Chapter 7:
Reincarnated as a mana delivery guy
Amos tightened the grip on his axe.
“So the brat is still alive, huh?”
The room filled with murmurs.
“Yes! And on top of that, he’s in excellent health!” Ashton rejoiced, spinning on his heels.
Ilyade sighed just as Amos threw him a sharp look.
“I still say we should execute him,” Amos declared, rising to his feet. His towering frame passed close to Lady Rose—the difference in height was striking. Yet the young woman showed no fear. On the contrary, she held his gaze firmly, even if she had to tilt her head back to do so.
“Sooner or later, he’ll bring disaster,” Amos muttered as he strode away.

Ryo wandered through the garden accompanied by one of the maids. She had long brown hair and dark eyes.
Yep. This really is an isekai. Every woman here is beautiful.
It had already been a week since he’d been living with the Sunwhispers. He ate well, slept soundly, and shared the brothers’ daily lives.
“Sir Ryo, it’s almost time for me to help with the midday meal. I need to return inside.”
“You can go ahead… uh, what was your name again?”
“Andrea,” she replied with a smile.
“I’ll stay here a little longer, Andrea. Don’t worry about me.”
“I’d like to, but unfortunately, I can’t leave you alone.”
“Let me guess. This is Elowen’s idea, isn’t it?”
Her cheeks flushed. Bingo.
“He won’t find out. It’ll be our little secret,” he said with a wink. Her blush deepened twice over.
She hesitated but eventually left after giving a graceful bow.
He continued his stroll. The garden stretched endlessly.
---
The moment he stepped back inside the manor, a blade grazed his throat. Andrea stood behind the owner, her face twisted in apology.
“Who the hell do you think you are?!” Elowen roared, pressing his blade closer. “You dismissed a maid I specifically ordered to keep an eye on you?!”
“If my monster had awakened near her, she would’ve been in danger. You know that’s true, don’t you?”
Elowen lowered his blade. The rosy-haired boy exhaled in relief. Strangely, his monster hadn’t stirred at all. Maybe it was already getting used to the constant threats?
---
“I’m back!!! And I brought some… friends!”
The manor hall was in utter disarray. Andrea and her fellow maids scrambled to repair the damage.
“Welcome home, Lady Rose! Oh—you’ve brought guests. A good evening to you, and welcome to Sunwhisper Manor.”
Mona and Stellar exchanged a knowing look before stepping forward.
The dining hall of the Sunwhisper manor was wide enough to host a banquet, though tonight only a single long table was set. Ryo sat between Elowen and Lady Rose, while Mona and Stellar took their seats across from them, both looking completely at ease despite the atmosphere.
Mona leaned her elbows on the polished table and tapped her chin with mock curiosity. Her long black hair framed her face like a waterfall. “Do you have an agency?” she asked Ryo “Ours is called blue wave deliveries”
Ryo looked at Stellar with confusion,
“Is he a courier too, with mage powers?”
“ He told you last time he was a healer—my healer. Every courier who wishes to work for an agency must have a healer by their side to treat them during deliveries.”
“I see"
“Couriers like Mona aren’t allowed to operate without one. It’s the law. The roads are… unpredictable.” Stellar added smoothly
“no...really?”
Mona grinned, as if she had read his thoughts “The world’s been carved into four kingdoms since the War of Dissolution. To travel between them, you need permits, escorts, and nerves of steel. Mana beasts roam the borderlands, and if that’s not enough, there are bandits, rogue mages, and the occasional… monster outbreak.”
Stellar eyes flicked knowingly toward Ryo, though he didn’t say his name.
“As for couriers like me,” Mona went on, twirling a spoon between her fingers, “we’re the lifeblood of this fragile peace. Merchants, nobles, even governments hire us to transport what their soldiers can’t—or shouldn’t. Dangerous goods, dangerous secrets, sometimes even dangerous people.”
“Which is why healers are required,” Stellar said firmly. “Without us, half the couriers would die on the road. The bond between a courier and a healer is… symbiotic. She risks her life rushing headfirst into trouble, and I patch her back together.”
“Or,” Mona teased, “I drag him into trouble, and he whines until I buy him dinner.”
Ryo sat back, processing it all. So that’s how things work here… No wonder everyone’s so on edge. If the borders are crawling with mana beasts,
Then maybe that explains the hound that infected me.
Elowen grunted, breaking the silence.
“And why exactly are you here, Courier? You weren’t invited.
Rose smacked her brother’s head. “Don’t make me angry, you! You destroyed the entrance hall, idiot. Tomorrow, you’re going to the singles’ gala. You’re exhausting me. Only a woman will ever calm down that temper of yours.”
“But—”
One sharp look from her, and he shut his mouth.
“You can come too, Ryo. It’ll do you good,” Rose added with a smile as she strangled her brother.
“Why not?”
“We’ll be there too.”
“Oh? You already want to get married?” Stellar asked in surprise.
“No, idiot. It’s just a way to socialize. I have no intention of getting married right now—unless you’re already trying to get rid of me?”
“Not yet,” Stellar said with a wink.
Mona pretended to be offended and started to argue with him like an angry wife.
“You two are adorable. Your bond is really strong,” Rose said after finally letting go of her brother, who was being resuscitated by Andrea.
The two guests blushed.
Ryo exhaled slowly.
A world split into kingdoms crawling with beasts and couriers carrying secrets? Great. I’m stuck in the middle of a fantasy postal service warzone.
