Chapter 44:

Servant of the Demon Lord part 2

The Perfect Older Daughter Who Can Never Get Her Parents’ Recognition Is Reborn into Another World Vol.1

There are no restrictions in this battle, nor are there any cheating allegations or cringeworthy ways of fighting. I have to give it all.

I quickly advance to attack, flicking him with the sword to make sure I'm in the proper distance, and testing Aicrossus’ reaction time. I lunged at his right chest, and he stepped backwards, blocking the attack using the two knives towards the outside of his body. He followed his parry with a kick. However, in contact with the knives, I continue the attack, moving my blade around his wrist, directly to his left chest. He was in motion, kicking, so he had no time to react to the faint, but he managed to evade the attack to the chest just barely. I felt my blade, covered in magic, go through his battle aura and enter his left shoulder. Thud! I dragged him against a tree and kicked his guts as hard as I could.

“Ugh! F****** b****!” Aicrossus let his Dark magic run wild, throwing me backwards. “Dark Slashes!” He threw dark air magic at me. The slashes were multiple and wide, making it impossible for me to cover my whole body for protection. I can only cover my vital organs. This might still cut me in half, but Dad jumped forward, receiving the attack himself, saving my life.

“Dad!” he had a deep slash all across his abdomen and chest. He was bleeding profusely while I was trying to cover his wound with my jacket. The dark purple coat was soaked in blood.

“Ha ha ha ha! The weak must die. There is no reason to live if you can’t use magic.” In that moment, Saraqael started chanting.

“Heavenly beings, hear my prayer. Send your power from the Most High. Let your light descend and mend, on this soul, your grace extend. For the restoration that we seek, for the strong and for the weak. Bring forth life where spirits tire, quench the pain like burning fire. Grant true rest to mend what's broken, by your servant and for your glory. Heal!” A dust of light came from the sky, filling everything around us. The night was not as dark as it had been before. Dad's wounds started healing from the inside out, and the bleeding stopped. But that was not the most significant change. His body was flowing with magic everywhere.

“Aargh…”

“Dad, your magic.” As never before, I could see Dad’s magical aura. It gave me a feeling of warmth, cherish, and serenity.

“What is this feeling? Is this my magic overflowing my body?”

“Dad, you have to hold the magic in your body, or it is going to keep leaking.”

“I can’t, I don’t know how. I have never felt this much magic coming out of me. Step aside, kids.”

“What is going on? I no longer need any proof. You are the hero sent by the heavenly beings.” Aicrossus said, pointing at Sara. “I’m just going to kill you all!”

“Aaaah!”

“Aaaah! Fire!” Dad threw from his fist a laser beam of fire magic that burned everything on its way, hitting Aicrossus’ right leg, completely dismembering it.

“Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh! My leg!” Aicrossus was on the ground, crying with intense anguish.

“You are done for Aicrossus!” Dad was getting ready for a second beam when Aicrossus' dark aura kept on increasing.

“Aaaaaah! Lord Apollyon! Use this servant at your will!”

Aicrossus’ body started mutating. His flesh was like boiling and turning more and more dark. His body got bigger, ripping his clothes apart. He grew a new leg, and his wounds were all healed. His limbs got longer, his teeth got sharper, his eyes were white, and his skin was becoming scale-like, similar to a serpent.

The monster flew towards Dad, slashing Dad’s abdomen. Dad protected himself with an aura and held Aicrossus still, but the beast kicked him right in the chin from below, leaving him unconscious.

Out of nowhere, a dashing light tackled the monster, electrifying him and hurting him badly. I saw an opening, so I lowered my hips and lunged forward with all my strength. He parried with his claws, but I used the momentum to get closer, grab his right wrist, throwing him off balance and slamming him to the ground. Without letting his wrist go, I jump, grabbing his arm with my legs and pulling back as hard as I could. He was not ready for the armbar. I used all the strength I had left to pull as hard as I could.

“Aaaah!” I felt a crack. I pulled so hard that I dislocated his shoulder completely while Albus jumped forward, holding an adventurer's sword in his hands, thrusting his chest, impaling him to the ground. He was dead instantly.

My magic was completely depleted. We were all tired from the fight. I felt something warm in my face, and it was the small cervus we saw yesterday.

“Aww, the cute pudu! You saved my life. Thank you!”

“Pew! Pew!”

“Is it dead?” A voice from the shadows came.

“Mr. Damian? It is dead.” The Pudu hid behind me, pressing its head against my back.

“You all fought incredibly. I’m sorry we all kept hiding. We don’t have the strength to fight. All the adventurers are dead. Everyone in the back carts is dead, too. Only a woman was left alive. We are healing her wounds.”

“Okay. Please take care of Dad. His magic is overflowing his body.”

“Everyone, take Mr. Paulus to his wagon and tend to his wounds. Check if there is anyone alive. Let’s take guard duties and wait until sunrise. I already sent a messenger with an urgent message to the closest village to send a party here. We are lucky to be alive. By the gods.”

“For the gods,” everyone repeated after Mr. Damian.

I was too tired to stand. I just dropped to the ground and lost consciousness.

When I woke up, I was sleeping in a bed. Albus was sleeping next to me, kneeling against the bed. I stood up and covered him with a blanket. There were multiple beds, but no one was in the room.

We are in a hostel. I got out of the room and went down the stairs. I could hear the commotion. When I got to the main salon, it looked like the whole village was in this place, everyone listening to the person in the middle. He was a homo Sapiens, his body was lean, and his muscles were toned. He was tall, with black hair, hazel eyes, and brown skin. He looked like the main character of a hero movie.

“Princess, you are awake! Come!”

“Dad? What? Why?”

“Ha ha ha ha! It looks like I used so much magic that it burned out all the energy from my body. Ha ha ha ha! How do I look?” Dad posed, showing his abdominals and thighs.

“Eeww! No!” What happened to my Dad? Where is the strong and voluptuous body I love?

“Ha ha ha! Don’t worry, I’m back to normal, look.” He lit a fire that was as small as his pinky.

“What happened to Sara?”

“The hero left south to continue her journey." Then he looked at he crowd and said, "That’s what happened, people. Saraquael, the hero, used healing magic! And that helped us to win the fight. We are no heroes, he is! He can perform miracles out of this world.”

People were chatting in astonishment and perplexity about what Dad was telling them. This marked the beginning of the hero’s journey that people would later discuss. From everyone, the one who believed the most was Mr. Damian. He who knew our family and saw what happened could not do anything else but believe in the hero and his return.

“Everyone! If the gods sent the hero to walk among us, it means we need to get ready for the soon-to-come battle against the fallen ones. The princes of darkness are dwelling in the midst of us.” The room was silent.

This is a small village in the middle of nowhere, without a name. What do you think they could do? Are the kingdoms aware of what is happening? This small village has no way of changing the outcome of the battle. What can normal people like us do against fallen beings?
