’s… unbelievable, Master.”
The air around the wolves twisted like a whirlpool of souls. Velcous grew cautious. “Master, if the summoning fails, we must defeat whatever appears.”
The aura was so strong that the goblins panicked and ran away.
All the goblins are leaving…
“They’re scared of what you’re summoning, Master.”
Meanwhile, in the northern scout camp
A soldier rushed to the scout leader. “Leader! We feel a dangerous aura from the north forest! It might be a boss monster respawning!”
The scout leader grabbed his radio. “ALL UNITS! Retreat and—”
Before he could finish, an explosion shook the gate.
“What the hell was that?!”
The gate burst open—adventurers poured in.
“Attack anyone who stands in our way!” their leader shouted.
Gunfire erupted as scouts fired rifles, but they were overwhelmed.
A scout stumbled to his leader. “Sir! The adventurers are attacking us!”
“What?! Don’t they know there’s a—”
Before he finished, an adventurer’s blade pierced the soldier.
“Tsk, you’re weak without us protecting this place,” a voice said.
The scout leader glared. “Who are you? Why are you attacking us?!”
The man stepped forward—it was the vice leader of the adventurers.
“Well, you’re interrupting our plans.”
Scouts fell one after another. The leader dropped to his knees. “Please! Don’t kill me!”
The vice leader smirked. “Don’t worry—you’ll die painlessly.” He raised his sword.
“Wait! I’ll tell you the government’s plans and the location of every scout!”
The vice leader paused. “Alright. Speak.”
“The government ordered us to find the bandits’ hideout and rescue some children.”
“What children?”
“…The child of the Saint Hero Michael.”
The vice leader’s eyes lit up, hiding his excitement.
“I’ll spare you and don't mention my name to anyone else. Here’s a gift.” He used Skill: Zero of Absolute (Unique).
A strange mark glowed on the scout leader.
“It’s a permanent buff. You’ll be undetectable to the naked eye,” the vice leader explained.
The scout leader bowed. “Thank you!”
“But remember… if you break our deal, because there are consequences.”
The scout leader nodded and ran off.
Skill: Zero of Absolute (Unique)
permanent buff: Absolute Undetected Description: You have become undetected to the naked eye.
Effect: 0% Detection rate
Negative effect: your HP becomes 0% if the user violeted the deal.
The vice leader turned to his men. “We’re heading north.”
One adventurer frowned. “But north is full of monsters.”
“The safest place for wanted people… is the most dangerous place.”
He smirked in thought. I’ve found two perfect candidates for the Seven Deadly Sins.
Back to Roy
“This is taking a while…” Roy muttered.
Velcous nodded.
The Souls swirling around has vanished.
A notification popped up:
[You have obtained: Ghost Egg (Ancient)]
Roy blinked. “I’ve never seen this before.”
“Ghost egg? I thought you’d summon something like me,” Velcous said.
Roy opened his inventory and checked the description:
Ghost Egg (Ancient)
The egg that cannot be obtained. Hatching this egg is impossible.
“That’s… confusing,” Velcous muttered.
Roy was about to reply when a murderous aura filled the air.
“Someone’s coming,” he said.
Velcous’ expression darkened. “You’re right. My ghost wolves were just killed… by the vice leader of the adventurers. Something feels wrong.”
Even after fifty years as Exolus, I still remember my regrets as Roy. The monster wave should happen in three days… so why are adventurers outside the wall now?
“Maybe because you’ve changed the timeline,” Velcous suggested.
Roy stared at him. “…If this is just a dream, I’ll still change it.”
“Yes, Master.”
“Alright! Let’s kill those bandits who hurt Maro. After that, I’ll deal with the vice leader.”
“You’re right, Master!”
