Extra Ki Skill

"Well done." Xenon sheathes his blade as he proceeds to help Reiji.

"I might have gone a little overboard with the last attack, sorry about that."

Walking behind him, Xenon pushes Reiji to sit as he places his palm on the back of Reiji.

"Here, let me help. Focus on sensing, the Ki that I send into you. It should feel like a current of energy, flowing like a stream of smoke."

A warm feeling begins spreading from Xenon's palm through out Reiji's body. Slowly rejuvenating him. His wounds began mending slowly, causing an itching sensation as if ants were crawling all over him.

Focusing internally, Reiji could sense nothing but the warmth spreading through him. The more he focused, the harder it became. Tensing his body and muscles, his brows furrowed in deep concentration, yet nothing appeared.

Seeing his frustration, Xenon began guiding him. "Relax, Reiji. You're trying too hard. Try to find a feeling of peace, something that enables you to relax."

Reiji begins thinking about his past experiences, the friends left behind on Earth of the happy times spent together. No, not quite. The moment he felt the most at peace, was when he was riding his motorcycle, over a long stretch of road, feeling the wind on his back.

Sensing the calmness taking over Reiji, Xenon begins pouring in more Ki through his palm. "That's it. Hold on to that feeling, now look inwards and sense the external Ki that doesn't belong to you."

With new found calm, Reiji's mind was still like a pond. The moment Xenon's Ki current began spreading through out his body, he found it straight away. 

Feeling and understanding the quality of Xenon's Ki, Reiji was able to sense his own easily. Focusing at his naval, he found a pool of energy swirling gently like the shape of a galaxy. Grabbing on to it mentally, he began to move it. Spinning it in the same direction. As the energy swirled faster, it began spreading throughout his body.

Using his Ki, Reiji begins to assimilate Xenon's Ki with his own. As the two currents became one, the speed of his wounds healing increased. Sensing Reiji's control Xenon cuts off his own Ki, letting Reiji heal himself with his own Ki.

After half an hour Reiji, reopens his eyes, his wounds have fully healed. 

"Congratulations Reiji. Not only have you unlocked two out of three fundamental Ki skills, you've also unlocked another one, Ki Heal. It allows you to circulate your own Ki to heal your wounds and fatigue!" Elnyra notifies Reiji mentally.

"Hmm. I seem to have unlocked another skill called Ki Heal, apart from Ki Sense, and Ki Control." Reiji looks at Xenon.

"Ah. Originally, I wasn't going to teach you this, but seeing as you were hurt quite bad from my demonstration... Just consider this as an apology."

"Right... So? What about the last skill?" 

"Well the last skill is the easiest to unlock. Simply gather your Ki into your fist. Pour as much Ki as you can, and hold it for as long as possible." 

"That doesn't sound too hard."

"Heh. There's a reason that Ki Concentration is the most important and hardest of Ki fundamentals. You'll see soon enough." Xenon says with a mysterious smile.

"Here." Tapping out a specific rhythm, a stone tile rises up, becoming a solid block of rock with runes etched all over it. "Once you've managed to store the Ki, punch out at this."

Seeing the stone tablet, Reiji couldn't help but whistle at how old fashioned the training was. It reminded him of fist conditioning back on earth.

Breathing in and out, Reiji enters the ready stance of karate. Compressing as much Ki into his right fist as possible, his forehead begins to form beads of sweat. It was like stacking multiple dominos on top of each other. The first few levels at the base was easy, but the higher you go, the harder it became. 

Not only was the efficiency decreasing as more Ki was being compressed, the stored Ki was also beginning to leak out, dispersing into the surroundings. Unable to hold on any longer, Reiji punches out with a right straight, his fist glowing with a faint red aura. 

"Ora!"

With a loud krak, his fist sinks wrist deep into the tablet. The runes on the tablet glowed once, and the damage was repaired. "Damn, it's much harder than I thought."

"You've just unlocked the final skill. But as you can see, it is much harder to master. The only way to destroy this tablet, is to shatter it completely." Patting the tablet gently. Xenon smiles at Reiji. "To do that, you would have to be able to increase the strength of your attack by at least five fold."

Sighing with frustration Reiji could only nod at Xenons words. He has learned the basics now it was up to him to master them.

"So now that I have all the Ki fundamentals, when are you gonna teach me how to shoot fire or lightning out of my hands? Not that I'm not greatful for these skills, but it really doesn't feel like a fantasy world if I can't shoot magic spells." 

Reiji finally ask giddily, hoping to do something more grand. He'd been waiting patiently since he arrived in this world. But he could no longer hold it in.

Hearing his question, Xenon smiles at Reiji, gently placing a hands on his shoulders.

"I'm sorry... but you can't... You will never be able to use spells."

Like a bolt of lightning, Reiji could only shout in confusion.

"Ehhhh?"
