The pressure that was enveloping them increased further, to the point where Xuan's palms began to sweat.

This guy... I'm sure he was just a Spirit Warrior like us, but did he go beyond that? Xuan thought.

At Spirit Apprentice, his body was enhanced, and he could use basic Qi techniques.

At Spirit Warrior, he was able to control his Qi with slightly more precision, and his body was further enhanced.

But beyond that? He was not sure. He could only imagine what the changes were.

Yet it didn't take long to figure out.

Elder Chun extended his palm, causing an invisible pulse of Demonic Qi to leave it.

In the next instant, Xuan felt his guts twist, almost like they were being rearranged.

He focused on the Void Qi that had enveloped his fists. He knew there had to be a source, so he looked deeper.

Not even a second later, he found a swirling mass of Qi at the very bottom of his abdomen. It was none other than the Dantian.

Xuan took a deep breath and pinpointed the Void Qi, which was surprisingly very deep inside his Dantian. Even so, he drew the Void Qi out and enveloped his whole body.

Immediately, a pop-up appeared in front of his face.

The pressure he was feeling a moment ago vanished, and what replaced it was a soothing feeling.

He turned to Yuelan, ready to instruct her to do the same. However, it seemed like she had figured it out as well.

<Xiao Yuelan: Big brother, I want to try something.>

He tilted his head, puzzled. <Xiao Xuan: Now...?>

She met his gaze, then nodded. <Xiao Yuelan: I'm going to use my Sword Slash skill, and I want you to use your Void Fist skill.>

Although he wasn't sure what she was getting at, he decided to go along.

Elder Chun had already settled down, all his wounds healed. With a single tap on the ground, he vanished from sight.

Xuan wasn't even able to react as an attack hit him square in the chest, sending him flying straight into one of the tents tens of meters away.

He caught himself mid-air and glanced back. Yuelan was trading blows with Elder Chun, but she was clearly struggling.

Therefore, Xuan ran back with a Swift Step and kicked Elder Chun away.

It felt like he was hitting a boulder, but even a big boulder such as Elder Chun managed to move a single meter back.

And that was enough.

Xuan gathered Void Qi into his fists, and at the same time, Yuelan gathered her Qi into her sword.

Then, in unison, the two cast their skills, and to everyone's surprise...

Xuan's eyes widened, but before he could, a giant purple crescent slash appeared in front of them.

Because Elder Chun was so close, he had no time to react, only slightly moving his body out of the way.

But even then, he was practically split into two as the entire left side of his body was gone. He stared at them with surprise, then fell backward, splattering on the ground.

Yet he wasn't dead just yet.

"Pfft..." Elder Chun held back a laugh, choking on his blood. "Just what kind of monsters are you two?"

"The pot calling the kettle black, is it?" Xuan rolled his eyes. "You're here dying and coming back to life."

Elder Chun scoffed. "You two should start counting your days. Once the three-eyed being catches wind of you two, it'll be over."

<Xiao Yuelan: Definitely holding out on us.>

<Xiao Xuan: 100%.>

"But I do have some parting words," Elder Chun added, his smile twisting. "When the gates to the other worlds open, this world will be overrun by..."

He trailed off, his eyes blurring.

Xuan's brows twitched as he crouched down and tapped him on the cheek.

"Hey! Hey, don't do that shit. Wake up, finish bestowing your words of wisdom, you old coot!"

But no matter how much he tried shaking the old man awake, he was gone.

10,000 Void Qi? I thought it increases by 10 every realm. Is it because this guy was a bit different...? Xuan thought, then stood up and wiped his blood off on Yuelan's shirt.

"Well, that was a bit eventful. Thankfully we came here, right?"

Yuelan's brows twitched. "Do that again and you're going to lose your fingers."

"...Really?"

"No. Don't do it again," Yuelan replied, rolling her eyes.

Yet there was a slight smile on her face. "But yes, this was pretty fun. There are only two weeks left until the world ascension happens. I'm kind of nervous after hearing what this old coot had to say."

"When the gates to the other worlds open? That part?" Xuan asked. "You think there's going to be dungeons or something?"

Obviously, he was referring to the dungeons that Yuelan used to occasionally talk about. Every time she skipped meals, he could hear her cussing out her entire team, calling them slurs of every kind. Some slurs Xuan had never even heard of in his entire life before until Yuelan screamed them throughout the entire apartment complex.

But she learned to shut up after the first two evictions.

"Dungeons..." Yuelan mumbled, her smile widening. "I see... big brother, let's cultivate until the ascension comes, okay?"

Xuan sighed. "Sure. But..."

He turned toward the crowd of people that had gathered.

"I think we need to deal with them first."
