Chapter 47:
Our Town in another world
As the great sky puma opened it's mouth once more, Shalala and Harajuku blasted towards it just as they had before. However, their trajectory was off, and they flew straight into the great sky puma's mouth.
"Now! Cast diamond magic over the whole plane! I'll assist!" DaVinci ordered.
Borfered scowled, but begrudgingly complied, slamming his hands down on the floor and encasing the exterior of the plane in a diamond shell.
"FOOLS! MY STOMACH SHALL INCINERATE YOU! YOUR SACRIFICE IS WORTHLESS! ALL SHALL BE DEVOURED!" the great sky puma proclaimed as it stared down at the plane and began charging down towards it.
"Who said we're going for the stomach? That's way too big for this," Shalala smirked as she and Harajuku stopped right at the bottom of the great sky puma's throat.
They then turned towards each other and held their hands above their heads, forming a giant energy ball. They then let the ball loose and dove further down inside the great sky puma as fast as they could.
"Let's see you tank our Crownkirb attack?" Shalala smirked as she snapped her fingers.
In that instant, the energy ball compressed to the size of a golf ball before exploding into a massive energy mushroom cloud.
The great sky puma's eyes bulged out of their sockets. "NGH!? MY- MY THROAT!? WHAT- AAAAAAAHHHHH!"
And with a mighty blast, the explosion ripped through the great sky puma's throat from within, decapitating and killing the massive beast right there. The force of the explosion sent the head flying just past the plane, but the great sky puma's massive body was still en route to flatten the plane.
"Sound like it was fireworks! Now we gotta get this carcass out of here," Harajuku grinned as she and Shalala began propelling the great sky puma's body from within, shifting it just far enough away so that it would fall down without flattening the plane.
They then made their escape as the great sky puma's body plummeted to the ground below, bringing forth a massive tremor as it hit the ground.
Rosa and Mizata both stared out the window in shock, both thinking the exact same thing. "They... They killed it..."
"Wish I got a crack at it," Borferd grumbled as he dispelled the diamond barrier.
Shalala and Harajuku then returned to the plane and were greeted with a hero's welcome after closing the door behind them of course.
"I had a feeling you two would do it," Muki smiled, still in control of Jenna's body, as she wheeled out a massive cake.
"That looks delish! Is it-"
"Just for you two? Yup. This is only to be eaten by those that can kill great sky pumas."
Harajuku and Shalala grinned from ear to ear and instantly dove into the cake, devouring it like animals.
"BURP! That was a hell of a cake, but I think we need a bit more," Shalala growled.
"Did you really think I wouldn't anticipate that?" Muki smiled as she wheeled out another large cake.
"That's first class service for ya! Now how about the drinks? My throat's parched."
"Coming right up."
Everyone else watched in dismay as the second cake vanished before their eyes.
"That looked delicious. Isn't there any for us?" Rosa thought.
"Nope, but the drinks are for everyone," Muki grumbled as she wheeled out a cart full of drinks. "Oh, but heroes get the best stuff," she snarled as she poured Harajuku and Shalala large glasses of cola.
"As we should! We're special, so give us some meat too," Harajuku snickered.
"First you gotta toast. To the death of the great sky puma!" Muki proclaimed as she raised a cup of water.
Everyone clanked their cups and glasses together before chugging everything down. However, the festivities soon took a drastic turn as Harajuku and Shalala began clutching their stomachs in pain.
"Gah! My... ACK!" Harajuku cried as she crumbled to the floor in pain, with Shalala following.
Then before anyone could act, Muki pounced on the two, pulling out two handguns, each with extra large cartridges, from Jenna's suit coat and shoving them into Harajuku's and Shalala's heads. Without mercy, she unloaded the cartridges, yet despite their weakened states, the two elves managed to prevent the bullets from fully penetrating their skulls. It wouldn't last though as the heightened stomach pain broke their concentration enough for Muki to pound the chain of bullets through their heads, killing them. That wasn't good enough for Muki though as she tossed aside the empty guns and pulled out two hunting knives, slicing off the elves' heads and stabbing them on both sides of their chests.
Rosa watched in horror, but she was the only one distraught as the others all stared with neutral looks on their faces. Borferd and Mizata even joined in to ensure the two were dead, only stopping once Muki finally let up.
"Wh- Why... Why did you kill them?" Rosa trembled.
Muki winced in pain and clutched her head. "Are you stupid? They're a threat to us all."
"They just saved us!"
"Only today. They come back to our down, they'll starve us to death by eating all our food in a single go!"
"I only put up with these barbarians just in the chance we could use them as sacrifices for the great sky puma. Had we brought them to Evendale, there would be bloodshed, with them possibly being the victors," Mizata glared as her hands trembled.
"And if I kill the ones that killed that giant sky puma, that makes me the strongest," Borferd huffed.
"Then that honor would go to Jenna- No, Muki is the one in control, yes?" DaVinci asked as he stared directly at Jenna.
"Won't be for much longer. I'm switching back to normal viewing. Been straining my damn head too long," Muki grumbled as she ceased controlling Jenna's body.
Jenna's eyes closed, but slowly reopened seconds later as she found herself back in control of her own body. "So, you were successful then, madam," she thought as she stared at the corpses of Harajuku and Shalala.
"Are you distraught?" DaVinci asked.
"No. Madam's concerns for these two were valid. We needed to eliminate them for our sake."
"You too, Jenna!?" Rosa cried.
"Rosa, the concept of killing may be repulsive to you, but in the eyes of your fellow humans, it was a necessity. These two have been revered as some of the most powerful beings in this world. With great power, comes great fear of it from those far weaker," DaVinci frowned.
"But... they were once human, right? They have human names, are familiar with our culture, they even have print manga from our era!"
"And you think that means they're isekaid humans that got OP powers?" Muki's voice crackled on the loudspeaker. "You didn't see their faces when they first came to town. Those weren't the faces of people who were reunited with their old life, those were people seeing sights they worshiped for the first time. And how did they treat us in town? They raided our stores, gobbled down our food from the shelves without paying, and killed all who tried to reign them in. They saw our town as nothing more than a playground and would have eventually killed us all off! Do you think that dark elf that tried to kill you should have lived too!?"
Rosa went silent, unable to come up with a good rebuttal. Deep down, she knew Muki's reasoning for killing the two elves was grounded in reason rather than petty racism or her misanthropic personality. Most of all, she didn't want to admit that she had failed to notice the threat Harajuku and Shalala were posing, or possibly that she had, but discarded it due to wanting to see the two as humans.
"Maybe it's because you aren't a pure goody-good like Yamane, but it's always the kind that are taken advantage of the easiest and live the shortest lives. That's why you'll never be a proper leader; you don't have the guts to kill to save. Now get back to your seat. My heads pounding, so I don't want anymore disturbances while I rest it," Muki snarled as the intercom went silent.
