Chapter 11:

Spirit Warrior

Infinite Sharing System: Cultivating With My Sister In The Apocalypse

The moment he pressed 'Yes,' his entire body began to tremble.

At first, it was subtle, but bit by bit, the sensation increased.

Then, he saw a faint purple glow appear around his veins, and that was when everything finally started.

"Kuhhh!" Xuan's eyes widened as his muscles began to tear.

His skin cracked slightly, revealing a tiny shell beneath that soon began to unravel.

Yet the feeling of his entire body being boiled from the inside out didn't subside in the slightest.

He slowly began to lose consciousness, but by biting his tongue, Xuan managed to stay awake.

The pain increased significantly, and once it seemed like he had reached the pinnacle, all the pain suddenly went away.

He had closed his eyes sometime during the tribulation, and now that he reopened them, a surprising sight awaited him.

In front of him was an extremely small crack in space.

It was torn open, and it revealed a starry nothingness beyond.

And when he focused on that crack, something unexpected happened.

<+6,677 | 13,346 / 1,000,000 Void Qi>
<+6,698 | 20,044 / 1,000,000 Void Qi>
<+6,732 | 26,776 / 1,000,000 Void Qi>
<+6,842 | 33,618 / 1,000,000 Void Qi>

He was actually gaining Void Qi.

It wasn't from killing any enemies, but from simply focusing on the crack.

And when he realized that, Xuan decided to activate his Seven Petal Bloom Qi Gathering Technique.

In an instant, a giant wave of Qi enveloped him, and the moment it did, he was met with much faster progress.

<+7,211 | 40,829 / 1,000,000 Void Qi>
<+7,557 | 48,386 / 1,000,000 Void Qi>
<+8,242 | 56,628 / 1,000,000 Void Qi>

Xuan let out a chuckle through a pained groan.

So when I cultivate next to a spatial crack using my Qi gathering technique... I'm able to gather Void Qi instead of regular Qi.

That observation alone made him continue to cultivate.

Yet with each passing minute, he felt his breaths becoming shallow, and the pressure surrounding him increase.

And that was when another pop-up appeared.

<You have passed the Spirit Warrior Tribulation - Qi Overload.>
<You may continue the tribulation for extra rewards.>
<Warning!>
<Every 2 minutes, the pressure will significantly increase!>

Xuan only partially glanced at the last part, and without wasting a single moment, began to put his all into absorbing as much Void Qi as he could.

.
.
.

40 minutes later...

<+55 | 664,111 / 1,000,000 Void Qi>
<+46 | 664,157 / 1,000,000 Void Qi>
<+6 | 664,163 / 1,000,000 Void Qi>

It's slowed down... Xuan thought, dazed.

In the very next moment, the crack suddenly shrank, disappearing completely.

He let out a sigh and stopped the cultivation technique.

Xuan fell backward and gently landed on the bed.

He held his forehead, groaning in pain.

Fucking 40 minutes... why did I do it for so long...?

The nausea he felt was way too suffocating, and even after he canceled his cultivation technique and the void crack disappeared, his body remained limp.

But even so, he decided to finally check out his boons.

<Xiao Yuelan - Ninth Level Spirit Apprentice>

Xuan tilted his head. She's still not done? Huh... I guess 100 Spirit Warrior monsters is a bit much. It did take us an hour to kill 50 each.

With that in mind, he focused on getting his body working again.

And within the hour, he was finally fine and able to move.

That was when a message finally arrived from his sister.

<Xiao Yuelan: I'm finally done... I had to look around the entire city to find some more Spirit Warrior monsters, and I think I realized why there aren't that many.>

He raised a brow.

<Xiao Xuan: Why?>

A moment later, she replied.

<Xiao Yuelan: The monsters are just like us. Over time they get stronger. I don't think they cultivate, so there's probably something else going on. But even after searching for so long, the highest I've found was a Fourth Level Spirit Warrior monster.>

He let out a sigh.

<Xiao Xuan: So what you're saying is we should enter cultivation until stronger monsters show up. Is that it?>

She didn't reply, but he knew that was exactly what she meant.

Xuan turned his head to the side and thought of something.

Immediately, the interface he was looking for appeared.

<Next Ascension in: 172 Days>

I might be able to reach the next realm by the end of this... maybe.

<Xiao Xuan: Where do you want to cultivate? Our home, or some random house?>

He waited for her to reply, when all of a sudden, he heard a knock on his door.

Xuan turned toward it, alert.

But when he took a step closer, he felt a familiar presence on the other side, and when he opened the door, he was greeted with Yuelan's cheeky smile.

"Heya. I can do my tribulation now," Yuelan said. "But for that, I need to cultivate under the moonlight."

Xuan's eyes narrowed. "...So you want to cultivate on the roof?"

"Nope~" Yuelan turned around. "Follow me, I found a spot."

With that, she dashed away at an impressive speed.

But even then, he easily caught up to her.

They ran through the city until eventually, they reached the outskirts.

Yet Yuelan didn't stop as she ran toward a mountain in the distance.

When they finally arrived at the base of a mountain, they saw a giant boulder.

Yuelan nodded at him, then approached the boulder and moved it aside.

Immediately, a giant cave appeared in front of them, and in the very center was a beautiful waterfall.

And better yet, a single ray of light that shone down, which meant that once it was nighttime, the sunlight would be replaced with moonlight.

Xuan walked inside and saw two comfy mattresses and even a few snacks by the side.

"Big brother, I prepared everything earlier, so you don't have to worry," Yuelan said as she took a pillow and approached the slab where the sunlight shone the brightest.

"I'm going to begin the tribulation... don't interrupt me unless it's—"

He suddenly placed a hand on her head, sending a few skills over.

<You have shared your skills!>
<Xiao Yuelan has received: Seven Petal Bloom Qi Gathering Technique (Upgrade)>

"Oh? Thanks... I'll give you something nice too after I'm done," Yuelan replied and closed her eyes.

As for Xuan, he approached his comfortable mattress and with a hum, he began cultivating.
