Chapter 13:
Infinite Sharing System: Cultivating With My Sister In The Apocalypse
The man cleared his throat.
"Spirit weapons are weapons that have been infused with spiritual energy, either through special materials, rare forging techniques, or by absorbing enough Qi over time."
He pulled out his sword.
"This right here is a Spirit Sword. When I channel Qi through it, it amplifies the force of my strikes, cuts through monsters like butter, and sometimes even activates passive effects depending on the weapon's grade."
"So it's like a slightly sharper normal sword... but with skills?" Xuan asked.
The man nodded, sheathing his sword.
"That's the gist of it. It's always better to have one than not..." he trailed off. "But seriously... you should get out."
A faint smile appeared on Xuan's face.
"No thanks."
So I don't necessarily need a weapon like that, but having one would be beneficial... hmm... Xuan pondered. I'll have to get a sword for Yuelan. As for myself... I doubt I'll find comfortable gloves that increase my power.
That was when the ground shook again, and out of nowhere, a black drake descended.
It was the size of a small shop, yet its scales were a testament to its durability.
Even so...
"Let's kill that thing before the others get here!"
"YEAAAAH!"
The party of friends ran in toward the drake, and Xuan simply observed from the backlines.
The drake mainly used its tail when in close quarters, and when attacking faraway enemies, it spewed black flames.
It was a simple all-rounder monster, but even then, its strength was formidable.
It swung its tail, shattering the shield of one of the party members.
Before the rest could step in to help, the drake finished him off with a fire breath, turning him to ash.
"Jin! No!"
The remaining party members became emotional and ran in to kill the drake.
Because of their irrational thinking, they too suffered the same fate.
After less than a minute, the only person who remained was Xuan, who stood with his hands in his pockets.
Well, that's one way of getting free stuff.
The moment that thought fell, the drake shot a fire breath straight at him.
Yet Xuan didn't panic in the slightest as he activated Swift Step, appearing right in front of the drake.
And now, it was time to finally test out the skill he was dying to try.
Basic Void Fist.
He activated the skill. Immediately, faint purple Qi began to gather around his fists, then settled down calmly.
But Xuan didn't waste this calmness as he brought his fist straight to the drake's chest.
He was expecting some kind of resistance, and yet, his fist tore through its durable scales, pierced flesh, and approached its heart.
Even Xuan was surprised, yet the drake was not for show.
As his fist was about to reach its heart, the drake flapped its wings, sending Xuan flying back.
He skidded across the ground, then steadied himself, glancing back at the drake, which was now bleeding from the gaping hole in its chest.
"Hah... I guess these events are not for me..." Xuan mumbled.
His Basic Void Fist could penetrate most defenses, and it seemed like this monster, which looked overpowered, was nothing special.
All of a sudden, his senses picked up distant footsteps, causing his brows to furrow.
Oh... I can't let the others get such boons.
With that thought in mind, he Swift Stepped in front of the drake.
Almost as if it was waiting for him, the drake swung its tail at him.
The strike was incredibly fast, but once the tail reached his body, Xuan simply gritted his teeth and caught it.
Because of the minor physical damage resistance from his physique and his high strength, he only suffered some bruises.
That was when he exhaled and flung the drake by its tail into the ground again and again, chipping away at its scales and dazing it.
When it seemed like he had dazed it enough, Xuan tossed the drake into the air and leaped up after it.
It tried flapping its wings to stop him, but it was too late as his Void Qi-infused fist drove straight through its heart, killing the monster in an instant.

First form? So if I gather more, I could get a better skill? Neat, Xuan thought as he quickly ripped a couple dozen scales off the drake and tossed them onto the ground.
He ran up to the dead men from earlier and grabbed their loot as well as a bag one of them had.
Xuan stuffed whatever he could inside the bag, then ran up to the scales he had ripped off and did the same.
As a final fuck you to the people who were approaching, he grabbed the drake by its tail and began running to the outskirts again.

A few moments later...
"Hah?" Zhi gasped. "T-The event... Our group members too..."
"Fuck!" Zhou slammed his greatsword into the ground. "I knew leaving it up to those idiots was a bad idea! I told you, Zhi!"
"Calm down..." Zhi said coldly. "The young master will put the blame on all of us regardless of what you say now... we just need to retrieve something..."
The two men looked around, and so did the rest of the group until eventually...
"Commander Zhi! I found something!" one of the porters yelled.
Zhi's eyes sparkled as he ran to the porter, and when he arrived, he was met with an unbelievable sight.
There were a couple of black drake scales on the ground, arranged in a crude yet unmistakable shape.
Zhi's eye twitched.
"...Is that a middle finger?"
"Um... yes, sir," the porter affirmed, scratching his cheek. "I believe whoever cleared the event... left this behind to mock us."
Zhi's hands trembled in anger, but he held himself back.
"Store those scales. That's the only thing we can bring back to the young master."
He calmly turned toward his scouting unit.
"Look for blood. Try to track down the one who did this. Leave no stone unturned."
"Yes, Commander Zhi!" the scouting unit shouted in unison and dispersed, each inspecting a perimeter.
As for Zhi, he stared at the sky, and then the charred bodies of his men.
"You will not get away with this..."
