Chapter 17:
I Summoned as a Hero?! But I’m Actually the Demon King!
The battlefield trembled as the clash erupted, each strike sending shockwaves through the ancient ruins. Sparks flew, and the air shimmered with the intensity of magic.
Ordo: “Humans… you will never defeat me!”
Seraphine stepped forward, radiant energy swirling around her hands. She channeled her power into Layla and Shion, enhancing their speed and strength.
Layla: “Thanks, Seraphine! With this, I can strike him faster!”
Shion: “Don’t get overconfident, Layla. He might be stronger than we expect.”
The two charged, blades flashing with precision. Leonix, meanwhile, carved through waves of Goblins, Orcs, and Undead, his every movement a blur of calculated lethality. He had no choice but to unleash his strongest magic.
Leonix: “—Corona Storm Blaze!”
A massive explosion of fire and radiant energy engulfed the area, reducing everything in its radius to ash. Smoke swirled, and the ground cracked under the force. Once the enemies were cleared, Leonix surged forward, closing in on Ordo. Three against one now.
Ordo: “So, the three of you finally unite to take me down? Go ahead… try if you can!”
Leonix’s Gaim Sword, imbued with the Drag Saber Blaze, danced with flames as he pressed Ordo onto the defensive. Each strike echoed through the ruins, leaving scorch marks and shattered stone.
Just as they prepared to finish the attack, a sudden, crackling wave of magic erupted from the pink-haired girl, her presence commanding and dangerous.
Mysterious Girl: “Shockwave Dash!”
Ordo: “You’re late… the party was almost over.”
Mysterious Girl: “Relax. The real celebration is only beginning.”
Leonix’s eyes widened in recognition.
Leonix: “Ilulu? Why are you here?”
Shion: “Leon… you know her?”
Leonix: “Yes. She was once one of my father’s attendants, one of the strongest Demon Generals. But after my father died… she disappeared without a trace.”
Ilulu’s gaze sharpened, her words cold yet resolute.
Ilulu/Natalia: “So you think I came to this world just because your father rejected me? Don’t ever say that name again. I’ve discarded it. I refuse to be tied to him.”
Ilulu/Natalia: “My name is now Natalia. Given by Demon King Oberon himself—someone who values me far more than your father ever did.”
Ordo: “Hah… so the three of you are from the same world? This is getting interesting.”
Natalia: “I will never side with him, not even his son.”
Ordo lunged suddenly, his massive blade slicing toward Natalia.
Sreeeek!
Natalia: “Ordo…? Why are you doing this?”
Ordo: “Because you’ve always been in my way. Always stopping me.”
Natalia: “But… I taught you everything, even the mana-draining sword techniques…”
Ordo: “And you still trusted me? Foolish… haven’t you learned that demons are full of deceit?”
He hurled Natalia’s weakened body toward Leonix and his companions.
Leonix’s anger flared, a storm ready to consume everything.
Leonix: “Damn you… TRAITOR!”
He surged forward, a streak of red and black, his speed almost invisible.
Ordo: “Damn… he’s too fast!”
Leonix gripped the ORB Calibur Sword Magnificent, ignoring Seraphine’s warning.
Seraphine: “Leon! If you use that sword again, you’ll seriously injure yourself—just like last time!”
But Leonix paid no heed. He poured every ounce of his strength into the assault, each strike shaking the ruins. Natalia, lying on the ground, could only watch with a faint, bitter smile, wondering why Leonix cared so much for her despite her betrayal.
Seraphine and Layla rushed to heal her, but her demon body resisted the holy magic entirely.
Seraphine: “Damn… why does it always have to be like this? I just want to save someone, but I can never succeed…”
Layla: “Calm down, Seraphine. Keep trying. Remember what Lady Kafka said: ‘Never give up.’”
The battle raged on. Sparks flew, walls crumbled, and shockwaves tore through the ruins.
Shion stayed back, silently observing. She knew this was Leonix’s fight, a battle only he could win.
