Chapter 1:
Plasma's Gift
Narrator: Just another normal day, Plasma is busy training at 10pm. He likes to train late at night so that he can spend the entire day with his brother. However, Plasma hears glass shattering and a loud scream coming from his brother's room.
Plasma: What the hell was that? Cludro are you ok?
Narrator: As Plasma heads up the stairs towards Cludro's room, he realizes that he is just wasting his time. He knew he heard glass shattering, so Plasma made a bold assumption that the kidnapper already fled the scene along with his brother.
Plasma: Heh, looks like I was right. The idiot was careless to leave his footprints in the mud. But, he went straight into the Dralkion forest. My dad always told me to never go there due to its strange abnormalities and hostile creatures at every turn. However, given that my brother was kidnapped, I’m not left with much of a choice.
Narrator: Plasma runs straight into the eerie forest, following the tracks left on the ground by the kidnapper. Plasma seemingly caught up to the kidnapper, since he saw campfire smoke a little northeast from where he is now.
Plasma: Looks like I found where you were hiding out. Hopefully, Cludro is with that person too.
Narrator: As Plasma approaches the campsite, the stranger immediately notices his presence.
Kidnapper: Hey! You there! What business do you have here?
Plasma: What business do I have here??? What the hell are you doing taking my brother jackass! I notice that he isn’t here right now, you better tell me where you took him or I’ll beat that information out of you.
Plasmas mind: *How the hell is Cludro not here? I was running as fast as I could and made sure not to lose the kidnapper, yet they already have a campfire going and likely put my brother in some other location. I don’t understand what’s going on here and I need answers.*
Strangers mind: *Shit! I was given orders to bring back HIS oldest son to my boss. Considering how he looks, he’s likely the oldest, meaning I messed up. Luckily, he showed up right in front of me. Hopefully my boss will forgive me if I bring the eldest son back to him later than expected.*
Stranger: I’m going to assume that you’re the brats older brother? My name is Zack, and I’ve been given orders to take you into custody.
Plasma: The name’s Plasma, and take me into custody? I thought your mission was to take my brother.
Zack: (Sweat rolls down his face). I may or may not have kidnapped the wrong target, but it doesn’t matter since I’m going to knock you out anyway.
Plasma: Oh really? I’d like to see you try. (Both his arms start to unsheathe metal, wrapping around his arms and hands, almost like he has robot arms. The design isn’t just metal and looks futuristic).
Zack: Well, well, well. I wasn’t informed you had a gift. But no matter, for I have one as well, and I’ll be sure to show you how superior mine is to yours.
Narrator: Without a second thought, and faster than Plasma could process. Zack lunged at him, punching him square in the gut, then kicking him into a tree.
Plasma (Grunting in pain): What the hell! How did you strike me so fast? I couldn’t even see you running up to me except the part where you landed contact on my body.
Zack: Looks like someone is a little SLOW on the uptake, huh? My gift is speed, which is exactly how I was able to attack you without you noticing.
Plasmas mind: *His gift is speed, interesting. No wonder why it took so long to catch up to him. No wonder why he had a campfire set, and Cludro is nowhere in sight. He’s fast enough to take Cludro to wherever he was supposed to be, run all the way back, and even set up a campfire before I caught up to him*
Plasma (Starting to get nervous): I have a feeling you wanted to fight, why else would you deliberately come back to this forest, knowing I was on your tail?
Zack: I don’t mind fighting, I tend to enjoy a good and honorable brawl. However, my main reason is realizing my mistake and wanting to correct it. I knew you would be on my tail and just had to wait for you to grab the bait.
Narrator: Plasma lunges at Zack only for him to dodge it easily.
Zack: Idiot! You’ll never be able to catch up to my speed!
Narrator: Zack sprints towards Plasma to give him a punch right in his face. However, Plasma was able to block the attack.
Zack: What the hell! How did you see me?
Plasma: Seriously? It doesn’t matter how fast you are, if your attacks are monotonous and predictable, then there’s no point. I think it’s time I pay you back for that first blow.
Narrator: Plasma sweeps Zack off his feet, knowing he can’t dodge in midair, then proceeds to kick Zack straight into a tree.
Zacks mind: *Dammit! If I want to win this fight, I’ll have to use more unique approaches to catch him off guard*
Narrator: Zack bolts towards a tree, lands his feet on the tree, and propels himself towards Plasma.
Plasmas mind: *Instead of simply dodging his attack, I’ll create a cloud of smoke. Hopefully, this disorients him and allows me to launch a sneak attack.*
Zack: I’ve got you this time!
Narrator: As soon as Zack is about to make contact, Plasma throws a ball of energy right where he is standing, which propels him into the air, and creates a cloud of smoke on the ground where he was.
Zack's mind (Coughing profusely): *What the?! He can create spheres of energy by using his soul and his robotic gift. This fight may prove to be more difficult than I initially thought.*
Narrator: As Plasma lands he slides on the ground with his feet and one of his arms radiating a large soul signature towards where Zack is in the smoke.
Plasma: (System tells him Zack's location within the smoke) I’ve got you now! Let’s see you bounce back after this attack! (Plasma launches the beam towards Zack).
Narrator: With little time passing between Zack and Plasmas attack, Zack wasn’t able to escape the cloud of smoke in time. Therefore, he is unable to tell where Plasma is attacking, and is hit dead on. The beam sent Zack straight into a large rock.
Zack's mind: *Augh! I wasn’t expecting a beam to come out of his hand. Is it possible this is his special soul skill? No, what am I thinking? Only experienced fighters who understand the capabilities of their gift to a tea could use such an ability. These fighters can only manifest one special soul skill, but usually it’s potent enough to where they don’t need to use any other attacks. Besides, it is necessary to announce a special soul skill in order for it to take effect, and since he didn’t say anything, then it mustn't be it. But to be able to launch beams out of his hand without the use of a special soul skill is absurd. Perhaps his gift is a robot. I’m not sure, but I have to play this much more carefully if I intend on winning.*
Plasma: How’d you like that? There’s more where that came from if you haven’t had enough.
Zack: (Scoffs) I’ll admit, you did surprise me there. But I wouldn’t get cocky if I were you.
Narrator: Zack starts zooming in a wide circle, with Plasma in the center.
Zack's mind: *As long as I keep building up speed, my next attacks will be too powerful for him to handle. Okay, this is good. I can’t take too much time or he’ll try to stop what I’m doing.*
Zack: Let’s see you dodge this!
Narrator: Zack, using up the speed he built up running in circles, proceeds to kick several trees out of the ground into Plasma's direction.
Plasma: What the? I wasn’t expecting such strength from a speedster. But that won’t work on me!
Narrator: Plasma successfully dodged the barrage of trees, according to Zack's plan. As soon as Plasma dodges the last tree, Zack appears right behind him.
Zack: Looks like you fell for it! And I’ll make sure that you’ll pay for that sneak attack.
Plasmas mind: *This isn’t good. With his speed and his proximity to me right now, I don’t have time to activate my foot thrusters to get out of his attack. The best I can do now is to think of a way to counterattack afterwards.*
Narrator: Zack proceeds to roundhouse kick Plasma in the face, sending into a pond not too far away.
Zack's mind: *I don’t care if he has a robot gift, that attack was likely to put him out of commission.*
Narrator: Just as Zack thinks that to himself, he sees Plasma emerge from the pond, with his body trembling.
Zack's mind: *Damn, just how tough is this kid? Even if he isn’t knocked out yet, his energy is definitely starting to wear out. All I have to do is make sure he doesn’t deliver any major blows on me, and he’ll end up exhausting himself first.*
Narrator: Just as Zack finishes his train of thought. Plasma springs up into the air. He remains stationary in the air, pulling his shoulder back and forth in a circle like motion. Strangely, his arm keeps getting bigger the more he coils his arm.
Plasma: Listen Zack! Let’s end this right now!
Zack: I’m right here with you!
Narrator: Zack begins picking up speed, readying himself to launch into Plasma. Plasma, who is now finished coiling his shoulder, braces himself. Plasma whose arm is larger than most of the trees surrounding them, sends down his fist to punch Zack straight into the ground.
Plasma: We’re going to finish this!
Zack: In
Plasma: one
Zack and Plasma: PUNCH!
Narrator: Zack jumps at high speeds in order to collide with the giant fist. He stretches his arm, clenches his fist, and collides with Plasma. Just as that happened, a huge shockwave sent most of the neighboring animals flying, with the trees having their roots hold on for dear life. A huge flash of light, and then, nothing. Zack's unconscious body falls from the sky, with a smile on his face, the fist pushing him, fully submerging him underground. Plasma has won.
