Chapter 3:

First Official

How to Build a Kingdom

".. Never mind, I'll just get to know the system myself." I sighed in disbelief.

Earlier, Lefillia said something about forgetting to turn this clump of gold into a digital form. I assume I can turn this into KP in one way or another.

As I picked up the gold off the ground, a notification bell rang and a screen popped out in front of me.

*ding!*

------------------------------

Would you like to convert this object into KP?

(YES) (NO)

Value: 1000

------------------------------

"Oh~! It seems to be simpler than I thought."

I tapped the (YES) confirmation button.

After I did so, the gold I was holding slowly disappeared with digital particles surrounding, or even possibly consuming it.

"Status!"

------------------------------

"Now, I also heard her mention something along the lines of an official."

Shortly after I said that, a screen popped up again.

*ding!*

------------------------------

KP Summon Banners: [FIRST TIME OFFER]

5x Summon | (Guaranteed at least one A or above) >> 500 KP

10x Summon | (Guaranteed at least one S or above) >> 1000 KP

1x Summon | (Guaranteed SS or above) >> 1000 KP

------------------------------

".. A Gacha Pull huh? So it basically comes down to luck, although I get to choose if it'll be either quantity over quality, or quality over quantity. To be honest, I don't really know how big of a gap does the SS have when compared to an S but.. let's not compromise on the quality for now."

I chose the 1x Summon in exchange for all of my KP. I believe it's better to go all out rather than half-assing it.

After I tapped the confirmation button, a magic circle suddenly appeared on the ground, then it produced a blinding, golden light which causes me to cover my eyes with my arm.

When the light started to begin dimming, I put down my arm that covers my eyes. Upon doing so, I saw a girl lying on the ground at the location of where the magic circle was supposed to be.

"Hm?" The girl utters, while slowly opening her eyes.

As she slowly tries to stand up, I was captivated by her silver hair and her blood-red eyes. She had an appearance similar to that of a vampire from my memories. Her body proportions are all perfect in my strike zone, which were highlighted by the piece of rag that she's wearing. Looks like she is truly worthy of the SS rank.

"This is.." She looks around the room.

After a few moments, she sighs and finally looks at me.

"Um.. Hi?" I smiled at her in hopes of having a good image in her first impression of me.

She starts to walk towards me.

When she was about a meter away from me, she kneels down with her right knee and fist touching the floor, like a knight pledging his loyalty for his lord.

I inadvertently glanced at her huge chest. It was inevitable, given her current posture as well as her clothes.

"Who are you?" I tried to ask her without getting flustered while my eyes are still fixated on her chest.

"I am Roschella from the vampire clan. I swear my full allegiance to the Demon King." She introduces herself with a short sentence in a cold voice.

"What? Demon King? You mean me?"

"Yes. It was agreed upon in the contract."

"What contract?"

"..." She looked a bit unwilling to answer.

"Is it something that can't be said? I won't force you if it is."

".. I dare not hide things from your Majesty. A few years ago, I.. I was in a precarious situation. In order to do escape from that, I signed a demon contract. The contract was for it to help me get out of that dire situation, but in exchange, I will be surrendering my whole self to the Demon King that summons me at some point in the future, which seems to be now."

"I see.." I was able to come to terms with the fact that I'm a demon like it was the most natural thing in the world, despite how my memories indicate that I was a human in my previous life.

"But isn't that quite an unfavorable contract for you?"

"I was fully aware how disadvantageous the contract was for me, however, it was the only method that I have left at that point. If only I was stronger back then, I wouldn't have to resort to that method." She grinds her teeth while trembling with what seems to be anger.

"Hmm.. Were you able to at least make full use of the contract after you got out in the situation you were in?" I asked out of curiosity.

"Although I wasn't able to kill all of those who put me in that situation, there was only one left so I guess that was enough."

So she wanted to take revenge against those people.

"It's a shame that you weren't able to hunt the last one but.. as long as you help me here, when an appropriate time comes, I'll let you complete your vengeance and even help you if it's within my capabilities."

I said that to her because I don't want someone who was forced to swear loyalty, I want them to be more than willing to submit themselves to me. That way, I will have a good relationship with them, as well as more efficiency to what I'll be needing them for.

"..." She looked at me and was left speechless.

"Thank you, your Majesty. I will do my best to be of use to you." Once again, she bows her head.

Maybe it was just my imagination, but this time, I heard her say that with a more amicable tone.
