The promise of power

August 1

You won't believe what I found today! I think my long-cherished desire is finally gonna come true. After returning from college, I was exhausted. I threw my bag on the floor and lay down on my feather-soft bed, spreading all four limbs like a starfish. The dim red light made my room so dreamy. And the fan also had the perfect angular momentum for it to produce the comfiest air currents. It was hard to keep my eyes open. It felt like I was lying on Isabella's lap, while she played with my hair. I wish she were mine. I've not seen any girl more beautiful than her. The only thing on my mind was Isabella's smile, her blue eyes, her hair, and god knows what perfume she uses. It compels one to commit sins. 

I was getting lost in my stupid thoughts, and then ding! I heard my phone ring. I unlocked the screen only to see it's a notification from the subreddit: r/IwantSuperpowers.

I clicked it. Read what it's about.

It read like this:
"Do you want to be more than what the mundane can offer? Do you want unimaginable powers?

We have some good news to give you. Just click on this link."

Sounds sketchy, right? I thought so too. But this is the first time I've seen someone sound so confident!
I think it's different from other times. I can feel it in my heart..

[I know I said the same before I got scammed into buying a book on how to get superpowers. And that time when I purchased a magic potion from the monk in hopes of getting super strength. Though he looked like he smoked pot, I don't know why I ignored the signs.]

You might think I'm gonna get scammed again, but I feel it's different this time. I'm not sure how to express it, but it feels different.

I'm unsure who I'm trying to persuade here. Haha.. I guess I'm just rambling... cause I'm too tired. It's not like I have anyone to share my thoughts with except this diary.
Anyway, as I said this time, something good will surely happen.

I'm too tired today—I had a bunch of classes, so I'll save the post for later. Tomorrow I have only one class, so I can check the page with ease.

Right now it's 2:23 in the afternoon. I just returned from college. Let me freshen up and check the site. I'll update then.

[45 mins later]

Woah, woah, woah!
I have gone through the site. It didn't say much, you know. It was oddly plain. It is an organisation that helps people gain power in exchange for their money. And I needed to make a payment of $333, and I'll be able to have these powers. I don't know if they'll send me some secret potions or an injection with radioactive fluid. I wonder which one it'll be.

I feel excited and scared at the same time.

But they didn't take my address, though. I just had to do the payment. That's all. Oh, and after payment was successful, a screen popped up saying:

"Thank you for your purchase. Further information will be provided to you. Be ready for the initiation."

I found it odd. Being mysterious... are we?

I didn't think much of it. I shut my laptop down and lay on the bed. I have a lot of time today... gonna nap like I'm dead.

August 5

Today it's been 3 days after I bought the super powers—is it the power of invisibility, cause I feel none. No information was provided either.

Was I scammed then? I don't wanna be scammed... I already paid, though!

*Sobbing silently*

I had back-to-back 3 classes, each around 2 hrs. I returned home at 7:45.
I feel so tired... I don't even have the strength to cry.

I'm so unlucky. I'm gonna sleep. Only sleep can fix me.

Tomorrow I'll think about what I should be doing.
