Chapter 10:
Divine Consummation
“Come on, I’ll only take a little from right here.” Ydunn appealed, close and adamant. She slickly moved my blue collar away to make space. The side of my neck was gently caressed with well-trained precision. Right where my jugular vein was.
“I know once you start, you are not going to choose to stop. You and your selfish personality.” I complained. “Honestly, you know what? I have another god I can meet. The trickster god!” I needed to get stronger to beat the war god. I wouldn’t let Asa’s expectations in me be misplaced. “Why don’t you get off of me! I have things to do!”
“No, I won’t. I know what and who you are.” She grinned sinisterly.
“Huh?” I said.
Did she know that I was trying to steal spiritual energy from her or the other gods? If she knew that, it would complicate things.
“I can feel you. I’m not in the dark as you think.” She propped up her well-built legs on my stomach again.
Dammit. Dammit all. Was there a way to regain control of my situation? I didn’t know. I’ve never been this screwed in my life. I wanted to shield my face in my hands. How could she have sensed that something was so amiss?
Ah! I could contact Asa. Telepathy was made for this! It was like an oracle for quiet assistance.
The telepathic line I projected to her, containing a short summary of my problems, let through a couple of words, then was rebuked by her signature mental membrane. No connection sustained.
Then her words were shot into my head like bullets using a one-way telepathic return line. [“You followed your man’s intuition into whatever situation you are in, so carve a way out.”] She said.
This isn’t the time for a joke! I wanted to respond.
Ugh. I really shouldn’t have told Asa that I was going to the goddess of love. She was not being very cooperative. I quietly cursed Asa’s actions and mine alike.
“Your body as a whole is incredibly stiff,” She implied in pretend obliviousness. “Just like a coiled spring. Is something else happening? I don’t know much about kinetic energy or physics. Could you show me?”
Evidently, to her, I struggled to form words.
“You, my beloved, are a no-good hussy. I bet you have feelings for every girl you meet. If you had a dear partner, what would they say and think?” She teased.
“That’s... this is all slander! This whole thing is messed up and misconstrued.” I found myself not admitting to anything.
She appeared to take my words in amusement. “Devote to me your heart!”
I shook my head.
“Devote to me your blood!” Ydunn said.
“What do I get in return?” I asked.
“My first level of emblem,” she said.
That…was really not much, I would guess. I would try and be greedy. “I’ll do it if you answer my questions.” We needed information on the other gods to plan and defeat them.
“Will do,” She replied instantly.
This was a classic underbid. Followed by an instant fold from Ydunn, and this dreadfully reminded me of times I’ve overpaid for orders on the job.
“Take less than you desire. One second of feeding only.” I clarified in haste.
“That wasn’t part of your deal,” she said. “Be more certain with your terms, or a lawyer could take advantage of you.”
“Between us, you are the real hussy!” I seethed, trying to shake my way out physically and away from this faulty deal. “How do you have the nerve to call me one? Not to mention, you are the definition of a shady saleswoma-” I heard her cat-like movements too late.
Nyahh. Sensual, airy breath blanketed me softly. Then came the barely perceivable sounds of salivation and a crack of the jaw.
Clench. Two pinchers and a white toothy battalion. A pulsating, living, fluid stream gushed from my veins to neck to her mouth for more heartbeats than I was comfortable. My throat constricted as though it had to sustain my breath from bursting like a balloon.
It was warm. So warm. And narcissistically messy.
When she removed her instrument, I reaffirmed her area of attack. There was a well-defined bite mark carved in, and droplets of leftover blood. I stared at it over my hand and felt sickened. Yeah, this was not for me. I shivered. How ungratifying.
“A sweet, tasty serving. Many thanks.” She said cleaning her lips with her finger and tongue.
“Questions first, then consummation, I said. “Why are you choosing to live nude? Can’t gods make clothing at will?”
"That's what your brain thinks about?" She roared. “You are a liar and a terrible one at that, hussy.”
I was going to make a rebuttal, but I shut myself up. I was on a cold streak with my words, unlike one I have ever seen.
“I choose to live like this as a statement of power and domination over my enemies,” Ydunn said. “They couldn’t be me even if they wanted to. It is remarkably obvious that bareness is the most honest human form. What’s so wrong about beauty and perfection?
“I also know you lust for it, hussy beloved, she insisted. “You thirst for it as much as some do for blood. I know you’ve been looking at it despite your crude efforts. Right, here.”
She beckoned to her midsection. “Touch it. Place your hands,” she dared.
I was tempted by her talents and unnatural allure. I understood what they meant when they told me human greed knew no bounds.
My stoic part of my brain beseeched me to take seriously how she held me tightly in the palm of her hands. I was a puppet dancing a string-led show in the summer evening for a crowd. That side of the brain wanted a rebuttal and a tactical retreat.
Ignorant that one. Why would I even try to run from this? I don’t care about that logical, sappy stuff. She took my blood; this was repayment, you bloodsucker.
Both of us seated on the floor, I reached out and caressed her flawless core with both hands. Awesome. I started inward and worked outward till I plainly held her by the hips.
The whole time, she overlooked my body with a melty, devoted smile.
Uhh. I realized that this was undeniably an obscene position and view. This wouldn’t be a sensible position to be caught in, huh.
A while ago, I would have been too bashful to ever approach anything like this. I either experienced pronounced growth as a person or was losing my sanity.
Still, I retracted my hands as if they had touched fire. She peered curiously.
“Is sucking my blood or eating my heart related to how you gain spirit energy?” I asked.
“No, I just like eating delicacies,” she said.
I guessed that tracked.
“New question. What is the purpose of your talisman?” I implored. The strange, wooden, amorphous talisman of endless human forms cast into one body was noticeable at an intimate distance.
“It is tied to my consummation and powers. It is my material treasure if you will.” She explained.
So the talisman was some form of love magic, I would assume.
Should I ask if she knows anything about my siblings? If they were alive, would they want me to be looking for them? I thought.
“Enough,” she expressed. “Consummate with me, I’m growing restless, waiting forever and answering meager questions. Demonstrate your manhood, human.”
“Tell me the power I’ll receive, first.” I insisted.
“The [Whispers of Delirium]. They are strongest on unprotected minds, and they cause disorientation, panic, mental undoing, and insanity, depending on the length and strength of the spell, which is tied to the emblem level. It is a voice modification, so it can be sneaked into your words.” She said.
Yeah, that sounded like her gravity. “Are you using that magic on me? I felt inordinately willing to do things I wouldn’t have otherwise.” I pressed.
“It is interlaced with my words, beloved,” she said. “It is certainly intertwined with my godhood. As a medium, though, you have some natural mind protection. About that. You’ve consummated with some others. How intriguing and sorrowful. Who? Who took your first time from me?”
“Wait. Wait, how can you even be sure?” I said.
Wait. Now she definitely knew. I shook my head. I should have started with confusion in response to the obscure word, medium or consummation. I’d be more careful in the future.
“You would be insane and undone by now otherwise. A mindless or nonsense muttering husk,” she said.
I would need to thank Asa for that. “Anyhow, I don’t need to explain who I’ve consummated with, the same way you don’t have to.” I insisted.
“This situation is infuriatingly not equivalent for gods and humans, and you know it, but I have better things to do,” she countered. “Like doing you. Let’s see how compatible we are. Today, we are going to see if consummation will make life or take life.”
