The Final Blow

"Let me give you an edge." 

A faint determined voice came from the figure infront of him. Stepping forward - no longer trembling, but a figure standing tall, weapon in hand. Her violet eyes determined and resolute, her long purple sleeveless coat elegantly flowing, complementing her eyes.

"You're -"

"I'm Nraltia Vukova." she said sharply, announcing her participation in the battle. "I owe you my life, as thanks, let me lend you my strength."

Pushing himself to his feet, a smile crept across his face, as he wiped the blood from his mouth. "Heh. Just don't fall behind."

Tapping the floor with her spear, a soft chant spilled from her lips. Regenerate, a soft green light wrapped around Reiji, his torn muscles knitting, his wounds fading away. 

Repeating the motion, another small golden light enveloped Reiji's wrist and ankles, Sylphs Breath, sharpening his senses, reducing the weight of gravity, on his body.

"Don't think I'll just sit in the back." She added, spinning her spear with fluid grace. "I can fight also." 

Howling with madness, the Minotaur lunged, it's claws tearing up shards of cavern floor. 

Reiji rushes forward, Blitzing at the last second, the attack goes wide. 

Nraltia slipped under it's arm, her spear flashing. Binding Shackles, chains of mana lashed the beast's elbow, locking it's joint for a fleeting moment, incapacitating both arms.

"Now!"

Reiji palm cracked into it's sternum, Rending Strike, black ichor spraying out. But the beast retaliated, it's thick tail swpeeing like a scythe.

Nraltia blocked with her spear, the runes flared along it's shaft, Void Thrust, canceling out the attack with her own. Reiji soars through the air, landing behind the Minotaur, Howling Storm, the same move that felled the Minotaur earlier, smashes into it's back, toppling it.

She didn't just heal, she read the flow. Something only a highly skilled combatant could do.

Each time the Minotaur swung, she nudged its balance with magic, or a flickering thrust. Each move, calculated, each spell a baited hook. Her weapon work was measured, precise, never wasteful. Short jabs, canceling out attacks, quick sweeps, parrying blows, sharp cuts, marking the beast's hide.

"Don't let up!" she called, throwing another spell. Frigid Storm, a gust of swirling frost wrapped around the beast, slowing its movement, creating an opening. Sweeping it's leg, Reiji cuts through, using Stunning Blow, throwing it off balance.

But the beast didn't fall, it's corrupted aura surged around it's tail, slamming Reiji across the floor, stone shattering under his sliding body. He coughed blood, his vision swimming, his body protesting, but his grin only widened.

"Damn, that hurts."

The girl's voice rose, Moonlit Pulse, threads of gentle light stitched his torn muscles, his two streams of Ki snapped back in balance. His aura flared, surging from regained vitality, a storm of black and white raging around him.

They moved as one. She darted in with her short spear, a silver flash drawn across it's thigh, her free hand carving spells in the air, Elusive Thrust, Wind Seal. Each strike manipulating it's posture, each spell destabilizing it.

Reiji moved through the openings, eblow to chest, knee to ribs, fist to throat. Each strike a verse, pulled into a song.

The minotaur reeled, it's one eye wildly ablaze, Reiji roared, unleashing a gigantic Beast Fang, point blank, an explosion of black and white enggulfed the beast. The beast convulsed, roaring madly, it's limbs flailing about, yet with the two people infront, it could touch neither of them.

"Damn, you're amazing!" Reiji roared through bloodied teeth.

"Focus please. Compliments can't wait."

Their combination continued, dancing together, against the corrupted Outer Beast, completely controling the flow of battle. The Minotaur, no longer a threat, yet it's regeneration was still happening, despite taking longer due to Reiji's Ki.

"Reiji destroy it in one go!" The voice of Elnyra echoed in his mind.

"Lock it down!" He shouts to his new companion.

Bowing gracefully "You're wish is my command." stabbing her spear into the ground.

Chain of Tartarus, black chains twice as thick, shoot out of the ground, like serpents, lashing each joint of the minotaur. It roars, refusing to accept, but even that ends abruptly, as another chain wraps around it's snout.

Seeing it's state, Reiji's two colored aura flares up, brighter than ever, his final attack, consuming everything he has. Launching himself, Reiji flies through the air, somersaulting, into a giant axe kick, smashing down onto the beast, like an executioner. The Ki aura swirls around his boots, forming a giant axe head, cleaving the corrupted Minotaur from top to bottom.

A loud bang reverberates out, rotten blood, dust, and rock shrapnels flying everywhere. The two halves of the Minotaur stills, it's wriggling muscles no longer able to sustain it, the sickly alien aura, fading away.

Silently, it begins to disintegrate from top to bottom, turning into ash, leaving nothing behind, but the two figures who fell it, and a cracked black shard where it's core use to be.

"It's finally over." Reiji exhales, picking up the cracked shard. "Thanks for the assist, couldn't have done it without you."

Leaning on her spear, Nraltia gives him a small wink. "It's only right I help the person who risked his life for mine."

His cheeks flush red hot, unsure of what to do. Elnyra giggling at his bashfulness.

"So, I see you've regain your memories." He says aloud, ignoring the irresponsible goddess.

She smiles sadly, shaking her head. "Seeing you risk your life for me, lit a fire in me. It reminded me of who I was."

"That is?"

"A warrior named Nraltia Vukova, of the Leporine. Apart from that, I don't remember anything..." Her ears droop slightly, although proud, it's still hard to live in a blank void, where your past used to be.

"So you still have amnesia... well, aslong as your alive. You'll be able to find answers." He smiles, stead fast, reassuring her, "I'll help, if you want me too." bumping his chest.

"I'd like that."

"For someone that refuses to be a hero, you sure are good at it." Elnyra teases.
