Chapter 1:
“Bolt Saga: Time Lapse”
The sky burned red as the ancient world crumbled. A thousand years ago, the nuclear apocalypse opened rifts in time and space.
Angels and demons crossed through, spreading chaos, and humanity was forced to rebuild itself into Four Kingdoms.
The Vegetal Kingdom was the strangest of them all. The wave of the explosion did not completely destroy it; instead, it trapped time.
The forests stayed green, the skies remained blue, but life never advanced again.
Villages remained bound to a medieval lifestyle: linen clothes, swords and armor, market fairs, and torches glowing in starry nights.
While other kingdoms marched forward with wars, science, or darkness, in Vegetal it seemed as if the centuries had stopped.
The Light Kingdom, however, blossomed along another path. There, science and faith walked side by side, and the people built cities lit by towers of crystal, defended by white walls that reflected the sun. It was considered the kingdom of hope, but it also bore the burden of being the most watched by its enemies.
It was in this kingdom, in the small village of Delight, that Kai was born.
At seventeen, he knew every narrow stone street, every church bell, every wall glowing with torches at night.
For him, routine was simple: training with his wooden sword, helping his father in the crystal fields, and dreaming of a future beyond the borders.
— One day, I’ll see the whole world… — he said, staring at the horizon, beyond the hills that surrounded Delight.
But that night, something changed.
The village bells tolled — a deep sound forgotten since the days of the last war.
The streets filled with hurried footsteps, torches lit one by one, and Kai rushed to the central square.
— What’s happening?! — he shouted, but no one answered.
On the horizon, a strange light cut across the skies.
It was not the usual glow of the stars, nor the reflection of the moon.
It was something different.
Something that did not belong to the Light Kingdom.
