The following class after lunch break. Here I am, sitting calmly, silently reading my favorite light novel. Hoho... A new taste isn't it? Well, no.
I also read light novels besides manga. To be honest, I read light novels because the new volume of the manga adaptation is still not out, yet.
You probably have guessed it, but I read the same series. The series is about a second year high school student getting struck by lightning, magically survived, and suddenly has the ability to see supernatural beings. With his newfound power, he fight all supernatural being who disturb people's life and—
Alright, that's it I guess. I don't want to yap too much about it.
Don't worry, I just don't know how to explain it without giving any spoilers. The truth is, I was just telling you the synopsis of the light novel, but in an incomplete version, hehe.
Ekhem... Anyways, why am I reading a light novel while the class is ongoing? It's because the teacher is absent (for some reason) and he just gave us a task from the package book.
The task was simple and I was able to complete it in half an hour. It might seem pretty quick, but I still lost to Akari who completed it in only below 20 minutes.
On the other hand, the class situation was... a little bit unexpected. It wasn't that chaotic. The class was rather silent, but of course there's still some students who are being silently loud with their chitchats.
Silently loud? What the heck is that...? Well, I don't know. It just appeared in my mind, so I thought it would be... cool to say it...
By the way, as I was casually flipping through the page, I suddenly heard a faint scratching sound coming from the chair in front.
"Hey, you read 'The Unwanted Miracle' too? That's awesome!" A boy, who sat in front of me, exclaimed silently.
"Huh? Oh... uh... yeah." I nodded rigidly.
"How many volumes have you read? Also, which one do you prefer? Its light novel, or its manga adaptation?" He asked while taking out something from his bag. Turns out, it was the manga adaptation of the series I read.
Oh... right, I faintly remember his name, family name it is. Kuze, wasn't it...?
"Ah... uh... I started the series from its light novel—"
"Woah! That's sick dude! Wasn't it hard to imagine the fight scene?"
"Well, uh... it's not, at least for me..."
"You've got a crazy brain, aren't you?" His face was shocked, not in any sarcastic way. "For me, I started it when people were talking about the series. And when I was searching for it, I was lucky because the manga adaptation of the first volume just released. So it's a go for me to read it."
So he started to read it when the first volume of the manga was released? Hm... If I remember correctly, that is when there's already 6 volumes installed to the light novel.
To be honest, I don't really care about where people started the series. The story is still the same after all, the only difference is that you can enjoy the scene better in its manga.
"It's a good series, isn't it? I remember being impatient for the next volume to be released," I said, a little excited.
"I know right? The randomness in the story only adds to the crazy comedy, despite it also having a romance genre too."
"Hahaha. Yeah that's right."
"By the way, what do you think about when the heroine also got the 'bless'? It was so unexpected that I jumped from my bed!" He then laughed.
Ahh-hahaha... So, you're saying that you also read its light novel? Because that arc is still not covered in the manga adaptation. I'm not blaming him, of course he would be curious about the continuation.
By the way, about the 'bless', I'm going to briefly explain it. The 'bless' is when a certain person got chosen by the gods to have that power. For example, it was lightning for the main character. Alright, that's it, I believe that's enough explanation for now.
Also, it feels so fun and exciting when people also like what you like, that I just realized how smooth I can be talking to him (even though this was the first time we talked, wait... that sounds oddly familiar).
As I'm about to get more excited talking about the series, suddenly, another classmate called him and asked him to come over. "Oi, Hikaru, can you come here for a sec?"
"Aye aye, right at it," he responded. "Alright, I'm off, let's continue this another time, 'kay?" He said to me, while waving his hand.
"Oh, okay, sure." I lightly nodded.
And with that, he's off to the other side of the classroom.
Now, I'm all alone again.
Well, I'm not complaining. It's good, because now I can continue to read the book. Alright, where's and what's the last page is about before...
Oh, here it is.
And out of nowhere...
"Hm, hmm hm hm hmm...." A humming sound, coming from next right to me. Of course, it was Akari, though I don't know why she's humming.
It was somehow making me look at her.
There she is, cheek resting on her palm, smiling at my direction.
"A-ah... Is there something?" I asked, both curious and confused.
"No-thing," she said playfully.
W-wha—?! What the heck...?
"Re-really? You seem like you're enjoying something..."
"It's because I am enjoying something." She smiled, saying that in such a teasing way.
"Can I know about it?" I asked. I feel like it's going to be the same as this morning...
"It's a secret~ I won't let you know," she said with a grin.
And before I could ask any further... The teacher of the next class has already come.
Why am I so unlucky, and lucky at the same time…?
